My instructor is Christina and she is amazing. Not only is her engery calm but she really helps you to calm down, I'm awfully nervous and anxious and she puts my mind at ease. She goes over what will be on the road test which is great. More importantly she helps you to understand and prepare for after the test, real life. I recommend her to any driver at any age, I am an older driver, she is patient with me. She is a professional! read more

Company went Bankrupt and did not honor pre-paid services or alert pre-paid customers.

The owner Diane was terrible working with and scheduling an appointment. - Not clear in communication when texting - Abruptly gave me 33 minutes to send pictures of my credit card in order to pay in an unprofessional and suspicious manner (texted at 11:27 AM demanding that I send payment by noon) - Wouldn't relent when I said I didn't have access to my card for another 3 hours - Despite the fact that my test was at 4 PM @ the Randolph DMV they said they couldn't do later than 2 PM (even though I was purely requesting a rental) - Eventually told me to f*ck off and go to a different driving school saying that they were too busy to schedule appointments like this, despite the fact that I was scheduling over 24 hours in advance (when they advertised they could do it in less) and first contacted them 40+ hours in advance. read more

The finest driving school in Randolph, if not the finest in Jersey. Diane the owner was an absolute pleasure to talk to when I had called up for a practice session for my wife on the day of her driving test. On the day of the test, Fredrick, the instructor was not only the best instructor that we have ever seen, but also one of the best human beings we have ever met. A big shout out and two thumbs up to Approach driving school. Please continue the good work. read more

If I could rate 10 stars, I would. Not only did Mr. Fred help me finally pass my road test but he made me lose my fear of driving. He is extremely patient. Ms. Diane was always so accommodating and it was never about taking my money like I've noticed from others school. They want you to pass on the first try! THANKS to Approach I finally have my license and it's been life changing. read more

The Gold Guardian program is OUTSTANDING! Our daughter had anxiety and was extremely hesitant to drive. With the extra hours of tailored instruction through this Gold Guardian program our daughter got the extra TLC that she needed. Now she is confident and utilizes so many of the techniques and knowledge she learned through the extra hours that she spent with Fred who is a phenomenal teacher!! Fred's humor, compassion and dedication to tailoring the instruction specifically to our daughter made an incredible difference. The Gold Guardian program is specially designed to guide those people who might just need extra time but those who have challenges will find exactly what they need through this instruction. Diane, the owner, is exceptionally helpful and guided us through the process. A++++ to Approach Driving school for providing this exception and unique service. Totally beyond the standard 6 hours that checks the box. This program is the best! read more

Highly recommended! Diane was all positive and knowledgeable. Welcome to the road sister stay safe! UPDATE 11/21/2016: Diane had reached back out to us and had not only found the document but had extended an offer to make things right. I feel satisfied with her response. ORIGINAL POST: Came recommended by our Daughter's friend's family. Lost an original copy of our daughter's birth certificate. Offered to pay for replacement copy of the certificate - which is a given. Offered nothing in return for the loss of an original document. Diane knew how many students signed up this week off the top of her head - the second indication that numbers are most important here - not the students or service provided. Do not recommend. read more

My 3rd child is currently enrolled and taking lessons. Can't say enough great things about this school, the quality of the teaching, the way they truly care about their students and their ability to get kids road-ready. Highly recommend! read more

5 stars are not enough to say how wonderful our experience with Approach Driving school was. Their instructors are excellent with young new drivers, especially our instructor Mr. Eckert. Our son was very anxious about taking his driving test and Mr. Eckert knew exactly what to do to put him at ease and prepare him to successfully get his license on the first try! We will highly recommend Approach to all our friends and family! read more

I came to approach on the day of my test. I paid for a short review and got with it a lesson on positivity and an ease that there isn't a price on. If you want to be a better driver, pass your test or anything related to driving. There is not a better place than approach to go to. read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Approach Driving School. I'm 38 years old and the older I got, the more afraid of driving I became, so I kept putting off getting my license. Finally I decided I needed to conquer this. My instructor was Fred Eckert and he was great! He was able to put me at ease with his calm demeanor, experience and sense of humor and make me feel confident behind the wheel. I went from being TERRIFIED to drive to parallel parking in Morristown with confidence in six hours. I felt he really went the extra mile to ensure that I knew everything that could come in handy driving in NJ. He took me to the testing site prior to my test and explained the procedure in detail, thus demystifying the whole thing and considerably decreasing my anxiety. Needless to say, I passed my test! My stepdaughter also used Approach Driving School and passed her test easily. I strongly recommend ADS! read more

