This place is the most horrific place in the area. 80% of the teachers are subject to work under terrible circumstances. The other 20% shouldn't be around children. The "director" is a child and has no ability to be a manager. She favors some children and dislikes others. I have seen parents record how she talks to kids. Teachers have been fired for mistreating children. The food doesn't meet state minimum and if you send a child in with a lunch box, 9 times out of 10, your child wont eat and the food gets thrown out. don't go on field trips, its a waste of money and there is no organization. A few parents warned other parents but it always falls on deaf ears, listen to whoever is willing to tell you anything. This place looks upscale and it is anything but that. The owners don't have any interest in this facility they just want the money. The supply choices are getting slim, barely anything is ordered. the toys are broken and old. this corporate company doesn't care who they sell their franchises too, its all about money. the owner has zero childcare education, he also has zero american education. kids are always sick, parents are not held accountable. Kids can bite and hit and smack but if the teachers and directors like them, its ok and its a phase. if they don't like them, then the child is a problem. some teachers wont allow kids to play and they have to sit at the tables until that teacher can count and re count the kids so she can enter her numbers in that stupid app they use. some teachers use a chart to reflect if your child will be in the dog house. basically saying your child is bad and thats not exactly ok in the eyes of the state. Parents have called the state and the corporate office on the women who run the place and on the facility as a whole, nothing has been done. the curriculum isn't followed. don't send your kids here. it will nice at first, until you disagree or say anything. the owner took away insurance and paid time off but kept it for certain employees. its a horrible place that looks pretty. don't fall for it. read more

We have had a very positive experience at TLE and are very happy with our choice several years ago to enroll our then, unborn daughter, in the Infant Program. Our daughter began at TLE when she was just 5 months old and she has learned so much through the years! I feel she is very prepared for public kindergarten as she is beginning to read, knows many sight words, can tie her shoes, and lots of math. She has also grown as a young person, learning her manners, social interaction, rules and consequences, and inner confidence. When it came to enrolling our second daughter, we felt completely confident with TLE! The teachers have always been at the heart of the school's success; they make the children happy, they make the children want to go to school every day, they teach the children new skills and interact with the parents and children, they hug my girls in the morning and calm them when I have to leave to go to work. Both of my children tell me all about their day at school and often share the fun things they did together. They adore their teachers and we are so grateful for such a great and consistent staff at TLE. The administrators also have great, open communication and are a wonderful team. They plan great events for the children (a recycled carnival for Earth Day, a prom and wonderful graduation ceremony for the outgoing kindergardeners and preschoolers). Overall, our family has had a wonderful experience having our daughters here at TLE! the teaching staff and administration are caring and loving to our girls and we appreciate them more than we could say. After reading the below reviews, I'm a little upset. I have NEVER had anything but good things to say about TLE and especially this location. We started our daughter at 14 weeks old and she has flourished through the experience to a very smart 3 yr old. She can count to 20, knows her abc's, was potty trained by TLE at 2.5 years, knows her colors, and loves her teachers. Currently she has Miss Jillian and Miss Catherine and they are phenomenal with their 20+ kids. No matter what time I stop in to pick my daughter up, they are always doing something with the kids and have complete control over the class. Miss Jillian even does all the girls hair nice and pretty after nap time!!! They are neat and organized and always have their creative wheels turning. Over the past 3 years, we have had Miss Melissa, Miss Jenny, Miss Connie, Miss Shanaz, Miss Chrissy, and Miss Janet. We loved them all!!! Each of them taught her a little something along the way. They also were always engaged in the class and our daughter was always picked up clean and happy. They all communicated with us everyday and worked so well with our daughter. They give her love and respect, and taught her so much! I believe a lot of this comes from us being friendly with the teachers and always communicating with them. We let them know when there is something we don't like and what we love, they always strive to be better teachers every day. To the parents who ever had a bad experience with this TLE, I'm shocked, because your experience and ours were complete opposites!!! read more

