A couple of years ago, I thought I'd hurt my shoulder. I was in terrible pain all the time, and physical therapy, heat, massage, and even pain killers didn't help! My massage therapist suggested I see Dr. Amanda, and boy, am I glad I did! Working with both Dr. Amanda and Dr. Tom, we discovered that it was my spine out of alignment that was causing the agony in my shoulder. They worked absolute miracles, and I finally got true pain relief. In another issue, I had a terrible accident and cut a tendon between my thumb and wrist that required surgery to fix. Afterwards, I was despairing of ever getting my full range of motion back in that hand, even with therapy. I asked Dr. Amanda if she could adjust it, and she began working on my wrist and hand as well. Within two weeks I had approximately five times the range of motion as I had gotten in six weeks of physical therapy. Dr. Amanda is extremely strong and competent -- don't let her petite Homecoming Queen good looks fool you! -- I have seen many chiropractors over the years, and she is absolutely the best. Dr. Tom is wonderful as well, and I see him occasionally when she is not available. Their practice is lovely and up-to-date, and they are always willing to help. I have recommended them to friends and family, and will continue to do so. They are fantastic! read more

I have experienced care with several chiropractors throughout my life that have helped with movement, but none have ever addressed the extreme chronic pain I have lived with, caused by a severe spinal injury from a car accident I survived as a child. Not only has Dr. Amanda stabilized my spine, she has also helped to reduce my pain by at least 90%. I have more energy, significantly less pain, a stronger body and can work harder than I would have ever hoped to. There are no words strong enough to thank Dr. Amanda for the pain relief I have experienced! I have referred countless people to see both Dr. Amanda and Dr. Tom and will happily continue to do so. They have a warm, professional office with friendly staff members, affordable fees (even without insurance), and are easy to communicate with. I appreciate Dr. Amanda's knowledge and experience, as well as the time she spent to educate me on the differences between the Gonstead techniques that are so effective for my body, and the past chiropractic experiences that were less effective. read more

The Back Doctors' Tom Rammel has been my chiropractor since I moved to Reno in 2009. I specifically sought a chiropractor trained in the Gonstead method and the Rammels are the only local chiropractors practicing the Gonstead method that I have found. Tom has been able to keep my neck, spine, shoulders, elbows, wrists, ribs, knees, ankles and all of the above for my family members in line. Tom is quite capable of finding what's out of line and fixing it. I have been well cared for by seeing Gonstead chiropractors since 1999. It does require visits every couple weeks, but it's worth it to maintain my optimal health. Over the years, I have noted that chiropractic care has been effective at remediation of many different symptoms: various referred pains in knees, feet, etc. plantar fasciitis symptoms gone! carpal tunnel symptoms gone! competent analysis of my knee's torn meniscus in 2010 and correct prognosis as to its' subsequent healing. I was happy to avoid surgery. read more

I have been seeing Dr Amanda since her and her husband started their practice. I had arthritic pain in my hands and my daughter suffered from migraines. I had developed lower back pain and was told I would eventually need back surgery. Dr Amanda worked on my spine and lower back and now do not have any problem with back pain or arthritic pain, and my daughters migraines have subsided. My son was diagnosed with MS and since has been seeing Dr Amanda for tingling in his hands and feet. She has worked with him and he feels great. He will have MS the rest of his life but he no longer has the tingling. The Back Doctors has worked wonders for my family. I am so thrilled to have this team as my doctors. read more

I always thought that chiropractors were quacks. That is what I was always told by my doctors as I was growing up. I also had tried a few and had bad results. I was having severe neck and back pain and was consulting with a neurosurgeon to see if I could get relief, then I met Amanda. Dr. Amanda Rammel is who saved me from surgery. I went there on the recommendation of a nurse when I ws having numbness in my arm and hand. That was two years ago and I still am going. Amanda has treated me for my back and neck. I have not had any surgery and the pain is no longer present. Her staff is wonderful and I look forward to my bi-monthly appts. Go see Amanda to get you "back" on the right track. read more

I was referred to Dr. Tom by a friend. I have had back issues ever since I was in a car accident a few years ago. He has been awesome. I continued to see him through my pregnancy and it really helped with my headaches and the numbness I was having in my hands and wrists. I found out toward the end of my pregnancy that my baby was breech and Dr. Tom suggested I see Dr. Amanda. She did something called the Webster Technique and when I went to see my OB the following week, my baby had turned and was head down! Thanks to her I didn't have to have a C-section! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Tom and Dr. Amanda. Their receptionists are fantastic too! read more

You know you are going to a great place when you can't decide which doctor is better! They are both amazing at adjusting and truly love what they do. I love the techniques they use. My husband and daughter both go to The Back Doctors as well. You have a foot problem? Well let me tell you...I was ready for bunion surgery and Dr. Amanda started working on my feet and I feel great. I have sent friends and even a few strangers to see her for their foot issues. And Dr. Tom does an amazing job as well. Not only is the office a relaxing place to visit, the staff is sweet, efficient and caring. I promise you won't be disappointed if you give them a try! read more

