I sent an email to The Picture Store with images of what had happened and asked for a refund for the one artwork that was done incorrectly. I left a message a week later and now, after almost two weeks, I still have not heard back. Go someplace where the customers are treated respectfully after the work is finished.

I am slightly biased as I used to be in their employ as a…read moreQuality Control Manager and Narman like most larger firms hires a lot of legal immigrant laborers but they pay scale and the work was top quality as they have seasoned professionals oversee every aspect of the build. When I moved into a four bedroom apartment in the Fenway they helped me make it the envy of my neighbors it has a working fireplace and a brick walled full chefs kitchen. Rent for something comparable in New york would be 6-8k a month easy.

When David came in, he was able to fix up all the mistakes made by the others, as well as, complete the project. In another case, I had a washing machine dropped off, and the appliance company couldn't install the machine. David came over that same day, fixed the issue, and installed the appliance. I've tried various other companies, and Proforma has been, by far, the best out of all of them. They are definitely the go to design/building/contracting company in Boston.

We were hesitant going in - we had bad experiences with contractors in the past. Even shopping for…read morea contractor for our project, we felt that most companies didn't value our time, or our job. Not so with D&R! Our project was not a major renovation, but we were never treated like the job was "too small." We had some flooring re-done in our basement, some custom shelving and a closet installed, and some minor touch up repairs done on the exterior of our house. From the day Eric was scheduled to come out for the estimate, we knew these guys were different. Not only did Eric show up on time for the estimate (when does THAT happen?), but he called about 5 minutes beforehand concerned that he might be late. We felt that after the meeting, the quote and pricing he offered were fair and put down a deposit. We never felt pressured to proceed, and we were provided all information we requested: evidence of proper licensing, insurance, a fully complete legal contract, etc. When the job began, the workers were as punctual as Eric was on day one, and were courteous. We also found the crew to be careful and detailed to do the job right. We never felt uncomfortable with them working in our home, and they were flexible on timing and agreed to some minor tweaks and changes to the project as the need arose. Thanks for doing a nice job!

The project included a three-story addition and a full gut renovation, with all major systems updated. Marcel and his team did a fantastic job modernizing the home while preserving its historic character and original charm. Communication throughout the project was excellent--Marcel was professional, responsive, transparent, and always available when questions came up. The quality of the work and attention to detail were outstanding, and incredibly, the entire project was completed about one month ahead of schedule (unheard of in today's home renovation industry- we have friends that started before our project and are still far from completion!). We would highly recommend International Builders and Marcel for any major renovation, addition, or historic home project.