My 17 month old started here 2 months ago & as a first time mom, who has only had grandma watch my baby girl, I was quite nervous. The first day I dropped her off I was able to watch her on camera and see her interact with her teachers. I could see how they comforted her and made her feel better which put me at ease. I was able to call in and ask how she was doing, just for peace of mind. TLE offers an app on your phone that gives you updates all day long and even sends you photos of activities taking place in the classroom (they make my day)! I never have to worry about breakfast, lunch, snacks or milk because it's all provided and that is such a huge weight lifted off both mom and dad, who have a busy work load. Every morning I ask her "Are you excited to go to school and see Ms. Melissa and Ms. Lauren?" She always says "Yeaaaa!!! Let's go bye-bye mom!" That says a lot to me...Happy baby, Happy Mom. At the end of the day, I knew she would be safe. What I was looking for was normal people who you could have a conversation with and who understand toddlers and the tantrum moments they will have yet they will be cared for and disciplined in a way that will teach them right from wrong. These early developmental years are the most crucial in our children's lives when it comes to building executive functioning so choosing a daycare was not a light decision for my wife and I. We visited many schools before settling on TLE and our decision was based on their playful but well-developed curriculum, their safety-minded attitude, and the attentiveness of the staff to the needs of the children. Over a year later, we can say we that we made the right decision. Both of our daughters have developed wonderfully in their speech, social skills, cognition and manners. Our eldest (3) looks forward to going to school every day and finds it disappointing on weekends when we pass her school and she doesn't get to go inside. We love all our daughters' teachers and rest assured they are well taken care of when we drop them off. Our only regret is that we were not able to start our daughters there earlier. In a home daycare, our eldest was falling behind but TLE has quickly corrected that and brought her to the level she should be at. If you are on the hunt for a daycare, do not overlook this one. read more

Some of these reviews are kind of nuts, honestly. I was an anxious new mother, but this place really changed that for me. Unlike some of you other moms on here (sorry ladies, but really?), I wasn't expecting my child to leave the infant room with a college education, lol. The teachers took excellent care of my girl. She always came home smelling good, looking fresh. Even up until I had to pull her when our family moved down South, she was in toddlers and having a great time. I had a great time speaking to her teachers, they we're attentive and fun. Daycare basically runs us dry financially, but I wasn't expecting my daughter to arrive home a genius each evening. She was clean, happy, and talking non stop on the car ride home every night. I even popped in a few days, unknown to the teachers, and peeked at them on the camera. Every time, sure enough, the kids were either being read a story, singing, playing in centers, etc. She loved school there and it would be my first choice, no hesitation, if I ever came back up to the Succasunna area again. I put my 2yr old in this center and he only lasted there 3mnths. Unfortunately it took me this long to see how awful he was being treated. I had a few issues with specific teachers that I brought up to the director. My child was left with dirty diapers and come home with loaded ones. He was always sitting in a corner crying when I would pick him up which was not his usual behavior. I never saw him playing with toys. Almost as if they dont allow the kids to play in order to avoid cleaning up after them. I caught a teacher yelling at the children like they were dogs. After bringing these situations up to the director, the teacher remained in the room and was actually promoted to temporary lead while a teacher was away on maternity leave. This was my last straw. I pulled him out and moved him to a small daycare on the side of a church and he is as happy as can be. I wish I had asked to view the video from the days of these incidents to see what was truly happening. Breaks my heart to trust someone to care for your child while one must work and get these results. read more

I am so thankful that we sent our daughter to The Learning Experience. Our daughter was diagnosed with a speech delay, because of this she was kicked out of her previous daycare, they declared her a special needs child and said they couldn't care for her. Heartbroken and devastated we met with the workers at the Learning Experience. They listened to our issues and assured us this would not happen in their daycare. Since we have enrolled our daughter here she has been doing so well. They worked with her speech and occupational therapists. Now she is speaking more, singing songs, she's more social, helping out more, and her behaviour has improved. She looks forward to attending every day. Sometimes when she walks into the classroom she gives hugs to her classmates and teachers. My husband and I cannot thank TLE enough for everything they have done. read more