I was 28 weeks pregnant when I tweaked my back to the point that I couldn't walk unassisted. I was referred to Dr. Amanda by my sister and within the first five minutes of seeing me she knew exactly what the problem was. Within the first three visits I was able to walk again and within the first two weeks I was feeling better than I had before I started going. Once I got to a point where she felt she had fixed the problem that I went in for she gave me the option of when to come back. There was no pressure to come in every week or when it wasn't necessary. I will definitely refer Dr. Tom and Dr. Amanda to anyone who needs back pain help! read more

I've experienced chiropractic on and off throughout my adult life. All the chiropractors I've gone to have given me rather vigorous adjustments, twisting, pulling and what I describe as wrenching my neck. Those adjustments did help some but left me more nervous with anticipation of what was to come, esp. on my neck, as I would always tense up. And after those adjustments my neck would usually hurt for a couple days. Dr. Tom's method of training is so gentle. I can truly relax which allows him to give me a better treatment. I'm actually amazed that this method is so gentle, yet gives me relief from pain. I wish I'd found them years ago! read more

Beginning treatments with Dr. Amanda and Dr. Tom more than four years ago was one of the best things I could have done for my body. After nearly a year of persistent pain in my neck and left arm, I was back to good after a few months of treatments. All this time later, I continue my monthly visits and it's probably my favorite $40 I spend each month! If you're looking for great doctors, look no further! These aren't doctors who wrench and twist your back. They practice a specific method to ensure they target the area causing pain, and heal it. They're a wonderful team, and the office staff are always fun to chat with. read more

I practice mixed Martial Arts on a daily basis and whenever KJN tells me I'm not twisting my hips during a boxing drill or when I'm sparring, I know it's time for me to head over to The Back Doctors for some lower back work. Dr. Tom understands the injuries and tensions related to high impact sports like Martial Arts. My back can become so tight, I get locked up. He's able to quickly get to the areas needing adjustments and help me get back into the studio. I appreciate the balance between their professionalism and casual courtesy when I walk in the door. Thanks Dr's Tom and Amanda! read more

I am 100% proof that they are amazing. I had chronic back pain for 34 years, was not getting around well anymore. I was scheduled to have disc replacement on 2 discs. I drug myself in to see Dr. Amanda 2 years ago because I has some friends that insisted. Within a very short time I was pain free....cancelled my surgery and still have NO pain. She has basically been a life saver!! I am a walking commercial and tell everyone about her and her methods. The office environment is wonderful and the girls are helpful. I can get in at a moments notice with no waiting! TELL A FRIEND!!! Toni B read more

Dr. Amanda and Dr. Tom are wonderful and have helped me and my kids tremendously! I am most grateful for the help they have given to my 4 year old with his bed wetting issues. He was adjusted a few times by Dr. Amanda and Dr. Tom and he has been having consecutive dry nights every since! It has boosted his confidence so much and for that I am forever grateful! Dr. Amanda has also helped me greatly with my low back and hip issues so I can continue to do the things I love to do! Thank you! And what a caring and helpful front office staff they have as well! :) read more

I started seeing Dr. Amanda last year. I went in due to hip and knee pain. At times I found it difficult to walk from the extreme pain. Dr. Amanda put me on a plan and within a couple months I was feeling significantly better. She is caring, gentle and knows what she is talking about. I started taking my 7 year old son to her and Dr. Tom. He ran differently and had digestive issues. We found out his hips were twisted badly. He is a different boy now, he moves normally. Thank you Dr.'s Amanda and Tom! read more

I have been seeing Dr Amanda for two years and am thrilled at how much she has been able to help my back and hip pain. I had gotten to the point that I was in a significant amount of pain all the time and after only a couple of months I felt so much better! I now see her every other month but since I just got health insurance it will be once a month, which should be all I need to keep feeling great. If you are having any issues with pain, I would recommend that you give them a try. They are GREAT! read more

I started seeing Dr. Amanda while I pregnant. She was able to completely get rid of my headaches, swollen ankles and general achiness all caused by the pregnancy. Even after the baby came, I still continue my visits and even have the baby adjusted! (Such a happier baby!) I have also been adjusted by Dr. Tom. They are both compassionate and listen to what you say to give the best service/treatment possible. I highly recommend The Back Doctors! read more

The Back Doctors are amazing! They are Gonstead practitioners and if you don't know what that is- you need to try it! They only adjust what needs to be adjusted and nothing more. I prefer Dr. Amanda for my back and Dr. Tom for my neck. The front office staff is knowledgeable, helpful and genuinely interested in how you are doing. The only chiropractors in Reno, Nevada that you need to see is Dr. Tom and Dr. Amanda. Thank you for being in business! read more
