Great location and delicious food! I attended a graduation party there this past Friday and enjoyed the settings, the food and the staff who were very accommodating, and professional! The location overlooked the water, and the indoor area was huge, with plenty of space for a huge dance floor. The Bad: They waited until the week of my wedding to tell us that the bridal suite, which was a huge reason as to why we chose this venue, would be off limits. We had been planning for 5 months, and a lot of it was planned around being able to get dressed at the venue. The bridal suite was the perfect place for the bride to get ready and take photos with our photographer. The groomsmen (who also had a seperate photographer) were going to use the area behind the bar to get ready for the ceremony. What ended up happening was the bride/bridesmaids had to reschedule vendors, which some couldn't. They were moved into the groomsmen area, and we had to get ready before we came. We were unable to use our photographer at the venue or take pictures of us getting ready for the ceremony. I (the groom) did my final touches of getting ready in the area where the food was being set up. We were comped $500.00 for our troubles, which to me wasn't nearly enough, but with a week until the wedding it wasn't like we had much room to negotiate. The good: The venue as I said was beautiful. Even the outside portion where we had the ceremony was covered. The water and boats in the back ground looked amazing. My one critique is that they didn't get anyone to scrub the bird poop from the docks, where i'm sure every bridal party goes to take pictures. The staff really takes a lot of the guess work out of everything for the couples, and they have a ton of options to chose from when it comes to decor. They take care of the food, and even the cake which was absolutely delicious (we had carrot cake/red velvet). The day of we had a "Day of coordinator" Lauren. She helped keep everything on time and running as smooth as possible. Her and her staff really did a good job handling our wedding. One thing that my wife and I really liked was how they used a divider to cut off the room for cocktail hour, that way nobody was sitting at the tables prior to eating. It was also a good way for the families to mix in, because it was a lot of there first times meeting each other. Overall: Had we been able to use the bridal suite, this would have been a 5 star wedding. I understand that things happen, but it was poorly handled, and they didn't seem to want to make accommodations. Our wedding pictures were supposed to tell the story of our special day, but that couldn't happen and I still had to foot the bill for the extra photographer even though he couldn't fully do his job due to the circumstances. Changing plans with a vendor the week before a wedding is almost impossible, and the fact that we were put in that situation really bothered me. You only get 1 shot to get everything right on your wedding day, and that last minute change up really effected how I felt about the folks running the venue. read more

The Anchor Inn is such a beautiful venue! It has a ceremony space that looks out into the water. Its covered which good for shielding the sun and rain (even tho the rain must would still get to you). The reception hall was stunning inside. The layout was great. It was spacious and all the windows let in so much natural light. The staff was very helpful and kept the place clean. The only thing that didn't impress me was the food. I didn't enjoy the cocktail hour selection or the dinner. There was some kind of artichoke and cheese dip for cocktail hour. It wasn't bad but there were a few inedible pieces of the artichoke in the dip. For dinner, it was grilled chicken, potatoes, carrots, and a salad. The chicken and salad was ok but I had a few undercooked potatoes and the carrots needed a bit more time to steam. Despite the food, I would still recommend this hall. I'm pretty sure they have other food options that would taste better. read more

This venue is gorgeous on its own. Catering by Uptown is really the issue, I guess they own the property so you are forced to deal with them. On the day of my wedding as I am walking into my bridal suite, they were showing another couple the space. I was stressed to the max and they are using my wedding as an opportunity to show off their space and sell to clients. I paid for the decorations and to have it set up, it was audacious. When I was shown the space I was told I could not come during other peoples weddings and that made a lot of sense to me, because who the hell would do that. Second...The house directly next to the gazebo area, where you get married outside, was having a massive rager of a party. This included screaming guests and blaring music. My wedding planner went over to ask them to keep it down while we were having the ceremony but NOOOOO, couldn't possible try to be respectful. For the price we paid for this wedding I expected much better. read more

I visited Anchor Inn for a wedding reception on July 23. I have multiple food allergies and was expecting to need to eat food I'd brought. What a delight it was to be served flavorful, beautiful, SAFE food! The salad and dinner were out of this world delicious! The servers were excellent. High praise for them! Thank you! Beautiful venue where the natural scenery lends itself for a wedding. The only downside is..... the weather. I'm used to San Francisco weather. So, that isn't really a reason to take away any points from the Anchor Inn. They don't control the weather. I realize this. Still, sitting outside, perfectly still, not moving a muscle and still "glistening" is unpleasant. The ceremony area is covered and they do have fans, but it's still hot. To offset this, the bride and groom of the wedding I attended had two things I would highly recommend anyone else planning a wedding here do as well.... 1) they handheld fans for the guests to use and 2) ice cold punch to sip while waiting for the ceremony to begin. read more

My daughter was recently married here and even though it was December, we luckily had a 58 degree day so the ceremony was outside. Nothing beats the views for pics! Also, the upstairs bridal area is perfect for all wedding party. The staff (Tracy and Eileen were amazing planners) is great to work with, but be sure to clarify a few things: 1. water glasses should always be refilled, 2. Be sure they understand to use personalized cocktail napkins for serving, 3. Food is great, but the chef needs to go lighter on all sauces, 4. In advance you can suggest and negotiate your wine preference within a certain price point. Josh Cabernet was perfect, 5. If requesting certain wines, have someone actually check out the wines at the beginning of the event (Chardonnay was left out of ours, until I found out), 6. If you'd like a ribbon around the cake, be sure to clarify that in advance, 7. For the Jewish tradition of cutting the challah, they supply a challah, but no one told me that! However, these are all minor issues, and the venue and food are great! By the way, the new construction is all beautiful! read more

I was married at Anchor Inn on November 4, 2018. It was absolutely amazing! From the first time I met with Jeff right until the time I said goodbye to our day of coordinator, Olivia, it was amazing. I thought planning my wedding was going to be the most stressful thing I'd ever have to do and Anchor Inn made it so smooth. Never once did I have to worry. The Anchor Inn is a stunning venue. Working with Carol Goyena at Catering By Uptown was great until she moved away a few months before the wedding. Then I was talking to someone different every time I called. I also did not get calls back or emails back several times, even the week of the wedding. They mixed up some things leading up to the wedding AND the day of that I had to keep correcting, likely because we no longer dealing with just one person. It made me very nervous that it would be a mess. Things ended up working out, thankfully. The guests loved the venue, and especially loved the chocolate fountain and lemon cake. Very very beautiful place on the water. The only thing I was disappointed about was that the beautiful billowing white curtains that were flowing in the breeze when I visited the venue were not there on my wedding day.
