The best I can describe it, is that it has a retro-craft feel. I really dig it. Food comes out quick and is excellent. Bar tender and staff is friendly and chill. You can taste the cooking oil is kept clean, and is changed often by the fries and the smell. You can taste the food is made to order with real food. They also have cool events all the time. Like a poker night, and trivia night. I think the poker nights are Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm and 8pm. It's a little hard to find, tucked behind another building, just off the main road. Carful parking the little lot in the back, they have a massive pot-hole thing... just go real slow. Always seem to meet the most interesting people there. Nelson's Burger Bar is the "misfit island of toys" of the burger scene. Infact "scene" is exactly the right word to describe it. This place is a total trip. Next time your craving a beer and good burger, get yourself over here.

The mixed seafood plate was even worse - the oysters looked, smelled, and tasted awful, and the fish, shrimp, stuffed crab and scallops were completely bland. Even the fried okra, which should be an easy Southern staple, was disappointing. We left wondering if they changed chefs or management because the difference from our first experience was shocking. Even my mom, who is far from a picky eater, could barely eat her food. It's genuinely upsetting because this used to be a place we loved and enthusiastically recommended to others.