Approach Driving I very much recommend, great service and t he instructors were amazing I would recommend 'Mike' he is amazing and you will have fun. Compared to other Driving school I have heard experiences about this was the best one by far. Very much recommend this! read more

If you need to learn to drive stick in Morris County, this is the only place with both an instructor and a vehicle (I called half a dozen other places before this one, so I'm pretty sure about that... it is a bit surprising, but I guess the lack of popularity of manual transmissions in America has something to do with it). I was very happy with my lesson. I was able to get the hang of learning fairly quickly; and credit that to my driving instructor Don, who was encouraging and knowledgeable. They have other services besides learning to drive stick. They also offer the classic six hours of behind the wheel training (for new drivers), road test review, and motorcycle lessons. If you are in the area and need driving instruction, these guys are worth checking out. read more

Don and Diane are really great people and will take you through the whole process for examination and learning. they are also reasonable priced compared to other schools. read more

Had such a great experience with Diane! DMV gave us trouble with a temporary insurance card, so we went to Approach. Even though it was last minute, she drove me to the test and gave me immeasurable tips and advice. I highly recommend Approach for fair prices and knowledgeable instructors. I passed and I couldn't be more pleased! read more

My first son had lessons with Christine late 2015 and it was a great experience. He just got his license a couple months ago and he's a good driver. He felt so comfortable and felt he learned a lot, so when it was his brother's turn this month, we knew we wanted to request that Christine give the lessons again! Approach was nice to deal with and Christine was great! Highly recommend! read more

Probably the only time I have felt good about going to the DMV. They assigned Mubashra to help me do a review before my test. I had been driving in the US on an international permit, but its not the same when you are giving your test. My parallel parking and K turns were rusty, but she was able to teach me techniques that I was able to grasp within minutes! More than anything, she was very patient with me because I was messing up the first few times. I did just as she told me and I passed the test. Having failed a test before, I feel elated and have to thank the nice lady at Approach. Thank you! read more

Great price for a great service. Son had a 1 hour pretest review and got his license!! Highly recommend.

My daughter lost her permit, they helped her get a new one. She had questions up until 5 minutes before her test, they answered the phone and answered her questions. That call gave her the confidence to pass her first time. These people are there for you and want you to succeed. read more

Horrible cust. service I scheduled on their website for a 4 pm review and car service for 1 month later. They emailed me said they only on up to 3:30pm. I changed the schedule with DMV and let them know 3:30 is fine. Then they sent me another email saying they only do it up to 2:30 pm. I told them I am confused with these change hearts rapidly, they just don't give a good reason. Horrible!!! If you only do it up to certain time, why don't spell it out on your website??? Or, that's a way of profiling and refusing services to certain people???? read more

I can't explain in words how thankful we are to Approach Driving School who provided us guidance which helped us pass the Road Test. I went through Approach Driving School an year and half ago and passed my Road Test for the first time and today my wife passed the Road Test for the first time through Approach Driving School. The trainer Mubashra was very helpful and demonstrated how actual Road test is done. I will surely refer friends and relatives Thanks for all the support!!! I just passed my road test today and I'm very pleased Approach Driving School service. My instructor was Mubashra and she was extremely helpful. My family did not have time to practice with me so my passing is totally due to her superb instruction. She was very patient with me considering I had very limited practice prior to taking her. She showed me exactly how the actual road test is like and on the test day everything went smoothly with absolutely no hassle. Overall, great service and professional staff! I recommend you to request Mubashra as your instructor. You won't regret it! read more

The professionals at Approach are fantastic! They even helped us out in a pinch when we didn't have a car the met the criteria to take the driving test. I would also recommend their refresher course before the test. I would definitely use Approach! Monica read more

