But when I had a known defect, and it cost me $2,000 to fix on the road at a dealer (and 2 nights hotel over a weekend after being towed from middle of nowhere), they just lied. They promised to get back to me. I understand being busy, so I waited for salesman to return call. Then I escalated to manager on duty when I stopped in store (and returned their inventory control fobs). No response after 4 phone calls. Then I escalated to Sales manager. Promise to resolve and work with service manager. Multiple calls later no response since before Memorial day. We are now well past 4th of July and looking hard at Labor Day. Even if they would not honor the problem, I asked if they would reach out to Subaru of America on my behalf to see they support. So 2.5 out of 5 for commitment to customer. The part that really frustrated me is they screwed up filling my license plate transfer for 3 months that they charged for. That set me up for an Deerfield cop with ALPR to give me a ticket that took me hours and hours of time at: - the Secretary of State, - talking to my insurance company, - talking to McGrath (at various levels and waiting for someone else to be in 'tomorrow'), - talking to my lawyer, - calling Springfield office of Secretary of State, and - a whole day to drive up to Waukegan for the ticket costing me more gas, tolls and a day of work. So 1 out of 5 for following their contracted, legal, fiduciary duty to file paperwork with State of Illinois (by simple computer website). I hate seeing a License plate holder from any of the McGrath dealerships on cars around Chicagoland. TLDR: They lie and don't follow up to their commitments.

I came in after having had my neighborhood mechanic confirm an AC problem was probably a dealer warranty issue (warranty extended by Honda due to possible production defect). Call in appointment (rather than web) was recommended to properly set up the warranty repair. Scheduler took my info so that a service rep could properly set things up - Fernando called me back after and set me up for early morning Friday. (He also checked with me if I wanted anything else done without a hard pitch.) Got checked in and it was estimated 5 hr job and so I had shuttle service drop me off at home. In the afternoon, Fernando did give me an update that their equipment was down to recharge it, so it would be finished Sat morning. (It was ok with me - I expected complications and didn't have plans Friday night or Sat morning.) Sat morning - all set got a call (Fernando again - consistency), arranged shuttle pickup. Got a write up that included multi-point check up on the car which indicated no issues other than the brake pads which they did not inspect. (no made up issues for more service - my mechanic and I are pretty on top of things) Happy here that after AC was working for 8 years that Honda came through on their warranty extension. Been going to this dealership under one ownership or another since 1997 for three different Hondas.

Exceptional service and real advocacy…read more Taking a car in for repairs is stressful, and I expected the high costs most people face. That was not my experience at Mazda Autobarn. My 2018 CX-5 had only 55,000 miles, yet repeated evaluations uncovered a cracked head gasket and two more major repairs, work that could have cost me thousands. My service advocate, Katie Wishnoff, treated me as more than a customer and refused to let me face those costs alone. With Service Manager Victorino Maristela, she worked with District Manager Mike Apps and District Service Manager Lisa Kavesh to get my repairs approved by Mazda. In the end, I paid only a fraction of what I expected. Technician Bryan Flores performed all of the repairs and returned my car in excellent condition. Thank you to owner Vivien Fisher and the whole team. Katie is a true asset, and I will gladly recommend Mazda Autobarn to anyone.

It was a decent experience then, but it was an excellent experience now. We even used their service department and never had an issue. We initially were going to buy at a dealership closer to our new home, but they just couldn't match up to what we were looking for and it felt icky. So we went back to Evanston. The lot at the dealership itself is a bit small and doesn't hold all of the cars in inventory. So as we were looking for the perfect vehicle, we realized that the right cars were at their other lot behind Target. So we had them find the 3 we were considering and pull them out for us to check out. The one we went there for missed a few boxes on our wish list, but the new soul red CX70 with the moonroof was exactly what we were after. Lastly, was the financing, we actually went in expecting to buy at 4.9 percent and they ended up financing at 1.9 percent. That value is really hard to find! The price was right, the interest rate was right, and the car was right. This has been a pleasure.

I had driven for a year with my Jaguar XFR having trouble downshifting from second to first at stop lights. Another shop in Des Plaines said it would be $3,000 to $5,000 to open up the trans and do a visual inspection. This shop agreed that it may be that however they would see if there are other ways to Fix the car and they would evaluate the transmission with special scanning computers first. I'm so happy to have brought it to them because they fixed it in the matter of an afternoon, without needing to open the transmission. They reset the adaptations (which Jaguar wanted $$$$) but then refused to take the car due to mandatory $325 for inspection only. These guys are GREAT and successfully reset adaptation and gave me a print out of fault codes. MIKE said give it 500 miles to test and then call if any problems. Well Mike Thank You it has been over 1,000 miles now and it is perfect without shifting problems and for a fraction of the cost. Everything was a fraction of the cost and done professionally. I scheduled my fathers Audi which they also helped with tremendously. These guys are and will be my transmission specialists forever. It really couldn't get easier or better. I'm impressed! I know a bit more about the car business…read morehaving been around dealerships and my late husband owning a shop. For me years ago repairs were easy, I just gave him the keys. If we didn't it, he'd send it off to someone and it would get done. We weren't a body shop, nor a detail place, but we knew people. But that was some time ago. Those people are now retired or have passed on. So I'm left to my own resources, asking around and internet research (reviews.) I bought my SUV and there was a slight gap at the bumper after about a month, I did take it back and they just pushed it back. Never looked right. but it was okay. Well now this time I did it backing into a garage there was this wrought iron basket, not mine. My bumper caught it and it pulled away. It looked bad and couldn't be ignored. What's damaged, I don't know, do I need a new bumper because something got damaged behind it, again, no clue. I came across Carrectly, was impressed by the reviews, also was impressed by the pics of Dixon P's bumper repair. So I sent an email requesting a quote for the repair. Oliver replied fast with an accurate quote and information. He also answer all questions I had. I decided to give them a try. So glad I did! How much time is wasted on dropping off your vehicle? With them none, same for pick up. Yuri was so pleasant and helpful, I inquired about getting a detail, specifically the inside. It really needed it. He gave me some info, but said I should speak to Oliver. At first I was going to go mini, but then went full. When I inquired he told me what they do for each, there was no upsell, no pressure. I will say it looks beautiful. I also had them do some touch up where the paint came off. The gave the exterior a very good wash. I'm very pleased with the whole process, and recommend them highly. I'm proud to be seen with my vehicle again, instead of walking away quickly. You know how it is when you ride looks trashed. So glad I made this choice.
