This is the worst restaurant in Kingston. I wouldn't eat here normally but sometimes have to as it's one of few food options at Kingston general hospital.
I got in line for a burger at 4:30
The Tim Hortons and the cafeteria are always short staffed always.
There was no soup available yet again. This is a constant occurrence. Sometimes at 1pm there's none left. How hard is it to defrost soup.
The grill closes at 5pm for the holidays (which is ridiculous) and Tim hortons doesn't sell any actual food after breakfast unless you want a bagel.
My burger was pre cooked and just needed to be heated up.
My burger got put in the grill at 4:38. The child that took my order then said "I'm going to get some water" and forgot to write out a chit for my order, which was forgotten about until 4:50. Now my pre cooked burger has been on the grill for way to long, but I don't have enough time to wait for another one and I already paid or I would have just walked out.
Finally at 452 I get my burger, then I have to wait in the long Tim Hortons line because the 2 cash registers for people not getting Tim Hortons are never open. If someone had bothered to give me a chit I could have pre paid (but still would have had to wait in 2 separate line ups because this place is horribly set up and managed)
I like the fact that the managers name and number are on the receipt. Maybe the manager should work some weekends so the staff actually does some work.
This cafeteria used to be run by the hospital kitchen staff. It has gone way downhill since then in terms of food quality, value, speed and staff competence. read more
