Stopped in on trip through Filmore today for lunch as my husband and I love BBQ. My Apple Maps had it on its list so we popped in to try....OMG is this place Amazing!!!! I had the Burrito and my husband was like BBQ place why a burrito. I tell you they made it with perfect sized diced Tri-Tip and it was the best ever lots of meat their BBQ sauce is home made and Amazing. My husband had his favorite BBQ chicken and was similarly Amazed. We had sides of Potato Salad and Cole Slaw and it was perfect. The customer Service by the son of this family owned business was very friendly and knowledgeable. Awesome hole in the wall, family owned spot. The young man working the counter is very helpful, kind and has great customer service. The tri tip is juicy and fresh, a the hot links have a nice snap to them. The hot bbq sauce packs a lot of heat and is very flavorful. It was mid week around 2:30 and i am hungry. I was passing through Fillmore and lots of fast food but in a strip center I happen to see the Bbq Place. I decided to stop in. First impressions, the store front is nondescript but outside and inside and clean. The cashier greeted me and was pleasant. I opted for the hot link sandwich and macaroni salad. The food was ready in a timely manner and it arrived hot. The sandwich was kind of underwhelming. The sandwich was a butter toasted roll and 4 halves of hot link, spicy bbq sauce on the side. What was there was really good. The bread was fresh and it held up well with all the bbq sauce I dumped on the sandwich. The links had good heat on their own. The BBQ sauce was the star of the meal. Nice heat and great flavor. The sauce left my lips tingling. I just wish the sandwich had some mustard, a slice of tomato, a little lettuce maybe a little mayo. The macaroni salad was a miss for me. The pasta was over cooked and had no seasoning. If I was in the area again, I would give them another shot. Maybe I ordered wrong. read more

Great Tri-tip! The bbq sauce was excellent with a choice of mild or spicy. They said that the spicy was VERY hot, but were willing to give me a 50/50 mix of mild and spicy which was perfect. The garlic bread was a bit dry though and the macaroni salad was just OK. The beans that came as a side were very tasty, as was the cole slaw my friends had. I could only eat half for lunch and then the other half for dinner. The meat was delicious. I usually don't even eat tri-tip but this was so good I ate all of it. I didn't want to share so I hid the remaining sandwich in the fridge so my family couldn't find it. The barbecue sauce (I ordered mild) was also great. Adequate. The Food is grilled, 0 hardwood smoke. Tri tip is good and well seasoned, ribs are ok and chicken is hit or miss. The sides (bbq or chili beans) rate as lackluster at best. The grilled French bread is good. What makes this a semi regular stop for me despite the downsides is the sauce. It's not too thin, but not too thick and sticky. It has great taste and drizzles well on the meat. Both the regular and the spicy get a 8/10 from me. The Spicy has a good kick on the tail end without burning. I recommend getting Tri Tip, then a lid of the bread, drizzle on the sauce then dunk it in the sauce container as you eat the tri tip sandwich. Cheaper to buy it this way than buying the menu tri tip sandwich too. read more
