I just have to say Paige was amazing. Seriously one of the best servers we've ever had. From the second we sat down, she was so kind and welcoming. Not fake nice, not over the top, just real. She knew the menu, gave great recommendations, and checked on us at the right times without hovering. Our drinks were never empty, everything came out right, and any little request we had, she handled it like it was nothing. What really stood out was how much she seemed to actually care. It didn't feel like we were just another table to her. She made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. Paige made our night better, plain and simple. The set up of this location is nice no tall booths by the bar it's much more welcoming. Server was very attentive. He meet our needs and requests. Really was hoping my next review would be positive... But unfortunately Outback Steakhouse here next to Gurnee Mills let me down. The ambiance and staff were incredible in all aspects. The spinach dip and boomaritas were phenomenal. But of course the "steak" was atrocious. I ordered a 18oz ribeye for $30+. I received a 8oz ribeye surrounded in 10oz of fat. I absolutely love a great meal for a great price and this place is everything you could imagine. First of all I haven't dined here in a while. The location used to be located right near Great America and moved probably 6 years ago. After driving to the wrong location Siri directed me to the current location on Grand Avenue located in front of Gurnee Mills. We had a reservation and arrived early so we seated ourselves at their bar. The drinks were wonderful. I decided on the Tequila flight to try something new and it did not disappoint. My brother had a smoky Old Fashion which he really enjoyed the presentation. My Mom had a dirty martini. All the booths were taken so we pushed 2 high top tables together and were able to enjoy our meal in the bar area. Even though we had a reservation because we weren't seated right away our booth was given away. We had a large party so I was happy to have found the solution of the 2 tables and didn't have to wait. I had the 6oz sirloin with a side salad and sweet potato. We started out with the Blooming Onion and that was so tasty with the sauce that complimented it. We had a wonderful dining experience and weren't rushed. It was a family reunion and the first time all of us had been together in over a year. Great experience! We came here last night for dinner. It was a short 10 minute wait for our party of 5. Our service was quick. I ordered the Sheila Medallions (these are new). It comes with two filet medallions topped with mushrooms and shredded carrots. I got mashed potatoes and a house salad for a side. The food was great! My only complaint is that I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and it was well done. My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken and enjoyed it, though he wished there was a bit more sauce. The mac and cheese he ordered was delicious! My mom loved the burger she ordered but would have preferred it without the fried onions. This place is casual and great for families! read more

Our family eats at the Gurnee Outback every time my college kid is home. We have always had a good experience, and the food has never disappointed. Our servers have always been attentive, and the restaurant has always been clean. Honestly flabbergasted at the robbery this place is committing. I ordered a filet, which comes with TWO sides. I requested double fries. Guess they took this as a reason to skimp me of fries bc they included enough fries for a toddler. I also ordered another side of fries (which is THREE orders of fries), and they put about 10 fries total in the box. This extra side was $4.50. While the restaurant was grossly understaffed, considering that it was Veteran's Day, we had a very pleasant time sitting at the bar. Had a terrible experience at the Outback in Gurnee tonight. They must have had trouble with their seating software or something because there were plenty of empty tables, but no one was getting seated. We waited patiently for about 40 minutes watching the chaos. Finally, I was told we were next in line (table for 2) so after 3 more tables of 2 were seated, I asked again..a different host this time. This host snapped at me, said we had only been waiting 40 minutes and that he was busy seating other, larger parties.....No reason to snap at me dude, and no reason to do it in front of other much more impatient customers. I was darn hungry, and really looking forward to that steak dinner, but we left. Walked right outta there....Hangry. Please do batter Outback. The whole ordering system went down, just as we ordered our entrées and almost all the restaurant was seated so tons of people didn't get their food on time. We got the blooming shrimp and it was served before the ordering system went down so at least we had some food. I got a salad as a side and mashed potatoes. When my food finally came, it looked so small on plate since I got my salad beforehand. They were very kind and tried to come over and explain what was going on and at least tried to get us drinks and maybe some more bread while we wait for our food. This being my first time there. I don't think I'd go back to this location. There are tons of other locations to go to and after the ordering system went down at this one, I'm afraid to deal with that again. read more

