If you get in really early, or it's particularly quiet, you might be able to be seen then and there. But this is unlikely - it's a very popular place for a reason! I got there about 10.30am and booked the earliest appointment left available, which was 3.45pm. When I arrived I was met by Abby, who would be cutting my hair. She sat me down and we talked through what I wanted. I was looking for a slight overhaul - most notably getting a fringe for the first time in ten years! She cautioned that the work I wanted doing would be quoted at £23.95 instead of the standard £20 (which is a wash, cut and finish). To be honest I was over the moon with the price, and we immediately got under way. A lovely girl washed my hair for me. She was very gentle and we chatted away whilst it was done. Once I was all squeaky clean Abby got to work. She put some long layers in my hair and cut in the fringe - the style of which I decided based on her advice. Once the cutting was done she blow dried my hair and added a few finishing snips. I was thrilled with the result - it was a complete hair makeover for me, and the best my hair has looked in years. Throughout Abby was chatting a friendly, a real pleasure to talk to. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone who wants a bargain haircut which looks like it cost a fortune. The dreaded day arrived…read more.. I was in drastic need of a haircut and to my horror; my long trusty hairdresser had gone on holiday. Despite panicking like never before, I rang my brother and asked him where I should go. Holding back the tears, he suggested I go to HQ on Kent Road, a five-minute walk from our house. I took his advice and walked down, to me met by a huge queue. On one hand, I was happy, surely if this many people were waiting, it MUST be good. On the other hand, I had stuff to do and wanted to be quick as possible. After a 20-minute wait, it was my turn. I had butterflies, I was sweating, I was nervous. I asked for what I usually have and to cut an extremely long story short, everything turned out okay. Not so much that I would leave my trusty barber Chris, but enough for me to leave with a smile on my face. The hairdresser was quick, polite and although it cost me a fair bit more, the service offered was that of a hair studio, not a barbers, so I wasn't one to complain.

On every ocassion I have been to New Style, I have always seen a variety of ethnicities having their hair cut at the place. That in itself speaks volumes and it is a place where I have seen the barbers have plenty of banter with their customers. In terms of the music played at New Style, it tends to be Asian and Bollywood tracks. That might put one or two customers off going to New Style but rest assured. It is all about the service and those working at New Style offer first-class service. In terms of my personal experiences, I have found the staff to take a long time cutting my hair e.g. between 15-20 minutes. It is all about the end product and I have not been disappointed with the end result of how my hair looks. Definitely recommend getting your hair cut here.
