It lowkey makes me sad to write this review. I want to preface this by saying I think ALOT of the the things I had a problem with were management based. As a Who Dat in DC, I'm always looking for a good sports bar and this was recommended to me by a friend. I walked in to a DJ and a bunch of other saints fans-- I was extremely optimistic. To my disappointment, the bartending service a a bit slow and the game wasn't even on for kick off. I don't want to come off too harsh but if you're hosting for a particular game, you should make sure all the TVs are set to the appropriate channel before patrons arrive. I stayed through the 3rd quarter and had a great time because of the people. The food was just ok and I think if I did come back, I would eat beforehand. Unless management tightens up the service for games day, I may not be back. read more

There is outdoor seating but it rained during the event. The place was cozier than expected since no one wanted to hang around outside. The food was okay. There were hot items being served buffet style. The crowd would rush the table when the food arrived. It was a bit challenging to have room. We made due. The cheese sticks were excellent. Two words. Pleasantly surprised. I came here on a Wednesday night, which is when Artemis have RnB night with live music. I arrived 30 mins early to ensure I had a seat. I walk in and the place is empty, which is usually not a good sign. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was super cool and nice. She ensured my group that the place would fill up. I ordered a drink and the catfish filet sandwich. The drink was a real drink if you know what I mean. No extra frills, nice, strong, and right to the point. Just the kind I like. The catfish was surprising really good too. The show kicks off and the band and the lead singer was great. They covered songs that we all knew, and my group and I sang along and had a great time. Also, one of the band members thanked us for coming and supporting and purchased a shot for my friend who's birthday it was. And as the bartender promised, the place filled up and the whole vibe was perfect. I'm glad we stuck around. If you're looking for live music on a Wednesday night, check out this place. My first yelp review! Some of the stories crack me up, they sound spiteful or petty. But if I had read this review before I went I would have gone to another sports bar nearby like buddys. There was one other customer in the bar. The bartender didn't know how to work the tv. It was day 1 of the 2026 NFL playoffs. We missed the entire first half of the game bc she couldn't figure it out. So we ate bad food while horrible music was blasted in our ears and she finally got it on by halftime when another employee showed up. The bartender was nice, I felt bad for her. No reflection on her personally. It was just kind of trifling that a sports bar couldn't figure out how to put the most popular live sporting event taking place that evening on their tv. read more

We used to enjoy going to this location when it was "The Airedale," so we thought we'd give it a try. The fries were pretty good. My wife thought the burger didn't stink. That concludes the positive portion of my review. I'll let the details of the meal slide, and skip to the end: The tab. Not only did they automatically include a 20% tip (Okay, I probably would have tipped about that much anyway, but I'd like to have the option), but they also included the tip in the amount on which the taxes were calculated. I came with a group to watch some playoff basketball (Go Knicks!). When I walked in the bar around 6:30, they were playing a lot of loud hip hop that wasn't exactly rated G. Didn't really care for it, but so be it. Mike, the bartender, was very friendly and accommodating. He even got a couple of pitchers of ice eater for our group on the rooftop. And the place has some good drink specials, super cheap drafts and rails until 7 pm. There is a second bar upstairs, but it was closed that particular night, I'm guessing it just opens on the weekends. The neighborhood around isn't what I would call inviting or picturesque. And it's about a half mile away from the nearest Metro station. read more

I came here for an event this weekend on the 2nd floor and had a lot of fun. The bartender did a great job solo with a large group and the karaoke on the 1st floor was a lot of fun. Experience: 4/5 I actually came here primarily for the comedy show (on Sunday) for my birthday. It's a free comedy show, so why not? We found the comedy show event via EventBrite and purchased tickets (for free -- by registering); however, we later found out that we didn't even need to register for tickets online! I wish the EventBrite mentioned that because I had wanted to bring more friends last minute but wasn't sure that we were allowed to since they didn't have a ticket and it was too late to register. Regarding the stand-up comedy show, it seems like some of the performers were not as prepared or were new to comedy. Some of their jokes were racist/sexist or played on stereotypes, which I did not like. There were a few performers that I enjoyed and thoroughly found funny, but it was a "hit or miss" kind of feel. When one of the performers did not get the crowd at all laughing, he started trying to interact with the crowd to get them to become more engaged. Regarding the food, my friends and I ordered a few drinks/food by scanning the QR code on the table. Instead of having a traditional handwritten check/receipt deal, this place does everything virtually on your phone (even payment). I had ordered a Shirley Temple with extra cherries and that was delicious! It reminded me of my youth. The shrimp po boy -- it needs more spices and seasoning. It just tasted like salty fried shrimp in a baguette or other type of bread. There wasn't much seasoning in the sauce, sadly. read more

