I just love me some Texas Roadhouse. Came here to celebrate my birthday with the family. I love how you can get a nice sized ribeye with some shrimp, and 2 sides all for about $30. Perfect place to take your family for a nice meal that won't break the bank. The ribeye I got was a nice sized portion and cooked deliciously. I love love love the baked sweet potato - make sure you get the loaded version!! And the dinner rolls are to die for. The rolls, that's all. Just kidding, but they are a great reason to come by! Oh and the butter! This location is located just outside of the mall and is often very busy. We usually join the waitlist online and that's a great feature because when we get there we are still waiting. But the service is super fast once we're seated. You can always count on getting the same quality for a great price when you come to Texas Roadhouse. We often come when we're wanting a steak dinner without needing to go to a nicer dinner. Esp with a little one it's been super nice have them pay such attention to what we need and get us in and out without taking away from the experience. Arrived at TR around 4pm on a Saturday, the place was hopping! Here are some thoughts: --It is very loud--"background" music, TVs, and lots of people in an open room. Difficult to have a conversation. --Lots of big screen tvs, if you like to watch sports. --Service was VERY good. Our waiter was helpful and attentive without being overly present, even though the place was packed. --TR used to be known for their Texas toast, but now they have fresh rolls, and a tasty and sweet cinnamon flavored butter. --I ordered the cheeseburger. This location is fairly new and I've never been to Texas Roadhouse before and decided to see what the hype is all about. To be expected, it was super packed. Even with that the wait time was only about 20-30 minutes, so we didn't have to wait long. We were seated before the estimated wait time which was nice. Even though the restaurant was packed, it seemed clean and well put together. We were seated and I got to try the infamous dinner rolls with the cinnamon butter, and it was worth all the hype. Warm buttery rolls helped the cinnamon butter melt and together they were delightful. Our waiter was nice and offered his opinion on the cocktails, which was nice. For my cocktail, I got the Jamaican cowboy but asked for it slushed, and it was really good! It came in a decent size, but I was so tempted to order another! For my meal I ordered a half rack of ribs, loaded baked potato and corn. Everything was great besides the corn, I've never had bland corn but this corn missed the mark on flavor. No big deal though because I enjoyed everything else! My son ordered the kids meal mini burger sliders with fries and apple juice. He really enjoyed his meal, I snagged a fry and I have to say that fry was one of the best fries I've had at a restaurant to date! I had a reservation told the host upfront to confirm step to the side 5 minutes later called my name and 4 others went up there. They sat everybody down except me they kept on calling people up and kept sitting them down I told one of the workers that they had called me awhile back he said he was going to check on that ( he never did). Texas Roadhouse never disappoints when it comes to hearty, flavorful meals. I ordered the 16oz sirloin steak cooked perfectly to my liking, it was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Adding a little A1 sauce on top just took it over the edge. The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth, and the house salad was fresh with a nice balance of toppings and dressing. And of course, the free bread and cinnamon butter are as amazing as ever. Definitely one of the highlights of eating here! The service was great, friendly, and attentive. To start they had no service ware as we sat. Then our waitress brought out the service and plates. The plates were caked with bbq sauce. I've been here a so many times and I've enjoyed every experience except for this last time. We were there for my daughter's b-day which made it special but the waitress never noticed despite my daughter wearing a b-day crown and sache and had to ask for the traditional b-day horse saddle at the very end of our dining. The service was bad as I didn't receive 2 items which I mentioned and the waitress tried giving it to us after we were leaving. I was so angry I didn't even notice until the next day on my email receipt that she put items from the table next to us on my bill. This location opened not too long ago, and I'm not a fan of the seating process. You have to be present and they do not let you get on the waitlist before you arrive. Service is good. The rolls are fantastic, live up to the hype, and the only reason why you should wait for a table. They are hot, fresh, and come with the most delicious honey butter. I am beyond upset with my experience at the Texas Roadhouse in Gurnee. We ordered takeout, and I found an actual nail in my salad. This is not an exaggeration. A metal nail was inside food prepared and sold by this restaurant. I could have choked, broken a tooth, or been seriously injured. When we first contacted the restaurant, we were told to call the corporate office. We did. Repeatedly. No one answered. We left messages. Eventually, we received a note in the mail asking us to reach out again, which we did, and still could not get anyone on the phone. When someone from corporate finally called me back, a woman named Jackie, her tone was accusatory, aggressive, and dismissive. She repeatedly stated that they do not have nails or screws in their restaurant, which made absolutely no sense. When I pointed out that if that were true, then the implication would be that someone intentionally put it in my food, she backtracked and said she could not say that either. Instead of focusing on the safety issue, she treated me like I was making something up. She then told me she was not going to stay on the phone because I was angry. Of course I was angry. I had a nail in my food. Any reasonable person would be angry in that situation. The only positive part of this entire experience was the local store manager, who my husband spoke with directly. He was calm, reasonable, took this very seriously, and handled the situation appropriately. We appreciate his response and professionalism. However, the corporate response was completely unacceptable. Food safety is not something to minimize, deflect, or accuse a customer over. The lack of responsiveness, followed by an aggressive and dismissive call, made an already alarming situation much worse. read more

