A corner stone of the city with fantastic and friendly service. They always have wonderfully unique offerings. Even though we live in Atlanta we still drop in when visiting friends and family in Chattanooga. And on this trip we picked up a large 405 lbs.) water fountain. My wife had seen it the weekend before and then called midweek to purchase over the phone. Everyone was helpful and the whole process went smoothly. read more

Plant, flower, shrub, pottery, and tree Heaven! I could stay in this place all day despite not having a very green thumb. It was wonderful visiting with our small dog (so happy they are dog friendly). They have many excellent displays that are set up to show different layouts of plants in planters. Not only are they displays, but they are for sale too. There were so many large Japanese maple trees - a personal favorite to see. One top highlight of our visit was appreciating the fun, detailed dinosaur statues. It's not every day that you get to see that! They have plants divided into sections of annual and perennial plants so you can browse by type. In the middle, they have a large air-conditioned building with all sorts of goodies. Home decor, gardening clothes, tools, gifts, and a sweet little dog and cat area filled with different pet goodies and gifts as well as a pet water station. Prices were reasonable for most plants and items, and the women's restroom was one of the most beautifully nature themed restrooms I've ever seen! The customer service was great, too. Thank you all! We will be back. read more

Best place. Truly love it. Plants. Low key toys for kids. All the best help and tips a person could ask for!

Beautiful flowers and plants but a bit pricey. Wish they had smaller plants 1/2 the price especially for perennials!!!

Great selection!! Can always find help. A bit on the expensive side for me but not unreasonable. Great place!!!

Here is your one stop shop nursery for everything growing in a pot, in the ground, or hanging around your humble abode. The flowers at this nursery are all fresh and well taken care of. I have never found wilted and droopy flowers on any visit. It's important to the health of any plant to have regular watering by not letting them get to the wilting stage. This nursery is attentive to this need. When you do go, go during one of the prettiest times; during the months when their white Seaside Serenade Bar Harbor hydrangeas that line the property are in full bloom. It is a gorgeous sight to behold! The nursery sells anything and everything you can think of that pertains to a garden. There also are several gift shops inside the main building, as well as a pottery building extension full of any kind of pottery you're looking for, and it's located adjacent to the main building. Prices are average on most seasonal items such as summer blooming flowers and vegetable starter plants. There are also shrubs, small and large trees, including fruit trees and rose bushes, plus all kinds of both flowering and non-flowering bushes and trees. The indoor house plant section could improve by having more hard-to-find species. I was specifically looking to replace my difficult-to-find 5 foot Ming Aralia when I moved to Tennessee, but the only Ming Aralia they had was in a 4" pot. The Ming Aralia is a slow-growing houseplant, and I was looking for a large specimen to replace, so this was disappointing. I'm not sure if they will special order an item, but at that time, did not offer to get an Aralia for me. Other items such as gifts are not surprisingly expensive, although many are locally made so you can justify getting something authentic and indigenous to Tennessee. You will love this place if you are a plant nut like me! *****FIVE FABULOUS STARS!!***** read more

Stopped by while in Chattanooga for a visit. I love this place, even drive the 2 hours from home on occasion just to go here. They have all the normal plants but they really are great when you are looking for something out of the ordinary. I interacted with several staff members(they always have lots of people working) and all were knowledgeable about the care and needs of the plants I was asking about. read more

I love going to the barn nursery. They have beautiful plants , flowers, etc. I love looking at everything Only thing I don't like is that it is to pricey. I've really not bought much from here. I just like looking around. Staff is friendly. They don't mind you looking around. read more

We love this place even though it's a long drive for us, that should tell you something. You're probably not going to find a ton of bargains here but what you will find is an amazing selection of outdoor landscaping plants, trees, and nearly endless variety of planters. The houseplant selection is good but perhaps the Ace Hardware on 58 is a bit more novel in that regard. read more

The Barn Nursery is an award-winning garden center with plants, home decor, and gifts. They are one of the largest nurseries in the south east, and even easy to see from Interstate 24. They have the best selection of houseplants in Southern Tennessee. Not only do they have a wide variety of differing types, they also oftentimes will sell them in differing sizes/price ranges. Overall their prices are a little steep, but more reasonable than any of the smaller boutique-style plant stores in the area. Sometimes they have sales and rewards opportunities. They have unique pots, watering accessories, and planting necessities as well. They also have a huge selection of perennials, annuals, trees, shrubs, and all of your garden greeneries. We got a Japanese Maple last spring, and it is even more pretty this summer. The greenhouses and sales ground go on beyond the eye can see. It's always well maintained, the plants look healthy, and stock is rotated often. The bathrooms are also always clean. The staff and cashiers are so friendly as well. You truly must go here if you have a green thumb (or know someone that does). read more

Another gem in the city for local nurseries! This huge store has a wide verity of plants and flowers for all types for any level of plant parents. Staff is always helpful and willing to answer any questions you may have about anything in the store. Everyone is wearing masks and majority of the store is open/outdoors so there's plenty of space to move around and social distance yourself from others. read more

Lots of plants and trees to choose from. Mulch, flower pots and landscaping ideas! Friendly staff with good ideas for your yard!

