The lady behind the counter, perhaps the owner, is so sweet! We felt so welcome! And these treats are made with love! From cookies to cakes and a few other sweet treats, she had quite the selection! I was tugged towards the pound cake, or maybe the chocolate layer cake or the pineapple cake but then I saw my Momma's favorite, Italian Cream Cake! It was always so hard to find (and a pain to make) so when I saw that in the display I knew that's the one I had to try. I have no regrets. It's a perfectly balanced cake with the right amount of frosting and mix-ins such as nuts and coconut. It's perfectly sweet and moist. When someone says they want Italian cream cake, this is what they want! Now I know where to go to order my cakes as just from this slice, I can tell this is the spot. I scrambled at the last minute trying to find a baker that could squeeze one in at the very last minute (less than 48 hours), and Martha really saved the day! The price was very reasonable, and she didn't ask me for any kind of a rush fee, even though I fully expected one. The cake was delicious - it tasted perfect! I still can't get over how great the cream cheese frosting was! I can only imagine what her carrot cake must taste like... :-) She has definitely won over several people as new clients, and I look forward to eating her delicious cake again soon.