Ambiance was busy, but not overly so, you can still talk and hear others. Service was great by Marcus, when you visit ask to be seated in his section. Not a great experience. Some of the food was ok. The steak I ordered was a bit dry. It was medium so not much of a reason for it to be that dry. The drinks were nice. The old fashioned I ordered was actually pretty good. The manager at one point came over which I thought was professional. However the waitress... She seemed like a very nice girl. We were there celebrating my wife's birthday. I advised the waitress of this and she acknowledged. She stated they would bring the saddle over for their birthday routine. We were there with both of our children who were also excited to see this. All that to say it never happened. We watched table after table with people celebrating their birthday with the staff and they missed our table. While I do believe in tipping well, I left a tip that reflected the poor service as we specifically went to Texas road house. First time here and it will be the LAST time here. Brought my family here to celebrate my son's birthday and my granddaughters birthday. Waited 25 minutes after checking in and several people were seated before us, despite being told we would be seated next. Food quality was definitely not worth the price nor the wait. Server brought food after waiting a long time then brought the food as is on the menu when asked to omit one ingredient. Never brought the side dish despite asking more than once. This was supposed to be a special dinner celebration. I feel very disappointed with the service and the food. The girl upfront tried to give us a booster seat and I let her know our baby wasn't old enough to sit on that. She refused to give us a highchair like she was unknown of what one was when we've had one before and well we ended up having to have the baby sit in her car seat instead in a squished booth, my husband ordered a medium well plus steak and it came out rare..least to say he didn't enjoy it and didn't eat it. Sooooooo, it was a Wednesday night and we tried this new location close to our home. Arrived about 5:30 pm. Place was extremely busy. Ordered drinks and ate some peanuts that were on the table. My wife and I enjoyed a drink before ordering. The peanuts were the best thing about the visit. I ordered the Medallions. Food was warm, not hot. Steak was tender, but not really seasoned. It comes on some sort of rice that needs to be removed from this choice. It was dreadful. Waited for our waiter to ask if we wanted another drink. That didn't happen. Have been there numerous times and the food and service was great! As usual all good things come to an end! Last night we were seated and there was a "little league team" there. They were yelling, screaming, making a total scene at the restaurant the parents sat there and didn't do a thing! Finally, we called over the manager and asked him to go over and talk to them his reply was "They are kids" my husband then said our money is just as good, we eat here a lot! He went over and the parents did talk to them,they toned it down for awhile. Then came dinner I order the same thing 8 oz sirloin with 1/2 slab of ribs, The steak was great as was the sides loaded chili & baked potato. The ribs were burnt, hardly any meat and very salty! I didn't send them back because the service was barely there. Couldn't get refills on the drinks, forgot the butter & horseradish cream. All the servers including ours were just standing around. Where's all the adult managers, not college age! I have noticed the food and service going down slowly if you keep this up you will end up like your competition across the street OutBack! It's OK. Parking is a bit hit/miss. Might be better off parking in the Gurnee Mills shopping parking lot across the street. Long line to get in... but oddly fast/quick seating. Let's start with the ambiance; pretty much what you would think,,,typical chain steak house with average food. The food was not great. Got my order wrong and went to remake it. One would think that plate would be sent to the front of the line but no, it took 20 minutes for it to reappear. All the food fell in the average range which is what i would expect. Service of lack there of. I know this has only been open 2 months but management needs to build a team, so they work together. There was a LOT of employees, not once did i see anyone step up to clean a table, or help each other out. So many people standing around the wait stand doing nothing as i was trying to get anyone's attention. Management you need to step up and train these people how to work as a team. And another thing there is nothing more irritating than wait staff that do not look up as they work their tables. Look up, we are your customers not people to be avoided. To the manager's credit he did come over and apologize about the long time to get the replacement dish out and comped it. So happy to have Texas Roadhouse in Gurnee. Went on Wednesday at 3pm when it opened which was a great time to go. Had a party of 4 which we were seated promptly and atmosphere was great. Had my usual fried catfish and loaded baked sweet potato which was excellent. Our server was great and staff was friendly. When we left about 5pm place had gotten really full.