When my Mom or I want to add something special or unique to our gardens, we make a special trip out to The Barn Nursery. Every season they have sales and unique plants or flowers to choose from. Last Spring I picked up a cute retro looking watering can to keep handy by my first herb garden attempt. Recently my Mom picked up two beautiful flower arrangements for her monthly bunko night. This nursery is fun to add to the errand list. read more

What do you want? No, seriously what do you want? They probably have it and if not, can get it and can help you in anyway and putting it in or advice on it. They're not the cheapest but they're fair and you don't plant plants to save money. read more

I LOVE going to this place when I drive through Chattanooga. They have an incredible selection of plants and garden gifts that are worth stopping for no matter what your green thumb looks like! One of my favorite parts is the random giant statues they have around the store. From the giant Sasquatch at the entrance to the grizzly bear with a santa hat in the garden walk, this place never disappoints with the random entertaining (especially for kids) statues you can watch along your way. They have really amazing quality goods you would find at most garden boutiques but a much larger variety and more things in stock. One of the best things about this place during Christmas is they have a customizable wreath station where you buy a plain wreath and add whatever you want from around the store to spruce it up. It's pretty affordable considering you are getting a one of a kind piece made by some incredibly talented decorators. They have smaller customizable items like burlap bag Christmas trees and ornaments as well that are great gifts. The other thing worth noting about this store is the bathroom. Let's be honest it matters. Especially if you are trying to find a good place to stop on a road trip. And this place does NOT disappoint. In fact its actually won an award for best bathroom among garden stores because apparently in American we make an award for literally everything haha! Other things aside my mom, me and my grandma spent a solid two hours going through the widest selection of poinsettias I've ever seen to the softest coats and cutest girly boutique items you always want to have and we're not bored a minute. It's a great rainy day trip for those touring through Chattanooga. read more

Well it was the first time I have gone to the BN. I am not a garden person but went with a friend that has greenhouses up north. The place is huge and has lots of plants, pottery and pretty much anything related to plants and gardening. They apparently remodeled and they have lots of cute thingys like signs you can put in your house or garden, gnomes, theme type gifts and other unique items. They have plenty of off street parking and it is located right off Hwy 24. It was a little hard to find but with GPS, I succeeded. The people were really friendly and helpful. My friend has a business so was able to get 20% off the entire order, which they do for businesses and also tax exempt if you have your business number. I guess the prices are good but quite honestly, I don't know but they must be OK because the place has been around a very long time and is big. They also have a Patio shop, which I did not see. I did purchase a Bonsai plant for my future (I hope son in law). The salesperson told me they have free workshops and are having one on Bonsai plants in a couple of weeks. Anyway, without knowing much at all about this subject, I have to give it a 4+ because of the service and the quantity and quality of the merchandise. read more

I have been coming to the barn for years! Most of the time there's no problem but the last time I was I had an awful experience with one of the cashiers. I think she is new because I don't recognize her, but she seriousness more training. She ignored me, had such a know-it-all attitude, and she gave me advise I knew was wrong. Makes me worry about the people who WONT know better! The barn has always been somewhere I know I can go for wonderful customer service, I hope that isn't changing! read more

So very disappointed and angry right now. On June 13 we spoke with David, who helped us identify some plants that we had purchased at The Barn last year. We wanted more of them and he actually got the Monrovia rep in and we watched him order the plants directly from the rep. He then exchanged his cellphone number with my husband's and said, "I'll call you when they come in next week." 2 weeks went by, no call. My husband shot him a text inquiring about the order...no response. We waited a few more days and my husband called David and inquired again. No call back. So, we drove down there today and asked another worker about the plants. We were told that an order for a dozen had come in last week. There was only one plant left (and it was small, not large like the ones we had previously purchased. We were so angry that we had watched the order being placed with the Monrovia rep, was told we'd be notified when the order came in, yet we never received a call and our call was ignored. We have a big project that has now been delayed as we will have to find some other place to order from. This is HORRIBLE customer service and we will never deal with this nursery again. Their prices are ridiculously high anyway, but this was the only nursery that had these plants so we sucked it up and ordered them. IF The Barn cared at all about their customers, they would order us 3 (big) plants and sell them at a discount because of their poor customer service. David really blew it and we are going to make sure that others know about it. read more

This place is huge located right off the interstate. Thought it would be something great but sadly I found this place too big to navigate the plants were kind of scattered. The prices were ok on sale items and we would have bought more if we had the time to spend and got the help we wanted. The staff seemed too busy to really answer questions and the cashier was no help at all that would be better served as a self checkout. read more