Something about the pineapple juice was perfect. It's a two story place with tons of light. They played upbeat music and you could tell everything was new and clean. My friend recently brought me to this place and I must say, it was a great vibe! The food was not my favorite, but mainly because I felt the portion could have been larger. Now I came to this restaurant to watch the fight on a Saturday evening with a group of friends. I met the manager who very friendly and made sure we have everything we wanted and more; I love the energy here and also how the outside dining gives a great view of the city, I had a few items but was most excited for the gumbo; if I had to change anything it'd be tho e rice portioning, their appeared to be to much for it be "gumbo" but after speaking with the manager he fixed it immediately and accommodated with some free alcoholic refreshments. First of all, so glad to have someone back in the old Airedale space, and also keeping up the soccer tradition. For a town that's hosted more USMNT games than any other town, except for greater LA, we are woefully short on places to watch what the rest of the world knows as football. The space still looks very familiar, although they were doing some reno work upstairs while I was there. I had the burger to go. The missus and kids shared the fish n chips. No complaints at all. Came here for Drag brunch for my wife's birthday. The show was from 12pm-3pm. The show didn't start till 1:30pm. I'm guessing they were giving ppl enough time to eat before the show. The Drag queens were very entertaining. The food was ok. I had the eggs, sausage, toast and fruit. The eggs was scrambled and not completely cooked. My wife had eggs, steak and salad. My wife ended up getting sick there because they put her salad on the same plate as her eggs and steak, which caused the salad dressing to mix in with the eggs. Please put your salad on a separate plate/bowl. My wife didn't eat anymore of that so she ordered wings. The wings must've been cooked in fish grease because you could smell it and it taste like fish. Please you different grease for your chicken and fish. Lousy karaoke on Saturday night. KJ took 5 minute breaks less than every hour that stretched into 10 minute breaks. Sorry entering songs into a computer is so exhausting you can only do it 40 minutes at a time before you're winded, bro. Was there for 3+ hours and didn't hear my name called once, watched as people arrived and sang almost immediately. Don't know what happened to this place but will be bringing people for karaoke elsewhere on Saturdays now. Also, maybe hire a second bartender for Saturday nights? Just a thought. read more

One of the worst bar experiences in DC. Walked in to an empty place on Sunday afternoon to have a beer and watch a game. Jesse the bartender advised on a beer. Ordered that with fries. I realized I didn't like the beer. Barkeep said it was a hazy, it wasn't. Nevertheless apologized to the bartender and ordered a safer choice. Asked to close out. 25 mins later I wasn't closed out, bartender never put in order for fries. Left having drank half a beer with a $20 tab. No thanks, never again. read more

The food is decent and the decor is okay, however this is the worst place to host an open mic. The staff specifically the bartender (That was 'tending on the night of June 15th) is extremely rude AF and inconsiderate of the artists on the mic. The wild thing is that main level space is not even that spacious for him to be as loud as he was which naturally encouraged the patrons at the bar to match his energy. After being asked SEVERAL times by the hosts to be mindful of the volume he never complied therefore those at the bar never really complied either. And the unnecessary slamming of the dishes in the bus sink was CRAZY. I have seen plenty of successful open mics operate peacefully in sync with managing staff at much larger establishments so it absolutely can be done. Maybe a proper protocol training needs to take place for the staff if this establishment is going to continue serving as host venue to events like this. Also the blatant walking across the front of performers while they're on the mic is insane when there is more than enough room to maneuver around the other tables --I can't believe I'm having to type this for a grown man (that should be common knowledge.) I'm probably never coming back here for another event, but hopefully for future events here to come they will be more pleasant for attendees. Also to note 95% of the attendees from the time their doors opened were there specifically for the open mic and the place would've been a ghost town otherwise. So it wasn't a case of a clash of worlds it was very much so that the bartender was on socially awkward jerk mode. Again the food is decent and they give good portion sizes and it is reasonably priced and I'd definitely place a to go order whenever I'm waaaay that far uptown which isn't usually, but I'd never sit at the bar with him bartending nor in the dining area with him working there again I'm good on that. read more

Crawfish etouffee is amazing! Best I've had outside of New Orleans. I love the happy hour and nightly activities. Only discretion I had would be, I'm assuming the prices changed either the day I went or shortly before (on the menu online) but the old prices were still posted which I feel should have been honored since the unchanged prices were still posted on the wall. I have never written a review but the comical calamity that is the Artemis was far too compelling. Be warned, prospective patron, this a not a sports bar. Though it alleges to be one, the Artemis is more akin to a damp den of larceny operated by unscrupulous charlatans peddling lies and barren beer taps. With the inaugural game of the Euros upon us, we arrived at the Artemis with clear eyes and full hearts to find a $1 draft special for all tournament games. Hope springs eternal. Inexplicably, the bartender was thoroughly baffled by the request to put on the match. With the game having already started, our incredulous barkeep brandished her dubious millennial credentials while struggling to decipher the mysteries of the Roku menu. After multiple rounds of phone a friend, the game was finally on. Disaster averted. Now, dear reader, with fans of this sport having waited 5 years for this day, one would probably not find it unreasonable to ask that the volume of the game's commentary take precedence over the Spotify playlist. How wrong you would be. Having already labored to put sport on at the sports bar, this request was beyond the pale. You will listen to Global Top 50 at full volume and be happy. With Doja Cat accenting to near ear bleeding amplification, I sought the consoling refuge of $1 beer. Incredibly, 5 of 6 of the beers on draft had been tapped dry. A remarkable feat given the bar had opened just 10 minutes ago and we were the only patrons. Nursing a warm Modello, the stream froze and began to buffer. Following a considerate 10 minutes of entertaining her negligence, we asked our illustrious bartender if she would be willing to refresh the feed.
