Stopped in for breakfast before a 5 hour drive. Staff was friendly - and while making my bagel with cream cheese and lox, asked if I wanted to add all the extras which I hadn't already ordered. (Capers onions and tomato). The adorable man making it was so happy doing so and so proud of what he made, showing to off to me before packing it up. My daughter's wedding was 12/12/25, at Perona Farms. Everyone stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Mt Arlington. We dealt with Sam at the Bagel Place for breakfast items for the following morning. We had bagel platters, both regular and gluten free, butter and cream cheese platters, as well as a great fruit platter. They provided everything we needed such as plates, utensils, napkins, etc. Everything was delivered early in the morning to the room we had reserved for our guests, was fresh, warm and delicious and that's coming from Brooklyn-born, now Staten Island, NY folks, who know good bagels. Always in search of good bagel shops, I drove to Mt. Arlington today to give The Bagel Place a try. The store is located in a strip mall on Howard Blvd. its a small place and I was disappointed to see very little seating, just a few stools. In nice weather though, there are tables outside. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. The sandwich was made quickly and tasted fine. The bagel was good, not crazy about the sausage. I was in the area and gave this bagel shop another chance. Things have improved significantly since my last visit. My order was taken promptly. Staff was friendly and cared enough to get order details correct. The order taking/cook roles seem to be more a lot more organized. The order I placed was actually filled as requested and most importantly it tasted great. I did not have to wait long and their prices are inline with other bagel shops in this region. I will return whenever I am in the area next. The manager/staff have really done a good job turning things around. I recommend this bagel shop. read more

Let me start by saying I like the bagels and they deserve more stars. Here is why I gave two stars. I asked for a half pound of a variety of cream cheeses. They do not put a printout of the weight on the container. But I got charged for 1/2 pound for all 4 that I bought. For all I know they gave me a little less. Hard to believe that all 4 containers are exactly 1/2 pound. It's not as if these were pre packed. To me that's sketchy. Also I ordered two everything bagels and I asked for them to be in a separate bag. I personally don't like when all the salt onion etc gets on my plain bagels. I walked in, one woman saw me and no acknowledgment that I was even there? She walked right past me. I waited for a couple of minutes and left without being able to order. Food is good and that's why I gave it two stars. They are not organized at all. People are waiting for orders and you can't tell if the line is long for waiting for the food or to place an order. They need to organize that better. Also they started to charge a service fee for credit card. I own a small business and pay transaction fees but the fee they are charging is higher than what the credit card company actually charges. (I know AE has high fees and that's why some stores don't accept AE )but now they are making a profit off the fees. There are other bagel places in the area I will not be back. read more

I went into the store and ordered a bagel toasted with butter, the cashier said it was $2.41. I gave her $10 and only got $7 back. I asked where my change was ??? She said we round up...WTF I sent the manager an email and after 2 weeks decided to post a review. I won't be back! Why not just say the bagel was $3? I have gone here before many times. This time there was a woman there, heavy set with hair back. As i came in she was chastising publicly the kid that was there for not tearing the receipts properly. The place was SO disorganized and this woman seemed to be the cause of this disorganization. She has the younger kid doing the register then making food, all the while, he's wearing the same GLOVES!!! That's PRE COVID SENSE!!! Then she directed the kid, after he dropped a half of a flagel on the floor while he was cutting it, to "just cut the other half and toast it" so SOMEONE got a half of a flagel cut in half. 5-6 people behind the counter and the only one consistently DOING anything was the older man on the grill. I waited there for 25 mins (hence all of the hygiene violations I saw) while standing waiting. All i ordered that need any preparation was a toasted bagel with CC and a breakfast burrito. The woman had an attitude with ME when i said to her "this place cleared out of all of those that came in after me" No apology. Then I asked why she was having the kid work the register AND prep food without a change of gloves. She said "he changed his gloves" I said "ive been standing here watching all of this. Then she called me a bitch at which point i left... This place is not only UNCLEAN AND UNSANITARY but THEY DO NOT APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS!! Go to POPS in landing!!! I was sooooo happy to see this place open up on Howard Blvd! Most of the places around me are simply not in an area of convenience, but this one is. I'll grab a bagel or sandwich on my way to Route 80. ALSO, not only is it super convenient but also... THEY MAKE A DAMN GOOD BREAKFAST SANDWICH!!! The employees are so nice, too. First off, the place is clean, that is a plus plus.. The people are super nice and friendly.. Another plus. The orders take a bit longer than they should, but who knows, that could be because they are really busy or some other reason.. The everything bagels barely have anything on them. I asked for an everything bagel with lots of everything and the girl looked at me like I had 3 heads.. The sandwiches are good, however a bit pricey than other places and the sandwiches are smaller than other places.. overall not a bad place to stop in for A quick bite. read more

If you're going to open a bagel store in this area, you better have the best. These bagels don't come close to other bagel stores. They are a cross between a bagel and a Kaiser roll. They are large because of the air inside the bagel. The staff wasn't very friendly. One would think a new business owner would go out if there way to be pleasant to their new customers. There were 2 people in front of me and he didn't attempt to engage in conversation with either of them, not even a Good Morning! The prices were more than other bagel stores in the area. Charging $1.05 seems an odd amount for a bagel. The owner will need a lot of coins on hand to make change. The owners probably didn't doo much market research. The area has a lot of bagel stores. Most of the stores are on heavily traveled roads and can be seen from the street. The store is back in the corner of a strip mall and can't be seen from the street. Maybe they need time to get the store up and running, or maybe this is there business model. read more

Ive been saying there should be a bagel store in this complex for years!! Their bagels are very good...one of the best around! They're thick, fluffy and doughy and their breakfast sandwiches always have a good amount of meat. I like that they have a variety of bfast sandwiches, wraps and paninis. read more
