The ceremony was beautifully decorated with a chandelier at the top of the tent. It's a great option if you're looking to get married outside but concerned about weather. For the women and elderly at least, you do have to watch your steps when going outside since it's a bit of a cobblestone path in heels or those with poor balance. They do however have handicap access with a ramp. Happy for my cousin and wonderful service!

The perk of this venue is you have on-site staff for your vendors or wedding planner to contact for any questions AND the venue is open from 8am-midnight! All my vendors were so happy and thankful for that, so they didn't have to rush set up or anything like that. The venue itself is beautiful; we had to do a room flip which was so cool how they magically did that so quickly. The furniture that was already there was great and the outside patio was so relaxing for cocktail hours. The restrooms were so clean and the studios for the people getting married were perfect! Overall, this venue was perfect, especially in case it rained, which it was supposed to, but it thankfully didn't. Parking was a little crazy for most, but that's going to be anywhere in a city area, thankfully all parking spots were at least free, so no one had to pay or worry about being ticketed. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone any day!

We also loved that our caterer brought in their truck utilizing the parking spaces in the front, which really made the outdoor patio feel more private and connected to the party inside. Considering that all vendors are booked independently of the venue, it made DIYing our wedding easier. Scheduling walkthroughs and mapping out the venue floor plan with Rachel was a breeze and Gemma was quite responsive via email to answer any questions you had. Booking our date was especially easy given that we requested a weekday at their hourly rate. On the day of, Tyler was the acting venue manager and was also great and easy to work with. If we had to do it all over again, we would still choose MSB. Thank you for making our day the best day of our lives!

Once I found her, simple questions like 'where do I put the cupcakes' and 'what time does the event start' were met with cold, short replies from Angie. She asked why the cupcake boxes weren't labeled and I told her my client did not request it, I was only told to make the cupcakes and deliver them. The flavors were pretty obvious but I wrote them down anyway. She then implied that I wasn't prepared, again in a condescending tone. Certainly not how I wanted to be treated after spending 6 hours making cupcakes! I was actually considering having an event here, but if I have to deal with Angie I definitely won't be booking them.

The wedding wasn't big; there were about 60 guests + a wedding party of 10 or so. I felt there was sufficient capacity for this sized wedding, but anything bigger and the place would have felt claustrophobic. The manor is very charming and obviously historic, with creaky floors. The weather was favorable that day for an outdoor wedding in the garden behind the house. Since the manor is made up of a couple smaller rooms and then 1 large dining room, I imagine the wedding would have been moved to the dining room if it had rained. I believe the bride and groom used the in-house catering, including hors d'œuvres passed around for about an hour between the wedding ceremony and dinner. My favorite hors d'œuvres were the mini grilled cheese sandwiches served with cups of tomato soup. They also passed around sweet potato pancakes, chicken skewers, and shrimp skewers. The sweet potato pancakes were really sweet--more of a dessert than the others. When they opened the dining room for dinner, each table was set up with a starter salad and a bread basket. The dinner consisted of 3 stations: one with grilled salmon served with rice and grilled vegetables, one with gourmet pasta bar, and one with short ribs. The guests were directed to the buffet/stations on a table-by-table basis. The pasta bar in particular got backed up since it was made-to-order, so I wound up getting the ribs and salmon and then going back to the pasta bar once it cleared up. My favorite was the salmon, since it was filling without being too heavy, but I did enjoy the pasta bar, which had a good selection of vegetable toppings. The manor was well-maintained, and the unisex bathrooms were clean and well-supplied. However, there were only 2 of them, so there was inevitably a constant line in the hour or so following dinner. The bride and groom had informed us there were 30 parking spaces at the manor as well as plenty of free street parking nearby. Since the manor is located in a largely residential area, the street parking was pretty easy. Overall, from a guest's point-of-view, this was a really lovely place to hold a relatively simple small-to-medium-sized wedding.

The power went out 3 times while we were there including during an entrance, stopping the music. The bathrooms were incredibly dirty and smelled horrible, one of the sinks had an old valve which broke and we were forced to pay 50 dollars in damages for their faulty equipment. While the bartender was good making drinks incredibly slow and the line grew fast. The worst of all was that my truck which was parked three spots from the main entrance got parts stolen from the back during the party, which their security outside didn't notice and was supposedly out of view of their cameras. Overall it was a negative experience and I would not recommended this location for any sort of wedding or party.