We just moved to the area a few months ago and were out and about. We saw The Barn Nursery from the highway and wandered over. The place is huge and has everything you might need for plants, gardens, padios and more! What really impressed me was the staff! Super friendly and not pushy. Very helpful! I took note of a sign for their Terrarium Workshop. I went home and found their Facebook to read more about it and quickly bought my ticket online for a spot! The class was packed and so much fun! Donna led the class and took everyone step by step through making your own take home terrarium. You also had the option for additional money to add as many plants and or to go as big/ fancy as you wanted. For my first one, I kept to my class price but to be honest, I think my terraruim is perfect! I do plan on adding a zombie to it ;) During the class I learned that The Barn Nursery offers a variety of classes. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out in their offerings! I am not as green thumbed as I'd like to be. read more

My wife had been looking for an indoor fiddleleaf fig tree for some time but hasn't found the one. That is until today when we stopped into The Barn Nursery. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by an employee that showed us to the right area. As we were looking around, Cole (the GM) approached and offered to assist. She told him what she was looking for in both the plant and the pot. He immediately stopped and helped us out. Showing us multiple pots in the rain and then helped her pick out the plant. Once selected, he had the plant potted and ensured that it was delivered later this afternoon. Delivery guys were very friendly and helpful. Could not be happier with the experience. Highly recommended. read more

Been here numerous times in the past year getting plants and scrubs for my house. I like this place over others I have visited between Cleveland and Chatt. A really large selection for a place landlocked down town. I am guessing they have a farm or another place to bring in fresh plants Not just plants here as they have most anything else you will need to work on your garden or just dress up your place or entrances. read more

Huge nursery. You can see them from the highway. Big parking lot. Great selection of outdoor plants, succulents, cacti and pottery. Staff was nice. read more

Love this place, well not exactly sure it's the place or the plants. However if it's a certain item or plant I'm looking for then this is the first place I go. It is a pain to find, not sure why I get so turned around, I usually have to use the map app. The people there are always working hard. They ask if you need help and then leave me be to just walk around and check out everything. I haven't had a plant die, unless it's from my own stupidity. Always buy The Barn's potting soil. It's the best!! And the guys will carry the bags out to my car. read more

I was a little bummed the other day when I couldn't quite make it up to Signal Mountain Nursery before close, but I figured I really needed to get some things done around the house, so I would go to The Barn Nursery. With the awesome, friendly service we received and the selection, I no longer feel like we were making a compromise. While I still love the location and atmosphere up on Signal, I have to say the Barn has done such a great job, and they have a great selection of pottery since they also have a giant pottery store right next door. Their home decor is not my style, but if you're looking for signs and things to hang up around the garden or in the boat house, they have some with local towns and sayings like "Welcome to the Lake." I found a beautiful and affordable fig tree, a nice bushy rosemary, some assorted house plants, and of course some topsoil and rooting powder. All in all a job well done. And they were open! read more

We have been driving 90 minutes to go the the Barn Nursery several times a year for about six years. Last week we purchased two hanging plants in a group where all plants were $24.99...except for one which the tag said $49.99. Unfortunately we did not check this particular pot well enough since it passed through at the wrong price. After getting home one of us called to rectify the situation. We were told it was a plant obtained from Canada so that is the price! Basically too bad and they hoped we really enjoy the plant. Short term thinking for sure. Our long term thinking is after thousands of dollars spent at The Barn Nursery on plants and pots, we will find another nursery that knows how to treat customers. The three of us will never return. read more

DISNEYLAND FOR PLANTS! This place is beyond huge. It is like a small city dedicated to all things related to gardening. If you can't find it here, it probably does not exist. This is the place that you need to visit early in the morning before it gets to hot. We were there in the afternoon when it was very hot so we were miserable and did not stay very long. We were looking to possibly purchase a large pot for a tree but the base prices seemed a bit inflated so the sale price just wasn't relevant. Also, on closer examination, I noticed that some of the planters had been damaged because they are stored outside, on top of each other and in close proximity without any protective barriers. I am very particular and if I am going to purchase a planter, it will need to be in pristine condition. The real value in shopping here is just being able to take advantage of the great selection of plants, pots and garden decor. The plant prices were really nice and there were different types of plants that you would not necessarily see in a a Home Depot or Lowes. Everything is nicely organized and labeled and I found the employees more than willing to provide assistance and direction. If you are landscaping large spaces and needing a great deal of options, this is your store. On this weekend, visitors were invited to bring in photos and measurements to get free advice about their gardening projects. I thought this was a great service. I was really thrown off by the gift shop that just sort of popped up as I was transitioning from the annuals to the perennials. The shop actually had t-shirts and other items but I did not have time to fully explore the contents. Just a bit of information in case you're wondering. If you are going to go, go very early and make sure you have a list or a firm idea of the specific types of plants or landscaping supplies you need so that you can use your time more efficiently and not feel overwhelmed. Good Luck! read more

The best gardening supply story and nursery I've ever been in! I love in Nashville and am sad this place is so far away as I would spend all my free time here if I lived in Chattanooga.
