I stopped by the day before to meet the bride (who ended up not showing due to car problems) and chatted with Linda, one of the owners, who was doing a wonderful job of decorating the tables. She was not supposed to be there the next day for the reception (staff would be there), but she came in to make sure the bride was satisfied and that the bar had everything we needed. The facility supplies several bars, but the bride forgot to bring her coolers. Linda helped me and the other bartender find things (a big metal bowl and a styrofoam cooler) to cool the beer and wine and she did not leave until she was sure that everything was under control, and she was helpful when I had to call her later that evening. Also, there was plenty of parking, there is a big (clean) kitchen, ice is available, the bars are nice (and can be moved anywhere), and the bathrooms are clean. Also, the rental fees are reasonable and they are building a pavilion and will have cabins ready soon so it will be perfect for family reunions. I highly recommend this venue.

Traffic is honestly usually nonexistent, which is amazing for an event of this caliber. They do a great job with keeping folks moving and parking in an orderly fashion. The grounds themselves are okay. Not very level and there are some significant hills going from the main entrance, up the hill, back down to the midway. But, it's nothing most people probably couldn't handle. If you're mobility-minded, though, you might want to consider this. There is ample handicap parking on the grounds, though, but getting around could be a challenge. Otherwise, it's rustic as you might expect. I really like that they saved the big tractor guy from the old store in Annapolis where the (now defunct) Toys R Us used to be. It brought back a lot of memories seeing it there again, but now bearing a big welcome sign. So, yeah, overall... it's a good space for what it gets used for. I can't complain. I imagine other events have probably the same experience.

And you wait in line. We waited about 45mins before our group of roughly 20 went into the Haunted Barn walked down a lil hill to the mini maze, and we all loaded up in the trailer for the hayride. Please dress for the occasion, it was 43 degrees out and they don't have space heaters outdoors or fire pits etc to keep you toasty wok you wait. Although a fire pit and selling s'mores kit would've been another selling point. They did have apple cider, canned sodas chips candy and popcorn for sale. I'd suggest pack your own snacks and drinks. Oh and they had glow sticks for the kids. Organization could've been a bit better, lighting to the restroom would've been nice and more scary props. And that god awful smoky smell from the fog machine or whatever was horrendous like old fireworks just bad.

There is a charming bridal suite in one barn with beautiful vintage furniture including a vanity for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready and take the most amazing photos. Opposite of the suite is the most adorable bar where your caterer can set up for drinks. The main barn is beautiful, with natural light pouring through the sides and it's huge, with tons of room for decorations and personal touches. We used it for our ceremony and it was stunning. The property seems endless, as there is tons of space for tents of any size for a reception or just a set up under the stars in the summertime. There are winding paths and a clearing in the woods that is beautiful for a ceremony or first look. There is even a fire pit, which we set up a s'mores bar four our guests near. Besides the scenery itself, Rick and Terry are amazing hosts. They take great care of their brides and grooms and make sure to keep in contact, making sure everyone is on the same page. The vendors they recommended took great care of us as well. They let us use hay bales to make cute furniture and a lot of other decor they owned themselves, to add to our wedding decor. When our coordinator slacked, they picked up and helped with EVERYTHING. I would recommend this venue to anyone for a wedding, photo shoot, or anything else needing an outdoor setting.

The wedding wasn't big; there were about 60 guests + a wedding party of 10 or so. I felt there was sufficient capacity for this sized wedding, but anything bigger and the place would have felt claustrophobic. The manor is very charming and obviously historic, with creaky floors. The weather was favorable that day for an outdoor wedding in the garden behind the house. Since the manor is made up of a couple smaller rooms and then 1 large dining room, I imagine the wedding would have been moved to the dining room if it had rained. I believe the bride and groom used the in-house catering, including hors d'œuvres passed around for about an hour between the wedding ceremony and dinner. My favorite hors d'œuvres were the mini grilled cheese sandwiches served with cups of tomato soup. They also passed around sweet potato pancakes, chicken skewers, and shrimp skewers. The sweet potato pancakes were really sweet--more of a dessert than the others. When they opened the dining room for dinner, each table was set up with a starter salad and a bread basket. The dinner consisted of 3 stations: one with grilled salmon served with rice and grilled vegetables, one with gourmet pasta bar, and one with short ribs. The guests were directed to the buffet/stations on a table-by-table basis. The pasta bar in particular got backed up since it was made-to-order, so I wound up getting the ribs and salmon and then going back to the pasta bar once it cleared up. My favorite was the salmon, since it was filling without being too heavy, but I did enjoy the pasta bar, which had a good selection of vegetable toppings. The manor was well-maintained, and the unisex bathrooms were clean and well-supplied. However, there were only 2 of them, so there was inevitably a constant line in the hour or so following dinner. The bride and groom had informed us there were 30 parking spaces at the manor as well as plenty of free street parking nearby. Since the manor is located in a largely residential area, the street parking was pretty easy. Overall, from a guest's point-of-view, this was a really lovely place to hold a relatively simple small-to-medium-sized wedding.
