Let me start by saying I love this place usually. But went there for election night and the waiters were too busy taking shots with a certain table in the back that it took 30 min for us to even get a drink let alone menus and once we got our tickets for the tacos and served our selves we still didn't have silverware or the chips which were the apps but that's didn't stop the servers from going to serve that table while 4-5 tables waited and watched at this train wreck. I went to this restaurant on a Wednesday and I was very pleasantly surprised to find they have free fries and hot dogs before 6pm. We ordered some hot wings as an appetizer in addition to the fries. The wings were bangin. The fries were also good. I enjoyed the atmosphere and had a great time which was probably augmented by the two mugs Stella Artois I enjoyed. Came here on a Thursday night because we got a groupon coupon for the movie theatre next door. The location is very convenient and the service appears to be top notch! Our server has been very cordial and made sure we were comfortable and our drinks were topped. The appetizers arrived very quick, about the same time as the bread. So if you're good with just starting off with buttered bread, then you can skip the appetizers. However, if you do order the appetizers, you won't be disappointed. We ordered the pastrami sliders which were very delicious and served with a helpful serving of homemade fries. The downfall of this place is the loudness of some of the younger customers who were located by the pool table. It's a sportsbar after all, so if you can overcome this, then you're fine. Their extensive selection of alcohol drinks was satisfactory which is more than enough. The burgers although delicious are more of a meatloaf on a bun, which is strange, but still good. The decorations are veered towards a more hawaiian/surfing look, but it's a bit outdated. Tables and floors are well maintained and the bathrooms were surprisingly clean compared to other establishments. As a local, we decided to finally give them a try. Upon being greeted by the hostess and waiting a few minutes for a server, we were not sure if our decision to go was a good one. However, we arrived just at 5 so it appeared that the servers were possibly in a meeting. When our server came to our table, he was great! Friendly & prompt going forward. Also was able to offer suggestions. As for ther food, we were very pleasantly surprised! I ordered the pastrami and my wife ordered the chicken sandwich. Both were very tasty and freshly prepared. The pastrami was especially tender, and with their "au jus" was one of the better pastrami sandwhiches that I have had in quite some time. The reason for not receiving 5 stars was the hostess. Even after we told her it was our first visit, she was still not very friendly upon our arrival, and as we were leaving she did not say a word -- no thank you, no hope to see you again, etc..... In search of great unique places to support this place makes the list. Went on a Sunday night, and while the crowd was not big. The offerings are definitely more than reasonable and the O.G. was surprisingly delicious. I can't wait for the warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor seating. I recommend arriving before 10:30pm as that is when the kitchen closes but the bar staff was way more than accommodating for those of us in the dining section. read more

So I went here for the first time and found them on yelp because it's close to work. I did see many pictures of the food that looked great (ribeye) but ordered the tacos being taco Tuesday, they don't advertise for this or on the menu so I did try it :( cold tacos! Bummed about my first experience. I'd try the other menu options but after talking to a "regular" on the patio, he mentioned after many chefs the food isn't good as it was.. Thanks david! He seems to be the regular with a sad story to tell everyone that wasn't pleasant for my first visit.. The french fries are very good, the service though is mediocre. The food is pre-made so I couldn't get anything adjusted to fit my vegetarian diet. Even though the food is pre-made, it took as a very long time to get our food despite the place not being super busy. The waiters are nice but not super attentive, and my order was not made correctly. Overall the atmosphere is nice and family friendly, but i would not recommend to any vegetarians (which is okay but just a fair warning: if you don't eat meat, there isn't much for you here) read more

Visited this establishment with several friends, about a year ago, and everything was going well.  Decided to put on some music while I enjoyed a round of billiards with my mates.  Mind you, I paid with my own hard earned DINERO, to listen to MY song of choice.  First I played El Muchacho Alegre, WHICH they turned the music down.  Then I played El Roto which they then just turned off.  NEVER. Consistently excellent food. Love the rosarito salad, the burgers are all excellent, and the grilled fish is amazing. There isn't normally a wait for a table, which is nice. And the service is normally fair but not exceptional. Great beer selection, not like the salted pig, but definitely still great. The signature drinks are a little on the sweet side but the bartender pours good. The appetizers were ok got the beach balls, spinach artichoke dip and bacon cheese fries, they were very basic tasting bar food. Our group also ordered the rib eye steak,prime rib, seafood scampi, The notorious hamburger and fish and chips all good. Great tasting entrees. Definitely will come back. read more

Honestly, the bartenders had aweful customer service. They had 2 bartenders behind the bar. None of the staff had name tags, believe me , I looked. This was our first time visiting this place and definitely our last. We only came to drink beers and relax. We ordered our first beer and once my boyfriend finish his drink, the server took his cup and didnt bother to ask for a refill. I had to interup her from sucking on her lollypop to order another beer. I have food service experience and eating food/candy is totally unacceptable. Oh, it doesnt stop there, I finished my beer and it was sitting on the counter for about 15 minutes. No one was behind the bar except for another bartender. This man took orders from the couple sitting next to us and didnt mind to ask us if we wanted our drinks filled. He took their drinks and walked off. We cut our time short due to our appalling service. We are reasonable people. We would understand if the place was crazy busy; unfortunately there was about 10 people in the restaurant. Came to The Beach tonite again ... I had Tiffany and Laura as my bartenders and Lee as the Barback... the service was great as always and I never have an issue with customer service at the bar ... everyone is fun and great to be around ... for a bar/restaurant this place makes me feel like I'm in an episode of "Cheers" ... everyone knows your name and I am considered "Mama" for about a hundred people in there .. it's awesome ! Worst customer service ever!!! Walked in the bar and bar tables were moderately full so we waited to be seated, no acknowledgement at all. Finally a bar patron said it was seat yourself so we did.....10 minutes of waiting and finally waitress came to take our order, we ordered a coke and a water to start while we looked at the menu. Another 10 minutes goes by and no drinks or sign of the waitress so we left. We will not go back and we will pass the word. As a former restaurant manager we know that good service to a customer tells 10 people and bad service they tell 20. read more

She said okay and poured a pre made mix , which thats fine but tell me "it's premade and has a kick to it so would you like something else?" It was spicy so I took two sips and pushed it back . She saw it numerous times but never asked if i didn't like it . I asked to close my tab and she still didn't ask what was wrong or if she could get me something else. Tyler B. Our waiter was the best part of our visit. Food was okay not the best but their prices are not that high that I wasn't expecting a 5 star meal. When the burger came out for my fiancé she let Tyler know that it wasn't to her liking and he immediately apologized and took it off the check. Great place to grab a beer and catch up with old friends. They have amazing pool tables and a great stocked bar. Only down fall is taco Tuesday. They never keep enough salsa on hand. Service is slow that day. So that loses a star for me. But any other day is great. Love grabbing a beer or two then going to the show. read more

Came here last weekend for the Mayweather-McGregor fight and was very impressed! The place was packed, unsurprisingly, but even so, these guys did a great job of accommodating the extra crowds. Service was surprisingly speedy despite the lines at the bar! Had some delicious cheesy bacon fries and large, delicious beers. Friendly service, nice place. Will definitely be back some time.
