As any of my regular review readers (if such a thing exists!) will know, from the sheer amount of hairdressers I've rated, I'm not fussy when it comes to hairdressers. It normally gets to the stage when I'm walking down the street and feel my hair at a certain point, I'll just walk into the next hair salon I see. However, having passed The Barber's Shop on several occasions, I made a mental note to make use of their services the next time my hair inevitably reached the point where I ceased to look like a human and more closely resembled some sort of yeti. The Barber's Shop is the best of both worlds, modern and sleek, but designed to evoke the classic, traditional barber shop feel of a bygone era (complete with spinning pole outside!). They've got various Birmingham City Football Club merchandise on the wall, giving the place a real local feel. The look isn't the only thing reminiscent of days gone by; the prices are fantastic, just £7 for a gents cut. I've never even had to wait when using The Barber Shop, but should you have to, there's a great selection of magazines and some cushiony sofas to occupy you. One of Birmingham's best. read more
