    Little Pig Slider

We got to the baron and 2 unlikely questions popped out of my mouth. 1) I have to put my name down and wait in line for brunch? 2) Why does this place look so hipster? Oh deary what has happened to Castle Hill?! A change for the good but just give me a minute to process it. FOOD I ordered the little pig slider (slow braised bourbon 'n coke pork w creamy red cabbage slaw on brioche). At $7.5 I was thinking damn it's a bargain! It wasn't very big though. Good thing I'd have breakfast beforehand so this was more like morning tea for me. The pork tasted great although the bun was a bit sweet which didn't quite match. SERVICE We sat outside and the service was slow. My friend's espresso didn't make it out and we must've called for the waiter at numerous stages only to be ignored because they were too busy and rushing around.

People have talked about this place. It bustles. The staff are friendly and it obviously a regular spot for many sitting around me. I was on my way to work, and street parking was not good so I parked on the upper level of the Towers which opens earlier than the main area. I ordered the muesli. They could call it Muesli Mountain! Nah, not really that high, but certainly plenty in the serve. I surrendered to it, and asked for the rest as a take out to nibble on if it was a slow morning at my workplace. I've been back since then, and still impressed by friendly staff & good coffee.

So I thought that Cosmos was the best coffee in the Hills, until I had my cup of coffee in the Baron. So the Baron is using coffee beans from Single Origin, and so you know that the coffee is going to be good. And it is. I haven't had any food here so I don't know what's it's like. Service is a bit slow but it is worth for the coffee here!

This place never disappoints with food. Great ambience, always busy. Had an awesome bacon and egg roll today aka "Bacon Bae". The chilli jam on this roll was ah-mazing! The coffee is quite average though - had a skim mocha... was alright.

Funky industrial design, and a few tables outside that are pleasant in the warm weather. Food is surprisingly tasty for "shopping centre" cafe cuisine. The staff are friendly and the vibe is chatty.

Cool place near the bus stop at castle towers. My brother recommended it as he's a bit of a trendy so have it a go. Warehouse type interior, cement rendered floors and wooden tables. Waitress was lovely and had a friendly vibe. I got a beautiful latte which tasted very nice, Ethiopian single origin blend. I hadn't had breakfast and ordered two things: muesli delight and maxx power salad. The first dish was a beautifully presented toasted muesli - with strawberries, edible flowers poached quince and rose syrup and coyo. This was delicious and I'd definately order again. The coconut yoghurt was Particularly nice. The second dish was a plate of healthy stuff; boiled egg, slightly runny but not oozing, a large piece of pumpkin, quinoa, half an avocado (rare with the price these days), and a red cabbage and greens salad. It was accompanied with an eggplant purée. Not a huge amount of flavour but tasted very fresh and healthy.

Favourite cafe in Castle Hill, hands down. I cannot even tell you how many times I've been here. The baristas really know their stuff and the menu is fresh, fun and constantly changing.

Nice simple feel and menu. If you do it nice and simple with good quality produce you really can't go wrong. Sometime it's a bit if a wait but it's to be expected when you want hipster certified quality.

No offence, but people drink coffee after 3pm. Open later hours and I'll be able to drink after work and move it to a 5 star.

    Review Highlights - The Baron

I had The Baron, a fancy bacon egg roll with avo and garlic, it was messy and bloody fantastic.

Arrogant & Patronising Female Staff!!…read more I went there yesterday with a friend & with my aunt who had been a regular costumer. We were there nearing 5 pm for coffee. Our friend who was with us asked the female staff who was at the till if they were closing, this female staff who already appeared to be unwelcoming to us the moment we approached the order counter, told us that the kitchen is already close so only coffee was available. We ordered three coffee & sat down. We were the only customers in the coffee shop. With no food available, we opened the ricotta donuts we had with us to eat with our coffee. A few minutes later, this female staff approached us and told us that food bought from outside the coffee shop is not really allowed & we should not be eating it there & next time it wont be allowed. I asked her if we can order food to have with our coffee then so at least we can eat something, but she said the kitchen was closed. I said to her, well, "we ordered coffee anyway & you didn't have food so it should not really be a big issue". This female staff replied "well, it is the policy, & if it's in in a fine dining restaurant, you wont be allowed to bring in your own food". Of course, any restaurant will have similar issues as they have food to serve so that's fair enough & normally, if what she told us was delivered in a nicer way, it would be a non issue & we were happy to comply  but this woman talked to us in a way that came across as patronising. I couldn't quite worked out if she was out to prove anything but she was arrogant even from the first moment we walked in. We talked to one of the other staff there when this female staff stepped out of the cafe asking who was the manager & the owner so we can complain & this arrogant female staff came back asking if there were any problem. I told her she was rude & told me that I was the one who was rude to her. She then said that they have cakes we could have bought as we were eating sweets we brought from outside but she did not mention these cakes were available as she made it clear to us that the kitchen was closed & we could only order coffee when we ordered.!!! Hhmm, that's not what we were told so that was inconsistent! She was non apologetic as I walked away because the argument was going nowhere.  This arrogant female even mentioned us that she knew my aunt comes to their cafe regularly that even made me more annoyed that other places who recognise regular customers  who pay & order food from their cafe almost every day would have been more accommodating, more flexible and understanding given they had no food to serve us. Shame, their coffee was nice but not only did they loose a regular customer, they lost two other potential ones. Apparently, this arrogant & condescending female staff is the manager !!! Dining & Co Castle Towers, you better get rid of your manager or train her to treat people right ( or does she only treat certain people that way, I wonder???) as she has no idea of what customer service is and definitely has an attitude & ego problem! It would be interesting to hear from anyone who had a similar experience about this arrogant rude female staff. I rated one for the coffee but my experience at Dining & Co Castle Towers was very negative, I'd never go back there again. Service and comfort are just as important as the food!!!
