The ribs were sawdust. The restaurant smelled and was dirty! The best part was our waitress and the stray cat.

The food was very good, portions are large and prices are reasonable. But the best for us was the way they treated our dog! .... On our way into the restaurant, in the parking lot, a feral cat was lurking, snuck up on our dog, and scratched her face! This drew lots of blood and we panicked.... But the restaurant staff came to her rescue with water, lots of napkins, and helped with stopping the bleeding. Then, they allowed our pooch into the restaurant where she shared some pork. Let me start off by saying that our server Beebe was amazing. She was attentive and sweet and accommodating. We each ordered different items. Some were ok, some were not. The bagel sandwich was not toasted and, therefore, had a gummy texture that was not appealing. It tasted like a cheap bagel you would buy in the middle of the grocery store. I asked Beebe what she would recommend and she said the loaded potato. It could have used more condiments (sour cream, green onions, etc), but overall it was the best thing we ordered. The strawberry waffles were ok. A little gummy versus crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, like I like them. My mom's boyfriend got the oyster omelet and I about puked when I tried that. The Bloody Mary was good, but on the menu it said it was $8 and when our bill came they had charged us $9. I know $2 extra isn't the end of the world, but it's the principle. You should charge what is listed on your menu. When I brought up the discrepancy, another woman came out and told me the price IS $9, but they haven't gotten the updated menus yet. To me this isn't a good excuse. All it takes is a sharpie and a few minutes to update the price until the new menus arrive. They didn't want to make it right and because of that and the subpar food, I would not go back. I probably wouldn't be writing this review had it not been for the unwillingness to honor their menu pricing, but I do feel like it should be noted because I have my doubts as to whether or not they are truly waiting for updated menus. We've been here before and it's always good, from the menu to having them cook your catch. But I think this was the best ever. The service is excellent. Over two visits we had lemon pepper shrimp, seafood platter, fried shrimp and barbecue sampler plus the islander oysters. Everything was exceptional. We went on a Monday night and it was pretty busy. They seemed like they may have been short on waitresses. I ordered the smoked turkey breast, fries and coleslaw. Needless to say I was very disappointed. The turkey was so dried out and overcooked. It looked dry and was like jerky. The smoke flavor was almost like a liquid smoke flavor. The two sauces they offered weren't very good either. One sweet and one spicy. I asked about white bbq sauce and they had no idea what that was. Fries were over cooked as well. Coleslaw was ok. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich and he said it was ok but he haha had better. For being the only BBQ place on the island they could really pack it in if they just maybe cut the menu down and focus on doing the basics really well. We stopped in this place during a storm looking for a new breakfast spot to check out. We got right in thankfully. The food was ok, wasn't bad but wasn't anything to rave about. We tried the meat lovers omelet which was decent but they only give one piece of bread with it. I ordered the French toast because it said cream filling so I thought it would be inside. Well, it's literally two pieces of bread with a line of whipped cream separating them that cost $8.50! No homefries or anything else comes with any meal. They also add a surcharge if you use a card. My partner and I went into this morning, they were very busy mind you. We were sat immediately and multiple tables were sat after us. No one came over to help us despite the whole service team walking by us at least once. People sat after us were helped before us. I overheard the host tell a server someone needs to help us and she said "that's not my section". We sat there for 15 minutes and eventually we walked out. If this place cannot accommodate all those people walking in they need to stop seating people. I was very frustrated seeing everyone who came in after us get help before us. Good smoke nice melt and firmness and I appreciate that they gave me both lean and fatty cuts. Baked beans were okay, not great not bad just not special. There's brisket or pulled pork or both mixed in so they've got that going for them. Like the spicy bbq sauce. The regular sauce tasted like Sweet Baby Ray's. Maybe it is. Key lime pie was interesting, its a circle like tart of key lime pie. But it was good, not the best but solid. I don't understand how this good restaurant and the one across the street (Mango Mikes) could be owned by the same people. We ordered to go, got the beef plates with several sides. The beef was absolutely amazing! Tender, tender and tender! Bbq sauce was nice and thick with a bright full flavor. The baked beans and onion rings, I could eat every single meal. We had breakfast there also, pancake was slightly burned, but buried in the bottom of the stack. The bacon was cooked perfectly! Plus, they offer a man sized mimosa.