I based my decision to tour and ultimately select this facility largely on the initial reviews I read so I thought I should review it now that we send our child there. I had a very poor experience with another local facility before moving my child here. It was the best decision I ever made. We are only a few months in but it's a night and day difference. The facility is always clean, the staff is mature and experienced, the menu is well rounded, and the curriculum is great as well. This location recently franchised which allows them a bit more control over the changes they are allowed to make. The staff are always available to talk, any issues are addressed quickly, and the communication back and forth is wonderful. I highly recommend you tour this facility. I highly recommend The Learning experience in Ledgewood. My 3 year old daughter has been there since she was eight months old and I have never regretted it. They are my family's true partner in child education and rearing. The management goes above and beyond to make sure my child is healthy, happy, and safe, and the excellent teaching staff makes sure she is always creatively learning and developing life skills to become a well-rounded, good person that will serve her all her life. They keep the children engaged with various activities that challenge their little minds. When we walk through the halls we are greeted by smiles (Peter and Kara) and warm regards and when my wife and I need help they bend over backwards to provide it. After a horrible experience at a daycare closer to home we sent our son here. The staff is wonderful! They great us everyday with a smile and I know I don't have to worry while I am at work. My little guy is excited as soon as we pull in the parking lot and starts to sing about his Miss Maria and Miss Melissa. No longer any tears at drop off! Pricing is fair especially for the area. Not to mention the amazing academic program the children are exposed to. My son has learned so many things such as counting and his abc's at only two! Another plus is that all food is included, so this saves us time and money. My son comes home singing new songs and chattering about his friends and what he does everyday. Our twins go to TLE and love it. We have had them there for 2yrs now. The staff is always friendly, always willing to help, always available to discuss how the kids are doing and how their day went. The facilities are clean, organized and well kept. Lunches are well planned and nutritious. There seems to be a great balance between learning and fun. The administration is fantastic and always available to talk whenever we need to. Karrah, the acting Director is super friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very organized. It's always great to walk in the door and see her there knowing she's working hard for our kids. I live in Roxbury and was attending a daycare there that had high teacher turnover which just didn't work well with my son and daughter. Talking to other moms, they told me well you have to expect that of day cares that's just what happens. I didn't want to believe that so started checking out out all the schools in the area, and fell in love with this school right around the corner in Ledgewood. They have teachers that have been there since the school opened and have been in business for over 10 years! Convenient location for work, safe environment, challenging yet fun curriculum, on site owners which is so important, great directors and teachers. Top notch school in Ledgewood, yet perfect for Roxbury families as well! read more

My son has attended daycare at TLE since he was 14 weeks old. He is now almost 8 months old, and loves going to TLE - he starts smiling as soon as we walk in the door! The people there are always happy to see him and I know that he receives a lot of love and attention throughout the day - not just from his classroom teacher, but from other staff and the director as well. TLE is a place that doesn't just meet kids' basic needs, but also provides emotional and intellectual enrichment, even for infants. I love to see all of the creative projects, activities, and artwork that my son does while at school. My daughter, Jayda, has been going to the TLE Ledgewood location since she was 4 months old. We now have an incredibly bright and happy 2 1/2 year old and I know that the involvement, care, and structure she has been involved in at TLE has been a huge factor! She has progressed through multiple classrooms and teachers, and everyone has been so kind, caring,and attentive! The director especially takes a real interest in each child, so many children run in there every day for hugs and kisses from their Miss Dee-Ann! The Learning Experience in Ledgewood is a wonderful place to send your kids to. the premises are brand new, clean, bright and create a very positive atmosphere. The staff is caring and friendly. The management is attentive to parents and great with kids. They have great educational curriculum and even hand out TLE branded toys, CDs and books for kids to take home. I am so happy I found this place last year after searching in the vicinity and my 4 year old daughter loves to be there. TLE accommodate early and late hours (6:30 in the am till 6:30 at night). Our son Andrew started attending TLE in Ledgewood when he was 16 weeks old. He is now just over 2 years old and he LOVES it. If he is home sick or for a holiday he spends all day asking about his friends and when you ask him who he is going to see at school he starts listing them by name. The teachers are great and have taught him so much in his 2 years there. We looked at so many day care centers before making a decision and we couldn't be happier. My children have been at tle ledgwood for a month now and all the teachers are very caring! I love that I don't have to pack a lunch for my children and on my tour Mrs.Tara the administrator had informed me that when they don't like what is for lunch they give my children other options or I'm allowed to send lunch in on days my children will not eat school lunch. Mrs. Tara the administrator is so nice and has helped me out with a lot of questions I have had She was one of the top reasons why I picked TLE for my children! read more

My 3 1/2 year old daughter has been going to The Learning Experience for 3 years and my 7 month old son for 3 months. We absolutely love it there. The teachers are very loving to my children and truly care about them. Food is included in tuition which is great to have one less worry during the week. They have an app that updates you about your children throughout the day and sends pictures which is an extra comfort not offered everywhere that I love.
