This bar is awesome and our bartender was amazing. I am leaving this post to review their karaoke dj from last night 4/4/2026. I believe his name was ryan but I'm not sure. This DJ was extremely rude to us. On our first song he scolded us for putting songs in the queue, which is the point of karaoke. I have no issue with interchanging folks to sing so that it's fair. He made many rude comments when we were on stage. After a few of us performed he said "okay now let's get the energy up on this next song". The song in question was 'you're a mean one Mr. Grinch'. Which I imagine was pretty embarrassing for him. Every other song was him and his friend singing and unfortunately they sounded horrible. I like this bar a lot but I'll never expose myself to a terrible karaoke evening like this again. I really hope auricle finds a karaoke dj who is talented and kind. read more

I recently saw Drew Hastings and Costaki Economopoulos perform during The Stansbury Love Stinks Comedy Show on Valentine's Day. First, in the interest of full disclosure, this review is limited to my experience with the venue. I didn't order drinks from the bar, which is why I decided that I would be relatively generous with the rating I gave it. I figure, if I didn't use the full range of services here, I shouldn't penalize this venue too harshly simply out of my own ignorance. The venue itself is nice, clean, and cozy. The Stansbury Show sold out two shows here and the packed house definitely gave this place a lively vibe. For the comedy show, the venue put out rows of folding chairs, which was fine, but also a little cramped. I found a seat on the end, which gave me a little more leg room then most people, but I imagine I would've felt a bit cramped had I chosen a middle seat. On the other hand, given the space they had to work with, I think the layout they had was probably close to the best they could do. For future shows, I'd suggest incorporating a little more leg room, if possible. The show, by the way, was great. I enjoyed both the opener and the headliner. Stansbury and Fantone were excellent MCs. I think I'd come out just to see them do a set of their own. Parking is available right next to the building, which is nice. But, if you're unfamiliar with the area and you haven't used Google Street View to look up this place in advance, you might miss this place at first glance. The Auricle is attached to The Metropolitan Centre, which (from what I can tell online) is a multi-purpose event space with a large ballroom and a rooftop patio - think wedding receptions, etc. In any case, The Auricle itself is on the west side of the building closer to Dewalt Ave and 6th Street NW, which isn't immediately obvious when you enter the lot off of Cleveland Ave NW. The only reason I downgraded this venue by one star is because I think The Auricle should post a sign indicating that parking for The Auricle is specifically allowed in this lot. A sign in the bathroom poked fun at drinking domestic beers. From that I gather that this may be a good place to find foreign and/or craft brews. Again, I didn't drink here this time, so you'll have to investigate that on your own. Speaking of the bathroom, one last thing is worth noting: the bathroom was clean, but the only urinal in the men's room wasn't draining properly. Someone should get that fixed. read more

When it comes to Canton venues, it's the best sounding and cleanest. Low drama for sure.

This is mostly a response to Brian S's review of the Auricle. I would have to agree with his observation about live sound in general, people usually try to make up for lack of quality with quantity. It is certainly not just an issue at the Auricle but in many small venues. It is however an exaggerated issue in this room because the stage is set up horizontally and there is an extreme off axis issue with the sound. So if you're standing off to the side (which over half of the room is) things are quiet you probably can't even hear the mains but if you walk in front of the stage or "on axis" with the mains, all of a sudden you're being blasted out of the room. This coverage issue combined with the lack of absorption in the room, along with the cheap subwoofers which are typically over driven into complete harmonic distortion makes for a very fatiguing environment to be in for any extended period of time. Frankly whenever I go there on a "dance night" and pop music is being played what I mostly hear is the 2nd harmonic louder than the fundamental notes from the outdated kick bins (they're not subwoofers). For the amount of people that go there you'd think they could afford to upgrade to better subwoofers. Sounds like someone trying to blast a cheap car stereo up too loud. Other than that the venue is very nice. You can get cheaper beer down the street though. read more

Great place. Always have a great time there. All of the dafts are craft beers. And the sound is modern and quite awesome. Be it live show, dance night, or just drinks the Auricle is a lot of fun. Oh, and the jute box is quarter a song. Can't beat that read more

The Auricle - Music Venues Near Me - Canton, Ohio

The drinks were mixed poorly. The venue layout is boring. The cover band was horrible.

Pros: As far as music clubs go, this one is cleaner and nicer than average. Parking is easy (nothing but tumble weeds blowing through downtown Canton after dark) and there is enough seating for a good sized crowd. Bar is clean, organized and fairly well stocked. Cons: The primary purpose of the room is to showcase musical acts which means room acoustics are critical. The low ceiling helps the acoustics but there are a lot of hard, reflective surfaces that could be softened up with some treatment. But worse yet, the night I was there the sound guy was making the classic mistake of equating quantity with quality. They need to learn that LOUDER IS NOT BETTER, even with rock music. Once the sound is ramped up over the level of a jet engine, it becomes very difficult to hear instruments in detail, especially the vocals. Sound engineers, if I can't hear and understand the vocals, you are failing at your job and you are not delivering what I paid for...to be able to hear the band and not a mush of overdriven, intermodulated noise. And this is not just an issue of comfort and quality of music, it is a serious health issue because I guarantee you that any human subjected to those kinds of noise levels (110 dB?) is going to sustain short term and possibly even permanent hearing loss. If you ask me, it takes a cruel (or at a minimum a very uneducated) person to rob the long term hearing ability of kids just out trying to have a good time. read more

It is a nice place. Pretty much what you would expect for a small venue.

Not a bad venue - love the actual set-up (stage, decor, vibe, and back patio) and I love the acts they bring in (My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and Jucifer, for example) but something is amiss with both the acoustics and DJ sets in between bands. Sometimes the music kills the vocals or the bass is too much - and the music in between sets is often random and mood killing. Fun little spot if they can tweak those items. read more

Fantastic Craft Beer selection and relaxed atmosphere where you can go relax and talk with your friends. It has an awesome patio and truly wonderful staff! If you haven't gone to check it out you absolutely should! Friday nights they have dance night which is fantastic and they have karaoke on certain Saturdays for anyone who loves to go out and get on the mic. We were in town for a night, and discovered this place after wandering in and out of a few other bars in the area. This one was by far the best. We didn't leave til last call. Wasn't a busy night from what we were told but we had 13 in our group, so it worked perfect for us. The guys in my group loved the ping pong table. They were short handed with one bartender but he was amazing at keeping up with us and never getting annoyed when everyone was trying to place their order at the same time. I have to say he was a great bartender, and was ready with drink suggestions. Prices were fair. The place was clean, clean enough I took my heels off at one point and walked in my socks...shhh long night of bar hopping. I would definitely return if I'm back in town!! read more