Well I have dined at outback steakhouse franchises several times but have never gone to this one in Gurnee right by Gurnee Mills Mall. So far the service has been very good and I didn't need to make reservations since I went solo and had a craving for steak but didn't want to break the bank going to a familiar steakhouse here in Gurnee called Stevens which is the best steakhouse but in my transition of employment don't want to spend that much. Ambience is pretty typical for outback would be Australian outback but I don't know if it's truly Australian down under. If Aussies eat steak? Lol or if they call it that in Australian English? Anyways I had ordered the strawberry lemonade as a beverage and was eating their signature rye bread with butter as for the main course I went for the steak n mate combo of ribeye steak and choice of shrimp. I chose coconut shrimp. My sides was homestyle mash potatoes and broccoli to stay on the healthy side since my diet of almost a year. I avoid the bloomin fries. Depending on my appetite next to working out tomorrow. So far the ribeye was delicious and I ordered it medium rare so is juicy the broccoli was cooked just Sprite and the coconut shrimp was surprisingly delicious with the sweet and sour marmalade condiment to get with the coconut shrimp. I finished it with a butter cake for dessert with strawberry puree and a vanilla ice cream on top. The dessert was okay the butter bread was a bit dense but delicious with the garnish of vanilla ice cream and strawberry with strawberry puree. All in all, despite craving for Stevens but can't live with uncertainty of income I am glad I went for outback since in general I was craving for steak. It's a good steakhouse but not the best. THE WORST FOOD I TRIED IN YEARS!! Asparagus unflavored, overcooked, reheated and from hours or days. Vegetables, same, super overcooked, chunky and unflavored. Pasta also reheated and overcooked, it was precooked pasta... TERRIBLE! We complained about asparagus with manager and asked him to bring a fresh ones (cooked at the moment) he bring us a bunch of the same old, ugly, overcooked and chunky ones. How can a business hire a manager who didn't have, at least, basic knowledge about food? He was totally lost and confused. I'm familiar with the Blooming Brands constellation of restaurants and understand that they serve particular market segments. In that segment, they should represent the zenith of its contemporaries. This place, however, came up short. My wife ordered a ribeye, and I had the sirloin with the Bloomin' chicken, specifying medium rare for the beef cuts. They were underdone, almost mooing. Additionally, the ribeye was looking a little thin. We're used to a large cut, so something that was on the upper limits of a medium cut admittedly not what was expected. The Bloomin chicken was salty, like tears of disappointment. There are honestly better ways to flavor your meat. Lastly, the service was a bit off. It wasn't busy, where did she go? There was no offer to refill our beverages, just the obligatory "do you need anything else?" We couldn't wait to pay the tab and go. We arrived at our destination a bit later, finally acknowledging the dinner was awful, and had a pretty good laugh at the whole experience. Went to the Gurnee Outback for my sister's birthday this afternoon at 5:30 pm. I ordered a cheese burger and fries. My wife ordered chicken Alfredo and shrimp. The chicken was extremely dry, and my burger tasted like fish. so my burger was taken back and a new one would be coming. I guess one of the managers brought the new burger and chicken. I took one bite and the burger tasted like fish AGAIN!!! WTF!!!! They didn't learn the first time. At least the chicken was good. The waitress never asked if I wanted another beer, nothing. Way too much mustard and raw onions. Seems like outback is following suit with the economy. Raising prices and skimping on quality. Too bad they used to be pretty good. Will never return. Appreciate the fact that the manager reached out but it was a waste of their effort and time. There were 2 other tables there at the time my wife and I went that were complaining as well. That was a total of 3 tables with customers. All the rest were empty and devoid of paying customers. I think the manager or whomever replied should spend time in correcting the issues that my wife and myself as well as the other patrons were complaining about rather than spending time on social media pretending to be pro active. We recently visited this location and we had the best experience!!! We were in town for our sons graduation from the Naval Academy and we had a large party of 18 people and our waiter was absolutely the best!!!! He took care of all of our orders without one mistake. He even helped the younger hungry kids pick out their entrees. He explained the menu and the cuts of steak.
