My wife and I got married on May 6th 2023. We contracted this business for our wedding cake. We met one of the owners in person to discuss details. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and gave us different pricing options. We were not let down. The day of the wedding, everyone, ourselves included, loved the cake. A few days later, I had to return the topper so I decided to try some dining. I also bought a few different cookies for the road. Food was excellent, same for the cookies. The restaurant had a nice "small town" atmosphere to it. Would definitely recommend them again. read more

The cake was moist, the buttercream frosting was to die for and the fondue horns were an added yummy bonus. We only tried a few items so we cannot give a full review of the food; however, the service was very fast and friendly. We had at least four different people ask had we been helped while we were looking. The cookies that were out for sample were very moist and delicious. OMG-- if the goodies don't get you the warm, friendly hospitality and service will. My family and I had a fantastic experience with Cheryl and the staff at The Baking Grounds. So many goodies to choose from but we settled on cupcakes-- red velvet and vanilla w/chocolate ganache, peach cobbler, caramel cake and chess bars. This was only 15 minutes before close, but Cheryl invited us to grab coffee (free after 4pm!) to go with our treats, and sit a spell outside on the patio. Everything was delicious and fresh and spoke "may I have seconds, please?!" As much as we enjoyed the time and experience together, we had a really good laugh at all the locals making a last minute dash into the bakery before it closed. I swear we saw a car turning on two wheels into the parking lot! It might have been our first time but it won't be our last. read more

Daughter and I stopped in here for lunch one day because we couldn't agree on anything else, and I was tired of driving around looking for food (we were in the middle of moving, so didn't have food and cooking supplies in one place). We'd heard about Baking Grounds from my sister, who rarely raves about anything. So we were fairly certain we'd be pleased. We started out just ordering a dessert, thinking that the only thing they had for lunch was the special on the board. At the last moment, I asked if they had a full lunch menu and was handed one, so we sat down to peruse. Daughter ordered the egg salad on white and was quite pleased. I had tuna salad on rye, and loved it. We also found that with the pickle, cookie and chips/potato salad option, we didn't have room for anything more than the sandwich and one other item! We ended up bringing potato salad, pickles, cookies, and our original dessert order home for snacking the next couple of days. Fantastic service, cute little setting, and delicious sandwiches. Such a great spot!! We happened upon this place after a rainy morning of soccer for my 2yo niece. We had four adults and the baby, and they were kind enough to push two tables together for us. Two of us had the potato pancake special, and it was delicious. I told our server that it was the first time that I had cleaned my plate in a long time!! Service was great!! My family and I have had the wonderful opportunity to try their pastries and cakes for the first time. It was recently my grandma's birthday, and we decided to buy a cake. We bought a red velvet cake... now, how bad can that be? The red velvet cake was not just a normal one, but it was topped with macarons. super yummy!! i ordered the cinnamon roll french toast and it came out piping hot and delicious with a side of hash browns. the toast is lightly dusted with powdered sugar and that was the perfect amount of sweetness for me but they also provide pancake syrup on the side. my boyfriend ordered the same thing but got scrambled eggs instead of hashbrowns. he enjoyed his meal but the serving of eggs seemed small (2 eggs). the decor is very cozy and homey and the staff were friendly. there is also a bakery full of fresh-baked seasonal goods and while we did not try anything, there is a wide variety from dipped pretzels to cakes. i do have to deduct 1 star because there was no social distancing and that was a bit unsettling. the restaurant was packed when we went and the bakery area was especially crowded. the tables are practically stacked on top of each other. the food is tasty and reasonably-priced but if you're wary of covid safety measures, this is probably not the place for you. read more

This is a great place to go for breakfast or lunch. They also serve dinner but can't comment on that since I haven't eaten dinner there yet. For breakfast, the selection is pretty decent. You have your standard fare such a scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes and sausage or bacon. Most of the breakfast items are pretty good so you can't go wrong with any of the selections. I really recommend the jalapeño hashbrowns though, they're not too spicy and a different twist on a common breakfast item. The coffee is actually pretty good, their coffee of the day is typically the one I get because it's seasonal selections that they make in house. Service is very friendly and prompt. It's a local family Business which I love to patronage and give them my support. They also have a full bakery which has a lot of great selections such as cakes and cupcakes. I love the cake pops, they are decently priced and a great bargain over other places such as Starbucks. Overall, I really like this place and if you are in the area or live in the area I highly recommend going for breakfast. It's one of the only locally owned breakfast places in the area that's worth eating at and has better service and food than an IHOP or Waffle House. My only suggestion which is why this place isn't a five star is that they should offer more nutritional options such as egg whites or turkey sausage. read more

The service was great and our server took very good care of us we enjoyed the service that she provided, and I made sure that I left a great tip on the bill. This bakery is a true neighborhood gem that caters to the community on providing some great bakery items. Many of the deserts that were displayed look professionally done and several people were constantly coming in to pick their previously ordered cakes or deserts. Went in for breakfast with my family today. I was excited to try this place due to great reviews. Let's start off with the only thing I liked were the pancakes but unfortunately were cold as was everything else on my plate. Maybe mine was just cooked first because everyone else's plate was warm. (Food)...House potatoes were awful looked and tasted like they came out of a frozen bag trust me do not try. Biscuits and gravy... biscuits were too salty for my taste and gravy was bland. WILLIE WONKA'S PLAYLAND! As stated in it's name, this bakery is also a small cafe. As you walk inside your eyes are immediately drawn to the glass filled with confections. It was like Kiddie Kamp, because I just saw a sea of colors and marzipan. Many of the treats were decorated like they only cater to kids and I know that this is not the case. Off to my far right, I noticed wedding cakes, that were decorated as if they were going to be presented to a couple of 10 year olds as well as more tasteful options. I immediately start looking around for the "grown folks" treats, simple pastries. There were a few left and we selected three, cheese for my daughter, strawberry for my husband and I decided to go for the pecan pastry because I absolutely love pecans. While I liked my pastry, I thought that it had a bit too much fat. My husband and daughter both enjoyed their pastries and I am sure that they would order them again. However, I felt like the pastries were small and over-priced and I personally would not choose to purchase them again. I prefer to get ALL of what I "pay for" and today, this wasn't the case.
