When we entered the store, it was impressive and Jared was welcoming, very relaxed (he even had his dog there for company), and Jared was full of answer to all our questions. The grill my husband wanted was quite expensive, but Jared explained that it was stainless steel and would actually last a life time. He assured us that he made house calls to help maintain the grill if needed. We even bought the rotisserie accessory, which we have enjoyed many chickens from. All summer he grilled and was in Heaven, and continued for the next decade and the grill was like new. He had a service call once or twice, and dropped by several times for advice and accessories till COVID 2020. Well, spring is here and we were looking at the cover, and it needed to be replaced. The grill needed good cleaning, and the starter wasn't working, so we went to see Jared at the store. And he was there, along with his same dog! It was comforting to see that some things didn't change, but there were some new accessories available, like a turkey stand for roasting. Jared happily cleaned our grills at his shop, and then made a service call to clean the grill, just like new!!! Beautiful. And we bought a new cover. The previous grills my husband had would last for 2-5 years but would need to be replaced. We found out that the grill we have, is still available to purchase, and it is selling for more than double we bought it at in 2012, that was 14 years ago. We are super happy with this grill and with Jared who is a great guy for small talk, and where do you find someone that is happy to clean your grill? It was and has been a wonderful experience shopping at American Cooking Equipment and I highly recommend it.

My mistake; I got tired of struggling with the stuff I messed up and called the store asking if they had a service company they recommended. I didn't realize that the store and their salesman, Jared, support the equipment they sell after the sale. What a relief; I scheduled a service call with Jared, and he showed up and got everything working properly, repaired my poor job of replacing the ignitor, and now I'm as good as new! I highly recommend this company because they stand behind what they sell. An added benefit is they make the products here in the US, which is good for all of us. Thanks, Jared!!!

Our dishwasher was defective and had multiple issues after one or two uses. Thermador service came out and said the drain pump and circuit board were bad. Yes, you heard me right on a brand new dishwasher! Universal would not replace it with a new one without Thermador approval. Dealing with Thermador has been a complete circus especially when their repairman left our house without resolution. There were numerous confusing emails and phone calls that were just wasting my time. I refused to have a rebuilt new dishwasher and all I asked is to have new one. My view is that I didn't buy the dishwasher from Thermador as this is a Universal responsibility to rectify. Still no resolution and I gave up. Very poor customer service as this dishwasher was a a lemon and would expect Universal to work behind the scenes with Thermador and supply me a new one at no cost to me. So in the meantime my wife and I continue to hand wash dishes in our new remodeled kitchen. We plan to buy a new one from another supplier who stands behind their products. The old one will be removed and delivered to Universal to salvage for junk. Igor - would like to hear your response and I don't want to hear there is nothing you can do without Thermador approval. You should know as a business owner that this can be handled internally between you and Thermador and might cost you some $ but that is what what good businesses do to stand behind their products and meet the customers needs.

Unfortunately, there are some workers who don't take their job seriously. The person who came to…read moreclean my grill absolutely fell short of the results I was expecting. First, I called for an appt and didn't get a callback for several days. Finally got a callback and an appt set up. Was told based on my pictures that the cleaning would be $250 plus additional costs for any parts that may need to be replaced. After several days of back and forth to give them a chance to find a broken part, I was told they could find it despite my giving them exact make and model number. Ok fine. The broken push button starter was agreed upon but was told the cleaning was now $400. Ok, I assume this cleaning is going to be really good so fine, I agreed. The appt date came and my grill was "cleaned". But when I got home from work, although I see see big improvements on the inside, there was no cleaning done to the single stove top just to the right of the grill, none done to the grease pan at the bottom, and none to the gas knobs. Upon closer look at the inside of the grill, there was still grease left on several places enough that when I moved the grill tops, my hands were black and greasy. Now, I admit the grill was much cleaner than it started but for $400 shouldn't the grill be darn near immaculate??!! When I asked why th rest of the grill wasn't cleaned or at least wiped down, I was told it would be additional costs! The owner did offer to come out and clean it again but at this point I refused. I can't believe they charge this much and only clean the inside of the grill to about an 80% level. Both Bob and Nancy are nice enough over the phone but maybe make sure your workers do a better job when charging those kinds of prices. Next time, I'll just buy some easy-off and a few sponges and save myself $380
