Furthermore, the decoupage paper that was attached was glued or attached sloppily over the board and hung off the edges on both sides. The furniture is fabulous! They have a great selection of paints, stencils, handles, knobs and pulls and more for furniture makeovers. They also have plenty of art throughout the shop. Resin art and mixed media were plentiful and they teach classes on various mediums. My friend wants lessons on resin art. I picked up a whimsical pull for a piece of furniture at home- the knob had broken off a few months ago, so I was so happy to replace it with something fun and my style. Tiff grabbed a couple of Christmas gifts and a schedule for classes. On the furniture side, I was very interested in a couple of pieces, but there weren't price tags and I wondered if they were more for those doing classes or if they were sold outright. Definitely a neat store to check out!

This museum, though small, is quite well done. I wouldn't bring young kids under 7 or 8, though,…read morebecause the interactive activities require reading and writing, but my 12 year-old enjoyed it. There is a treasure hunt throughout the museum that requires writing down the hidden treasure found. At the end, kids can get "treasure" (a plastic gold coin) for completing the hunt. There are several exhibits that they claim are one of only a few in the world such as a genuine "Jolly Roger" flag and a treasure chest. The stories of about 20 pirates are shown throughout the museum. If you go through the museum, taking your time, it takes about an hour. For that, I think the price for kids ($9.99 if purchased from the website) is reasonable. However the adult price ($18.99 online) is too much. If you are in St. Augustine, especially on a hot or rainy day, it is worth an hour of your time.

This store boasts a grand selection of unique and somewhat hard-to-find items, and I get a thrill from all there is to look at. I especially love that Old Towne carries Playmobil. Playmobil used to be more popular in Florida, as there were once a couple of Playmobil Fun Parks - one in Orlando, one in Palm Beach Gardens. The brand, behind Star Wars, was my favorite toy throughout the 80s, and somehow I just haven't been able to stop collecting them. The staff have always been welcoming and friendly, and each went out of their way to look up information about toys we've inquired about. The prices are decent. As a locally owned and operated store, I'd expect the price to be a little higher than what you'd expect from a well-known, brick-and-mortar business. There is a clearance section, which is nice, but it doesn't help me, particularly... At any rate, St. Augustine is Florida's most captivating city, and Old Towne Toys is one of its finest treasures, and my favorite part of going there.
