Both the female and male instructor answer phone calls during the driving lesson and it's hard to focus. They talk more about their personal lives than giving actual advice on how to drive. They might know how to drive. Doesn't mean they know how to teach people. I called them before my first lesson and they said 50 for an hour. When I get in the car they said 60. They constantly keep their hands on your wheel instead of giving you the practice on your own that you need. They are extremely unprofessional and I don't recommend you waste your time or money.

They also quoted me a price for my daughter to take lessons and her road test. They scheduled the test. Then right before it they told me it was more money because it was scheduled in Newark. THEY WERE THE ONES THAT SCHEDULED THE TEST - you would think they would have asked me at that time if it was okay or mentioned the upcharge. They are EXTREMELY UNETHICAL. We offered to reschedule or take a refund and have not heard anything back in a month. This side, I would rate a 1 star. They stood out with positive reviews, innovative program approach, and the dedication of the instructor Mike, who seemed incredibly educated and experienced in working with people facing different types of challenges. When I initially started at Shift Above 2, my confidence level was basically zero due to frustrating and unsuccessful attempts at learning prior. After giving Mike background on my previous experiences and how i was now feeling about learning, he immediately established a comfortable learning environment by ensuring that the pace of the lessons were entirely dictated by my comfort level. In those first few sessions, I really appreciated that he was highly perceptive. ​Whenever I struggled with a maneuver or began to show signs of distress, he didn't push me. Instead, he would alter the current technique or introduce a different approach that was much better suited to my skill and confidence level. This adaptive teaching style was fundamental in preventing old feelings of frustration from resurfacing. Soon after, I found myself driving confidently in moderate traffic on main roads and performing K-turns and backing up with very little nervousness. My goal in the coming months is to prepare to pass my state road test with Mike's continued training.

They also have packages for wine nights and crafts for adults. Food and dessert can offered with your packages. The owner was courteous and introduced herself as you walk in. All the staff are super nice and pleasant in working with children of different ages. Also, the staff are skilled in creating some unique pieces of jewelry. They can be creative and help kids create some masterpieces. There is a main room and a mini tea room that are equipped with a wide range of supplies. A little overwhelming, but ask the staff and they can help you with your selections. I did notice the very tight space so having more than a small amount of people can be tough to deal with, and bumping into things or people will happen. From the looks of it, the prices are reasonable for the time spent here. Saves you a lot of money instead of throwing it at home...and don't forget the dreaded clean-up.
