She made sure the new folks knew the moves beforehand and answered all questions we had. She greeted everyone who came to her class. So the basics - this place is located on the 2nd floor of the building that is shared so you will have to look up to see it. You cannot miss it though. Take the stairs or the elevator if you prefer. They did have to let me in when I arrived 30 mins before class and I can see why. This is an all female studio and being that they were by themselves on the 2nd floor, safety precautions are taken. Greatly appreciate that ladies! The doors are kept locked once classes start so again, for our safety even though this area is a very nice area. The studio is beautiful, nice wood barre floors and they have showers and all the amenities for you like deodorant, feminine products, pink towels! So if you need to shower and change, go right ahead! Class was amazing. I feel that I was able to keep up and if I struggled, Brenda said it was okay to modify. This class is a low impact class, BUT you will feel it the next day. I felt the burn in my legs the next day from all the pulses. One thing that I really enjoyed was that we were able to use natural sunlight in the studio. You get a nice view of the outside and being on the 2nd floor, we had nice views of the tree tops in the Champions Forest/Spring Cypress area. Loving that we have a barre studio in Spring!

It was a great workout and I was sore for the next few days. I took my second class today with a different instructor and the experience was just as good as the first. The free trial class was pretty good, not crowded, and they were friendly. But the regular class was crowded even with the reduced size they have implemented because of Covid 19. I found the instructor hard to hear and it was difficult for me to see what she was demonstrating. I had signed a contract (which included a 5 business day rescission clause) for 4 classes per month. I understood this to mean that I had 5 business days to change my mind making me feel okay about signing up for this. They turned a lot less friendly when I told them I didn't want to continue the contract and only wanted to pay for what I had used. They also informed me the contract did not include 5 business day rescission clause which was confusing as I was sure I had read it. So, when I got home, I reviewed the contract and indeed the clause was there. I called them and told them where it was in the contract. They then informed me that rescission meant that they did not have to return money and only meant that they would waive their 30 day cancellation policy and could avoid further charges. This place seems to be working out for some people. The classes were mostly full and some were even wait-listed. But, I would recommend approaching any of their contracts with caution. Be aware that some text is hidden when they show the contract on their screen.

In order to activate the pack, I was told to call the studio and then it would be taken care of from there. I tried calling multiple days/ times (while they say they are open), but could never get through. Eventually, I decided to just show up in person at the time of a class I wanted to attend. Luckily, they were able to quickly get me setup in the system and I was able to attend the class I had shown up for. The first class I selected was the Cardio Express class. As I usually like faster paced workouts, I thought this would be my best bet. The instructor was very welcoming and helped me get setup. The class itself was much harder than I expected but it really was a great workout. I was sore in the days after this class. I would recommend this studio to anyone looking for a great workout.

The positive is that the classes provide a decent muscle workout…read more The negatives; 1. This facility is overbooked. You will have to reserve far in advance for each individual class. If you have a 9-5, good luck ever being able to go. 2. Classes are almost always PACKED. You have to be careful not to get kicked or hit by the person next to you. Classes are in a room way too small for the class size. 3. They have a very unforgiving late policy. If you're 1 minute late to a class, they consider it a "no show" and LOCK THE DOORS and then charge you $20 on an automatic penalty! 4. It's expensive. For having to struggle just to book a class, why is it so costly? Their overhead is very low; the building is small and old, and all the equipment they use is cheap weights and mats that require no maintenance. So, you don't get as much out of the value. You can't rely on getting into a class, you don't get specialized attention, you're in packed room. Where exactly is the value at $35 per class? 5. Not clean. The room smells (of course, it's packed with 20 sweaty ppl class after class). They give you just one almost dry wipe to "clean" your mat, your weights, and any other equipment, which is basically doing nothing. 6. You have to clean up after yourself. It kind of feels like kindergarten because after a class, you line up to put away your own equipment one by one (after insufficiently disinfecting it with one evaporated wet wipe). At other studio classes they don't make you do this extra task. 7. You have to use special socks just to go to class. Forget your socks? $17 for new socks for the class. Come on. 8. There is almost no parking. There's usually 2-3 staff on duty, 20+ members trying to take a class, and maybe 8 parking spots, so you're going to have to look for a spot on the street. 9. If you know you won't be able to go regularly enough to justify a monthly pass, they sell class packs. But those expire, so you kind of end up rushing to use them up, and the classes are always packed. I ended up forfeiting like 3 classes. And they're not cheap! 10. Because the classes are so packed, the instructor seldom gets to you. Sure, they do a good job of remembering your name, but if your form is wrong, good luck getting anyone to help you. You might get one note per class, maybe two. If you don't know what you're doing, you don't get much out of the workout. 11. The instructors speak quickly and don't explain what they mean. They use lots of esoteric terms about the form, but they don't explain clearly. It's hard to keep up. These are the things that have annoyed me about going, to this particular location, so I declined to sign back up.

When I enrolled, I asked multiple times about class packs because I needed flexibility and did not want a recurring membership. I was told clearly that class packs were not available and that the only option was the once-per-week membership. Based on that information, I signed up. When I later cancelled, management told me that I had been offered all options and that it was "documented" in their notes. That simply wasn't true -- my friend was with me and heard me ask specifically about class packs. Being told something happened that didn't, and having my experience dismissed, felt incredibly invalidating. What made it worse is that they then turned around and offered me a class pack anyway -- the exact option I had originally asked for and been told didn't exist. The teachers were kind and professional, but my interactions with management and front desk staff did not feel transparent or supportive. A fitness studio should feel encouraging and emotionally safe. Unfortunately, this one didn't for me. I ultimately chose to pay the $99 early termination fee just to end the membership and move on. I'd recommend asking very direct questions about all options before signing.

Then I found this gem, which just wasn't on yelp yet! I had my first class here today with Elizabeth and it was excellent! For those of you who haven't experienced Barre, it is low-impact and focuses on small isometric movements to tone all those hard-to-engage muscles using ballet-inspired but easy moves. I'm the opposite of graceful but Pure Barre has given me better body awareness and flexibility at my own pace. Elizabeth's instruction was great, providing detailed description of the next movement without stopping the flow, and going around making small adjustments to everyone without calling anyone out for an off position. She remembered everyone's name, and let you know you were doing a good job when she saw you working hard or giving your all (the goal is to "shake", because the muscle is getting tired it wobbles or shakes a little). I've seen pure Barre change my body from doughy and shapeless to lean and toned, so I'm in love with it. It elongates, tones, and slenderizes you all over. I even noticed an instructor from a nearby fitness center was in the class. This location has great music, very friendly staff, and is super clean! I love the look of the studio, with a bit more wood accents than most, it looks (and is) very upscale! It's also in the PERFECT location for those in the Vintage Park/Champion Forest area. Just a hop and skip from H-E-B shopping center, right by Dunkin Donuts in a plaza. Walking Distance from those who live in any of the "San" apartment complexes. I'm definitely going to be a regular here!
