Finding a good hairdresser is one of the biggest dilemmas of the modern Western woman. While other women the world over scrabble about for food, freedom and other luxuries, the real challenge of the first world woman is finding someone to cut her hair lovingly. I jest, surely.
Keith Hall hairdressers are located on the second floor of a row of buildings on Market Street, one of Lichfield's main streets. Without the sandwich board outside announcing its presence, it would be easily passed by.
I was lucky enough to have booked an appointment unwittingly with one of the managers, a very handsome chap with some funky as heck spiked and dyed hair.
The receptionists at Keith Hall aren't the most friendly bunch, but decent enough at their jobs.
However, the service I received from the chap who cut my hair was excellent. He did that rare thing -- actually listened to what I wanted, but also gave some advice to help my style suit my face shape, and then cut my hair exactly like we'd agreed.
There is nothing worse than coming away from the hair dressers with 2 inches less hair than you'd wanted removed. There is obviously a vast conspiracy in English hairdressers to shear all UK female residents like so many sheep.
I received compliments on my hair from everyone I knew, even those who didn't know I'd had it done, so for that ego boost alone, I'd recommend this place.
If you're not walking, parking for Keith Hall will be the same as parking for anywhere else in Lichfield city centre -- in a pay and display car park a few minutes walk away.
The cost for my hair was about £45, which is steep, and didn't include any colouring, but there prices run much cheaper for someone who doesn't run the place (about £30 for a junior stylist).
They serve an excellent cuppa joe, which is a nice perk while getting yer hair did. read more
