My husband and I absolutely loved Bakery 1908! It's such a fun experience from the minute you walk…read morein. You grab a tray and a pair of tongs and make your way through the bakery, with separate glass display cases for the sweet and savory pastries. You just pick whatever looks good -- which is dangerous because everything looks good! First of all, the prices are fantastic. Most of the buns are under $4. My absolute favorite was the ham and cheese bun. The bun is slightly sweet and the ham and cheese are savory, and the combination is SO good. The blueberry bun was another favorite -- it almost had a blueberry cheesecake flavor. We also tried the curry bun, which was delicious. We ordered several of the hot items too. The har gow (shrimp dumplings) were outstanding. They have a delicate steamed wrapper filled with plump, juicy shrimp, and these were honestly some of the best I've ever had. I've eaten in multiple restaurants in Chinatown in both Los Angeles and San Francisco, so that's saying a lot! The Shanghai dumplings, which are little soup dumplings filled with meat and broth, were also delicious. We also tried the steamed pork ribs. The flavor was very good, but steamed pork has a different appearance and there were some fatty pieces. I'm glad we tried them, but they're probably the one thing I wouldn't order again. Another huge plus was the pricing on the hot food -- every hot entrée we looked at was under $10. Between the two of us, we ordered seven different things, couldn't even finish everything, and our entire check was only $46. Great quality, great variety, and an incredible value. I will definitely be back. I was going to say I wish there were one closer to us...but maybe it's a good thing there isn't, because I would probably eat those ham and cheese buns every day! Five stars!

Extremely disappointing customer service, especially from the manager…read more I placed an order for two milk tea drinks at 1:24 PM. While waiting, I watched another customer receive her drinks even though I was already ahead of her by approximately four customers in line. At 1:32 PM, I approached the gentleman at the counter to ask about my order. He did not greet me or acknowledge me. He looked at my receipt, looked at his watch, and dismissively said, "It's not even 10 minutes." He then asked me, "What do you want to do?" When I asked what he meant, he told me I could either wait or get my money back. He checked in the back and came back telling me it would be another five minutes. I agreed to wait. Five minutes later, instead of simply addressing the delay or apologizing, he told me I could grab a bun while I waited. I explained that I already had a bun and that, considering the inconvenience and the way the situation was handled, I felt a discount would have been an appropriate gesture. Instead, he offered to refund my money and gave me another receipt without the drinks. The most disappointing part was Norman, the manager. At no point did he apologize, acknowledge the inconvenience, or make any genuine effort to resolve the situation professionally. As a manager, I expected him to step in, listen to the customer, and demonstrate some level of courtesy and accountability. Instead, his attitude left me with the very clear impression that he simply did not care whether he had my business or not. I completely understand that a bakery can get busy and that orders can sometimes take longer than expected. The issue wasn't simply the wait--it was the attitude and the complete lack of customer service. A simple apology and a professional response could have completely changed the experience. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed and unappreciated as a customer. Management should understand that customers remember how they are treated, especially when something goes wrong. I will not be returning, and I hope the owners take this feedback seriously and address how customers are being treated by management.

When I walked in, I was immediately greeted with a warm and welcoming hello from the person behind the counter. She was very friendly and upbeat, and I noticed she was doing the same for everyone who came in -- greeting each guest as they walked through the door, which created a really inviting atmosphere. The space itself is quaint and inviting, and the pastry displays immediately catch your eye. The croissants and desserts on display honestly look like little pieces of food art. Everything looked beautifully crafted and almost too pretty to eat. I actually sat down to enjoy a little "breakfast and a book" moment, and the environment felt relaxed and comfortable. They were playing music while I was there, so next time I visit I'll probably bring headphones so I don't get distracted while reading. I stopped in around 10 a.m., and parking was still available, but by the time I left a little after 11 a.m. it was getting pretty scarce. If you plan to visit, I'd definitely recommend coming a little earlier in the morning to make parking easier. What I ordered: * Salted Caramel Latte -- smooth, rich, and nicely balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. * Honey Caramel, Bacon, Smoked Gouda and Egg Croissant Sandwich -- a buttery, flaky croissant filled with egg, bacon, smoked gouda, and a hint of honey caramel that tied everything together beautifully. The egg was very fluffy and well cooked, although personally I would have preferred a little more bacon to balance the egg. Compared to the generous portion of egg, the meat portion felt a bit small for my taste. Even though I'm gluten intolerant, I honestly decided to risk it all for this croissant sandwich, and it was worth it. Thankfully I didn't have any bad reactions afterward -- luckily I'm not celiac. Their coffee selection is great, and they offer a nice assortment of breakfast pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and beautifully crafted desserts. I was also told their macarons are gluten-free, which means I'll definitely be back to try those. Next time I'd love to try a chocolate croissant, one of their soufflés, and maybe take home one of their beautiful desserts or some of the gluten-free macarons. Would I come back? Absolutely. If I'm in the South Tampa / West Kennedy area, this is definitely a place I'd stop by again for coffee and pastries.

The croissants are not your average-sized croissants--they're huge and come in so many unique flavors. I came specifically for the pistachio, but I also had to try the crème brûlée and the famous almond, which seems to be one of their best sellers. The regular croissants are around $6, while the specialty ones are closer to $10. It may seem a little pricey, but honestly, each one is almost like eating 2 1/2 regular croissants! I also love that they're sourdough-based, which gives them a slightly different texture with a nice chewiness that I really enjoyed. Everything I tried was delicious, and I'll definitely be back to try more of the flavors!

There's a huge variety in the bakery section, so give yourself a little time to look around before deciding! There's also much more than baked goods: a savory food section, sandwiches, ice cream, a coffee shop, and even a bar. I liked how much variety there was, whether you're stopping in for a meal, something sweet, or a drink. The Halloween cakes caught my attention right away. They were so well decorated that I almost bought one, even though I had absolutely no reason to get a cake. I ended up trying the caramel and peanut cheesecake instead, and it was delicious and tasted fresh. Definitely a highlight of the visit. Great service from the people at the bakery area. There was also live music, with a guy playing guitar and singing, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. Between the selection, the clean space, and the music, it was a lovely stop. I'd happily come back to try more.

It's vanilla soft serve mixed with chunks of their delicious salted Nutella chocolate chip cookies, topped with more of their salted chocolate chip cookies & a Nutella drizzle. Think -- a less mixed blizzard with cookie & Nutella globs to eat mainly with a spoon and both a straw for when it begins to melt. The store itself is adorable. Think pink neon lighting, velvet pink couches with fun cookie pillows, and a fun wall for photo opportunities. Recently they also added a super fun Photo Booth outside of their store! They even have a succulent in an ice cream cone shaped pot and a pink street sign on their wall that says "Bake'n Babes". It's all about the little details, and they did a phenomenal job decorating! I love that they have self service touch screens! Usually a staff member is present at the front and helps answer any questions you may have about the menu which is awesome! One recommendation would be to have a button in case you need anyone from the back, and to put the thermostat to be a little less chilly (I'm sure there's a reason for this!). Otherwise perfection!! I have been here probably about 20 times or more, and highly recommend!
