I have been going to Backyard for many years. The restaurant has the feel of the old steakhouses my parents took us to in the 70s. Warmly lit, not too loud, attentive servers. I often order the prime rib rare or a ribeye, trust me, you'll enjoy either. My husband gets the filet. One thing we miss is the pre-COVID salad bar, but the house salad is pretty good, in my opinion. My server, Joe or Joey... it's been a week or so, was very enthusiastic and polite to a tee. I can't remember the last time I've been called ma'am so much in a short period of time! I have absolutely nothing to complain about.... EXCEPT... the dessert tray. I choose the one thing on the tray that sold out. Disappointed, yes. I told the super friendly Joe that he should discount my bill the cost of the two slices of pie. He smiled and laughed, dang. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

We enjoy coming to the backyard steak pit very much! Great steaks, and I love the Ahi tuna as well, the bartenders are great and they make amazing drinks as well. Never disappoints.

Cocktails were ok. I orders the chili line chicken rice bowl. It was good but didn't necessarily seem to fit the description. It had rotisserie chicken in it which was different. Even during slow times, service was horrendous. Bar is understocked. Could only make one mojito, didn't have the ingredients for a second. Children's portions are minuscule for the price. Was served very undercooked chicken. Thankfully I cut my chicken sandwiches in half before eating, and even in the dim lighting saw that it was not cooked through. Wasn't offered a different option... I called after the fact because I was told there was no manager to speak with and that someone would call me the next day. After about an hour on hold I got an empathetic manager who was able to give us some credits on our stay... but you couldn't pay me to eat there again.

Our ressie was for 9 and the gentleman was able to get us into high tops near the bar which was appreciated. However, we felt ignored seated right by the kitchen. It wasnt the bartender's fault whom waited on us,( she was bartending ) but whomever was to bring out the dishes to us. They brought us a second salad but we said we were waiting for our Mains. We waited, and waited, and waited between courses. I am not sure if the portions were small because it was a pre fixe menu, or that's how normal portion sizes are? The appetizers of polenta, super tiny. The beet salad, also very tiny. My ravioli was decent. But my hubby s steak was very small. We could also hear the front of house manager scold the staff. In conclusion, I don't know if I would pay to eat here. And rum and diet was $11 and a small pour of wine $9.00.

My Long Island Iced Tea was strong and crisp, hitting the spot perfectly. The complimentary bread came with just the right amount of butter. My medium-well Sirloin Steak Frites arrived quickly, hot, and well-seasoned--the steak was juicy and the fries were spot-on. Considering how close it was to closing time, the kitchen and staff delivered outstanding work. Great food, friendly atmosphere, and impressive effort. I'll definitely be back when I have more time to linger!

We both ordered the 8 oz filet mignon, and it did not disappoint -- cooked perfectly and super flavorful. Her daughter got the kids steak and fries -- the steak was great, fries were just decent. Now let's talk about the appetizer... the shrimp with the Parmesan crust? 10/10. Easily the star of the night. We also shared a bottle of Riesling, which was only about $24, making it super affordable. Service was lovely. The staff checked in just enough without being overbearing, and they even surprised us with a birthday brownie, which was such a sweet touch. The ambiance was also really nice -- one of those versatile spots where you can dress it up or keep it casual. I had on a tailored sweatsuit, my sister wore jeans, and we still felt perfectly in place. It's definitely a spot you could come to for a date night, family dinner, or even a corporate happy hour. Overall, our bill came out to around $160, which felt completely worth it for the quality, service, and experience. I'd absolutely come back.
