A couple of years ago, I thought I'd hurt my shoulder. I was in terrible pain all the time, and physical therapy, heat, massage, and even pain killers didn't help! My massage therapist suggested I see Dr. Amanda, and boy, am I glad I did! Working with both Dr. Amanda and Dr. Tom, we discovered that it was my spine out of alignment that was causing the agony in my shoulder. They worked absolute miracles, and I finally got true pain relief. In another issue, I had a terrible accident and cut a tendon between my thumb and wrist that required surgery to fix. Afterwards, I was despairing of ever getting my full range of motion back in that hand, even with therapy. I asked Dr. Amanda if she could adjust it, and she began working on my wrist and hand as well. Within two weeks I had approximately five times the range of motion as I had gotten in six weeks of physical therapy. The Back Doctors' Tom Rammel has been my chiropractor since I moved to Reno in 2009. I specifically sought a chiropractor trained in the Gonstead method and the Rammels are the only local chiropractors practicing the Gonstead method that I have found. Tom has been able to keep my neck, spine, shoulders, elbows, wrists, ribs, knees, ankles and all of the above for my family members in line. Tom is quite capable of finding what's out of line and fixing it. I have been well cared for by seeing Gonstead chiropractors since 1999. It does require visits every couple weeks, but it's worth it to maintain my optimal health. I have been seeing Dr Amanda since her and her husband started their practice. I had arthritic pain in my hands and my daughter suffered from migraines. I had developed lower back pain and was told I would eventually need back surgery. I was referred to Dr. Tom by a friend. I have had back issues ever since I was in a car accident a few years ago. He has been awesome. I continued to see him through my pregnancy and it really helped with my headaches and the numbness I was having in my hands and wrists. I found out toward the end of my pregnancy that my baby was breech and Dr. Tom suggested I see Dr. Amanda. I was 28 weeks pregnant when I tweaked my back to the point that I couldn't walk unassisted. I was referred to Dr. Amanda by my sister and within the first five minutes of seeing me she knew exactly what the problem was. Within the first three visits I was able to walk again and within the first two weeks I was feeling better than I had before I started going. Once I got to a point where she felt she had fixed the problem that I went in for she gave me the option of when to come back. There was no pressure to come in every week or when it wasn't necessary. I've experienced chiropractic on and off throughout my adult life. All the chiropractors I've gone to have given me rather vigorous adjustments, twisting, pulling and what I describe as wrenching my neck. Those adjustments did help some but left me more nervous with anticipation of what was to come, esp. on my neck, as I would always tense up. I have been going to Dr. Amanda for 3 1/2 years and my experience has been nothing short of amazing. I started seeing Dr. Amanda last year. I went in due to hip and knee pain. At times I found it difficult to walk from the extreme pain. Dr. Amanda put me on a plan and within a couple months I was feeling significantly better. She is caring, gentle and knows what she is talking about. I have been seeing Dr Amanda for two years and am thrilled at how much she has been able to help my back and hip pain.
