Perfect blow out! You'd never guess I have unruly naturally curly hair.
    Nicole C.

I had the pleasure of meeting Shannon who gave me the most perfect blow out EVER! I broke my finger and couldn't do my own hair and it was suggested I call up. I hit the lottery because from what I understand you can not request a certain stylist. She has a huge future ahead of her and this girl was Born with her talent I could tell. She was most confident and beautiful not only outside but inside. Congrats on your graduation and I hope to bump into you again in the future!

Very excited, in October 2012, I start making arrangements to move 3,000 miles & enroll in THIS…read moreschool. Since they only allow u to start a few times all year, I planned on April 1, 2013 the perfect start date. As the end of 2012, I told everyone I talked to at this school NUMEROUS TIMES that I was coming from California and I needed to MAKE SURE I had EVERYTHING I NEEDED TO START ON TIME. BUT Now in the middle of March, 2 weeks before i was trying to start, 7 MONTHS AFTER MY FIRST MEETING AT ARTISTIC ACADEMY, I'm hearing that because my tour was over six months ago, I would have to Re-tour the school before I could even be considered For enrollment. I had missed the tour requirement by 2 weeks, ridiculous!! NOW they wanted me to come back to Retour after I flew out from California to tour Last summer because of their ridiculous policy. I told the school that I'll already toured, and that this is where I wanted to go. NOW they tell me that it didn't matter. I would have to Retour the school if I wanted to attend April 1. Well I already bought a ticket for March 28 To fly. gets worse. NOW they tell me that I needed to be there two weeks before April 1 2013 to tour if i want to attend April 1. NOW after 8 months of calling the school trying to get enrolled, my April 1 start date was not happening Due to my tour expiring. I was really upset after planning this for over a year and already had gone out there to tour the school. The Director told me that I could not start on April 1, because i needed to tour the school. WHY DO I NEED ANOTHER TOUR??? Then the director also tells me I needed to be at the school 1 week before my start date to sign a paper. ARE U SERIOUS? The director told me because I wouldn't be there in time to take the tour and sign some paper by March 26 so I couldn't go to school on the day i had planned on starting for over 9 months now!! My plane ticket was for March 28, but i needed to be there on March 26. LOL FUNNY NO ONE TOLD ME ANY OF THIS AND I TOLD THESE PEOPLE MY SITUATION FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!!! Imagine how I felt standing in an apartment full of boxes, packing to moving 3000 miles away, moving all my stuff out of my California apartment to go to Artistic Academy, to be told by the people at the school that their not going to start me on the day I planned on starting for the past year. I was so upset, on the phone, 3000 miles away. I couldn't believe it. I WAS LIKE ARE, "YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?" I FLEW OUT FROM CALIFORNIA TO TOUR THE SCHOOL LAST YEAR, AND NOW I CAN'T START BECAUSE I NEEDED TO RE-TOUR. WHY?? I'm moving across the country TO GO TO YOUR SCHOOL so why do I need another tour? Why didn't anyone tell me to fly in a week early? Why didn't the people at this school help at all. Well I was Needless to say very upset. I've done so much planning and packing to move 3000 miles to go to THIS SCHOOL. Nobody told me that I needed to be there to the tour the school twice UNTILL it was to late. The director told me that there's nothing she can do. I asked her if i could have a notary sign the paper and i told her i didn't need to re tour but she didn't care. "HER POLICIES" SHE SAID "WOULDN'T LET HER" She told me that I could start on a later date. So after I calmed down, I figured out that I could start on May 6 and go to evening school. I devoted my self to going and I told the director that I WOULD be there on May 6, 2013. Instead of her thinking that I was motivated and determined, she told me that I was threatening her because I said "I will be there" WOW THAT'S INSANE!!! I NEVER THOUGHT IN A MILLION YEARS being DETERMINED AND MOTIVATED.... and saying "I WILL be there MAY 6" would be misconstrued as a threat. Ya she said I was threatening to her, on a phone, 3,000 miles away, in California I was a threat!! That's Crazy and Insane and she has no right to say that. DID SHE EVER STOP AND THINK HOW I FELT, BEING BULLIED AROUND BY THESE PEOPLE AND THEIR POLICES? Well I just had my FINAL meeting with the Director and the Depasquale school. I was really excited and looking forward to going to this school I flew 3000 miles to go, BUT NOW THE DIRECTOR TOLD ME SHE WILL NOT INROLL ME AT ALL. Why i still have no idea. Me and my sister were both going to start on May 6, 2013 and now neither one of us will be attending the school now! The director of the school ruined my future and broke my heart. I am not a threat. I'm just Passionate and determined to finish what I start. And now I have to let everyone know what happended to me so I can vindicate my self. In an industry of people who want to help others. DEPASQUALE DID NOT HELP ME FROM THE MOMENT I SHOWED INTEREST IN THE SCHOOL. They don't treat people with respect. They made me feel like I did something wrong and all I did was ask for help. They didn't let me start school at all. Never will they enroll me. And all I want to know is Why??? when I have so much to give and offer would they take this opportunity away??