My daughter just passed her test. WooHoo! We are so happy with Approach school's service and results. The instructors are patient, kind and methodical. For today's test, Diane (the owner) went above and beyond the call of duty! She met us at Randolph as planned, did the refresher and got in line with the car to take the test. After much waiting, my daughter finally got to the front of the line, ready to take the driving test using the school's vehicle (I don't have a car with a hand brake). However, the proctor let me know that permit had the wrong test written date on it (it said Randolph, May 6) and she wasn't on the roster. They wouldn't let her take the test today. You can imagine how disappointing this was. I went inside and the next available date was in 3 weeks. A search on the computer showed that the test WAS actually scheduled for today (her birthday, May 9), but in RAHWAY. The permit stated Randolph, which is where I scheduled it, in person, a year ago. Clearly a clerical error but we were still out of luck, as I had no way to get a car with a hand brake to Rahway on such short notice. I had to reschedule the test for Cherry Hill (!) for Monday - this was the best they could do. We were about to leave, grumpy and empty handed, but I decided it was a bit insane that we had to endure this disappointment AND cost outlay (I had already paid Approach for the use of the car) for a clerical error. So, I decided to try my luck talking with a superviser outside in the testing area. After much discussion, they agreed to let her in, since it was clearly a DMV mistake. YAH! But now we were 2 hours past the scheduled road test time and our Approach car and instructor had moved on to other appointments. Diane quicky rearranged her own schedule, moved an appointment, and ran over to the test site with the car. She made what could have been an AWFUL birthday for a 17 year old girl into an absolute TRIUMPH and I am so thankful for her caring and response. I'd highly recommend!! read more

Words cannot express how happy we were with Approach Driving School. Our son suffers from anxiety, ADHD, etc... so we opted for the "Gold" Guardian Program with Fred Eckert. This program is designed for people who learn differently and would benefit from special attention. It includes 12 hours of behind the wheel instruction (6 more than the state requires), consultation with the parents/guardians prior to lessons, a 1 hour review prior to the road test, and use of an Approach car for the road test. While this program is more expensive than a traditional 6 hour program, it was worth every penny in our opinion. Fred was excellent in making our son feel comfortable behind the wheel, but also pushed him when needed. He also knew when our son needed a break (2 hours for someone with ADHD and anxiety feels more like 10 hours). Fred even treated our son to a donut during one lesson :) Additionally, Fred built up our son's confidence with his calm demeanor and positive reinforcement. After each lesson, Fred filled us in on our son's progress and strengths and weaknesses. The value of these conversations with Fred cannot be understated as they helped ease our concerns as parents. If you are at all considering the Guardian Program, but are hesitant due to the cost just do it. Your child's first experience behind the wheel can make or break their desire to drive. Fred will definitely make sure it is a positive experience not to mention that the additional cost is worth your piece of mind as a parent. read more

My daughter just finished her 6 hours of driving with Fred! She was so nervous to start driving and he helped her feel comfortable and even be excited for the next time she could go out. He helped prepare her for her driving test and real-life driving situations as well! He uses step-by-step instruction and only moves on to the next stage of driving when the student feels comfortable. He is very kind, helps create a very comfortable and relaxed driving environment, and kept me informed every step of the way. I could not have asked for a better driving experience for my daughter, who is now very excited to drive!! Thank you, Fred!! read more

I just moved to Roxbury and needed a company to do a refresher with my son and take him to get is license. I Called the office number to set up road test and refresher for my son. They explained they would take him for a refresher and the test and it would be $150 I specifically asked if they would wait for him to get his license and they said yes. I also had several conversations with the instructor over the weekend about the 6 points he needed. He passed which was awesome Thank you for that. Then I got a call at work from my son that they were taking him home and I would have to bring him to get his license. WTF why do you think I paid them $150 I work Monday through Saturday and I can not bring him to motor vehicle. I called the office and they said they could not wait for him to get his license. I asked why they did not explain this to me when I spoke to them initially or this weekend when I called the instructor about the 6 points. They said it is clearly written on their website they would not wait over 1 hour. I had no reason to go visit their website as it was a referal from another driving company who could not accommodate me. After calling the office several times they had the nerve to say my son does not want to wait. REALLY! So I pay you $150 to provide a service and because my 17 year old son does not want to wait you are going to bring him home. Absolutely not! In the end after several calls to the office they did bring my son back to motor vehicle and dropped him off at 10:00 he was finished by 11:30. Then they sent someone to bring him home. They were very accommodating in the end but It should not have came to that you are paying them $150 to provide a service and it should be completed smoothly not interrupting me at work when I am trying to run a business. If you need an awesome driving school use Varsity Driving in Florham Park NJ 973-377-5646 they did everything smoothly since the day she started her 6 hours. Appointment was set 1 year in advance for her to take her test with an instructor. No surprises! read more
