My favorite breakfast: Ashford Skillet, Barry's Irish Tea & Winston's incredible soda bread! Server was kind & attentive. Always feels like home when dining here. Thanks Ashford House!

Great casual restaurant. The Irish selections are on point. Delicious soups .They even have chicken a la king , don't see that often. There are daily specials for lunch and dinner. A convenient Irish market is next door , lots of goods to be had .

awesome little family owned spot serving straight up irish fare for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. we stopped in for breakfast new years weekend and had a great time. the food was delicious, but I could've had just the Guinness bloody mary and been just as happy! We also loved our server, Karen, who was super friendly and we can't wait to come visit her for dinner next! after breakfast we stopped by Winston's Market next door and learned from Amy that both are family owned and operated, and that nearly all the staff are friends or family of the owner in some way. Glad to see a family business that is care of their employees, especially now!

Excellent lunch today at The Ashford House. Our first meal in a restaurant after 3 months because of Covid. They've set up a welcoming, clean, tented outdoor area with well spaced tables. They offer a full menu ranging from Irish specialties to sandwiches. Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant. Face masks are required until you are seated.

On the patio people brought in 2 great dane dogs that were the size of small horses and how is that normal for outside dining anywhere, and people were leaving. Who has to watch dogs shitting by the next table where people are eating? Where are the owners? The same managers walk around clueless. Dont worry, the health dept. will find you out for sure. And to be honest the marketing stuck in my head since seeing the S52 food photos campaign on various social media platforms. Anyway, we walked in at around 2:30 on a Monday. The interior was very calm. The staff were friendly. Our server Sophia, made us feel comfortable. She explained in detailed remarks to our tag team questions. The menu had a few items we needed additional information before we made our selection's , while hungry. I had the cedar plank salmon. Well done. As I tend to do with salmon which is my exclusion choice in all sushi restaurants. I do not like raw salmon. Anyway, the chef, came out with my black cedar planked crispy skin salmon with asparagus and a potato side. Apparently looking for me to send it back, that was the vibe, I said perfect, thank you. He looked at me turned around and walked away without any communication. Klarena, ordered the lobster bisque which got a thumbs up from her picky lobster bisque self. Her grilled octopus had a fresh taste versus current typical packaged octopus from Costco or other food stores. I can walk the walk ,and talk the talk, because I can prepare and grill my own fresh octopus, as I have done a handful of times. The flatbread was excellent. The service was great. Thank you, Sophia. We told you some ghost stories. Now we have to try the neighborhood, Oakbrook , location.

My friend had already told me she would be covering my drinks, so when I was handed a separate $31 bill as I was leaving, I simply asked for clarification. I was not rude, argumentative, or hostile -- I only wanted to understand why I was being charged separately when my friend had been ordering the drinks and also had her own bill. At that point, the bartender/barback, Tim, became extremely aggressive and confrontational. He repeatedly and very loudly slammed his hand on the bar next to where I was standing and yelled at me to leave, saying the bar was closed, even though closing time was still 2 AM. There was absolutely no reason for the interaction to escalate the way it did. As a smaller woman (5'2"), I felt genuinely intimidated by the situation. Tim is a much larger man, and his behavior -- pounding on the bar, yelling, waving his hands, and speaking negatively about me to other customers -- made me feel unsafe and embarrassed in front of the entire bar. I honestly feared the situation might become physical. To be clear, I never refused to pay. I paid immediately once the charge was explained. I did not threaten anyone, become hostile, or cause a scene. I simply stated that there was no reason to treat me that way. Because I felt unsafe, I pulled out my phone and recorded part of the interaction. I do have a video showing him continuing to wave his arms and yell at me to "get out" while I was saying goodbye to my friend, who witnessed the entire incident. What upset me most was not the bill itself, but the level of intimidation and disrespect I experienced over a simple question. The business can review its security footage, as the entire interaction should be on camera. For context, I bartended for 20 years myself, so I fully understand how difficult customers can sometimes be. Even with that experience, I would never treat a patron the way I was treated that night -- especially someone calmly asking about a charge. Based on this experience, I will not be returning. I am hoping management addresses this situation appropriately because behavior like this creates an environment that does not feel safe or welcoming for customers, particularly women. BTW, I did contact their Facebook page and have yet to receive a response.