Going based off the reviews is definitely not accurate, administration asks multiples student to write a good review to project a certain image to the people who don't actually go to CV. I believe this school is so unorganized, very unprofessional with their employees, all over the place on a daily basis. I witnessed more than 5 situations of bullying and harassment against a couple of girls while I was studying there, nothing was ever seriously done. Every altercation or situation, majority of the time, was always swept under the rug. On my first week, two females were fist fighting and had to get pulled off one another, CV has a " no tolerance" policy for bullying, yet they still allow these situations to occur instead of simply removing the problem out of the equation. I believe they have no clue as to what they are doing, half of the time, the teachers are covering in every classroom, students are on their own due to lack of employees. There is no system set in place at this location, the curriculum is in reverse, teachers are overworked and tired, getting placed to work 11+ hours a day due to employees always calling out or shortage of teachers. I've witnessed the racism the administration has towards certain teachers, the bullying towards they're own employees, Teachers telling students how tired they are about the working situation. Students don't receive good quality education either. Half of the machines are broken, when materials or products are needed, they were almost never available, teachers don't teach and you learn majority of the textbook on your own, classrooms are packed with students having nowhere to sit, stuffing 20+ students all in one little classroom. They focus and prioritize all the unnecessary. It is ridiculous. I do not recommend coming to Christine Valmy in Wayne, NJ.

That being said I know these things and the longer time for service is just more "me" time. This was my first visit to this specific location and I went in for a root touch up. DANIELLAAG was friendly and did a great job. Asking for help if needed and taking guidance when given. I felt comfortable in her chair. Added bonus is the valet service they provide. Very friendly and had my car waiting as I walked out which was top notch service in my opinion. I had a tip already out but now wish I would have tipped them more. Will definitely return when back in the area. Can't beat the prices for salon quality service!!

They repeatedly told me they had not been trained in most things yet. I got a color and cut here. The color was not good, I got a simple black but they didn't dye the bottom of my head so the top is black and the bottom is dark brown. I asked them to put dye there and they said they didn't need to, which was incorrect. They also got some color on my ear which I had to wash off myself. Example of them not being trained enough: The stylist initially tried cutting 4 inches off my hair when I asked for a 1/2 inch trim. She also kept teasing my hair and then trying to comb it out, then making comments about how tangly it is. But teasing hair is what makes it tangled! When she tried brushing it out my hair broke due to the force. I literally had to tell her to stop or else I would leave. She hadn't even started cutting, but a lot of my hair was on the ground from it being broken off by her brushing. On a side note...their receptionist was also very difficult to work with. She said my handwriting was too small and made me write down my info 3 times. I am not sure what the issue is but she had a lot of difficulties reading even when I wrote in large caps. I had to call another receptionist over. The second receptionist apologized telling me the other receptionist lost her glasses and that's why she had trouble reading it. That's fine! But had the original receptionist said that, instead of blaming me for it, we could've handled it better.

They worked hard to give us a good education and always did their best, even when the resources around them weren't ideal. However, I want future students to be aware of some ongoing issues on the administrative side. There is a significant miscommunication between the business office and students, and the processing of graduation paperwork is extremely slow. Many of us have had to wait 4-6 weeks for our paperwork to be sent to the state, which delays being able to schedule our cosmetology or nail technician licensing exams. It almost feels like the paperwork gets "stuck" somewhere, and no one can give a clear answer on the status. Additionally, the facility itself could be better maintained. There were several times when the bathrooms did not have adequate soap or paper towels. The teachers do what they can, but this is clearly an administration and management issue, not an instructor issue. Overall: great teachers, frustrating administration. I hope they address these problems because the students and educators deserve better.

She saw what was done and really couldn't do anything to fix it. The trim was incomplete and each side looks different. It will take 4-6 months for my hair to grow out so it can be corrected. I hope the school takes action.
