From the moment I had initially contacted Brighton Day Academy last summer to enroll my son (then 2) into their program I have had nothing but positive experiences. The director, Tracy, is incredibly sweet and very professional. She has always been really easy to talk to and always answers all of my questions. My son started out in the two year old room where he made plenty of friends and amazed me every day with how much he had learned during "school". They provide well balanced meals, naps, plenty of play time, singing, and reading. There has always been great communication between the caregivers and with us as parents. To be quite honest, I was incredibly afraid of potty-training and they have played such a huge roll in helping us potty-train our son that I really don't know how we could have done it so quickly without her support as she watched him during the day. We did have an incident at Brighton Day where my (albeit EXTREMELY clumsy and hyper-active) son ran into something and required stitches. They called me immediately and luckily I work just down the road and was able to drive him to the ER. When I walked in, there were three people with him. Ms. Tracy was incredibly reassuring and I got a brief run down on what happened, and we talked more about it the following day because I was far too frazzled to really concern myself with specifics. We went to the ER and the overwhelming support and love that the teachers and Ms. Tracy provided makes me so happy. They all took time out of their day individually to contact me after hours to check on my son and continued to do so over the weekend. I can genuinely say that I am 100% confident that he is cared for and that although accidents happen, especially among children, Brighton Day Academy and their staff were prepared and handled the situation in the best way possible. He just graduated from their VPK program and I am extremely confident that he is ready for kindergarten, thanks to Brighton Day. Not to mention how lovely the ceremony was. When my daughter was born, I was unable to bring her to work with my like I did my son. I was hesitant at first and was really upset about having to leave my six week old in the care of strangers. A few days before our first drop-off I met with the infant room teachers and discussed my expectations and they described to me what their typical day consists of. I felt a little bit at ease, but naturally I was still kind of upset to drop her off. As the days turned to weeks, and months, I have had zero problems with the staff in the infant room and love them all so much. They care for my daughter and I love how much time they are willing to invest in all of the babies. They contact me with any concerns that they might have, and I trust them to watch and really help me raise my baby. There is always someone (if not all of them) on the floor playing with the babies, checking on the sleeping sweeties, feeding them, teaching them sign language or singing with em. She's now in the two year old room and I can't say enough good things about their team. I honestly feel like I am leaving her with family at this point. My children have grown so much over the last three years and while I'll admit to having a little mom guilt, I'm glad that they are safe and taken care of. LONG STORY SHORT: I have my ECE certificates, I have done internships in daycare centers and elementary schools in Central New York and South Florida. I like to think that I have high expectations for where I send my children to spend a majority of their days. I can also tell when people are just doing their job because they have to, and at Brighton Day the caregivers are genuinely caring and are excellent at what they do. Brighton Day Academy is our home away from home. My twin boys, Hayes and Brooks, have been going there since they were 9 months old. Every staff member is so welcoming to my boys and know them by name. I have such a strong sense of security knowing that they are in great hands when I have to leave them each day. Our boys still request to see all of their old teachers as they move up each year. They have bonded so much with Miss Cydney that they request to see her at home or scream her name as we pull in almost every day. Brooks has been in Ms. Gena's class and Hayes in Ms. Jenn's 2 year old classes for a little over a month and I have seen them grow exponentially ever since. They are even counting in Spanish already! Ms. Emmy is the sweetest and is always loving on my boys and always shares with me what they learned and how their day went. This is so important to working mamas that can't be with their babies all of the time. I also cannot forget the amazing office staff-Heather, Kirstyn, and Tracy and Mr. Joe that greet us when we walk in each morning. They have all gone above and beyond to make sure my kids are taken care of and feel loved. I cannot say enough kind words to the people who help raise our little boys. Ms. Sharon and Ms. Christina are the best!! They had my daughter, Skylor, for two years of VPK while she was 4 and 5 and my son, Landen, for VPK as a 4 year old. Both kids simply adored them!! They really care about them as if they were their own and you can really tell in the way they take care of them. Even though my daughter did two years, as she missed the cutoff date, they made sure that the curriculum was still challenging for her and not a repeat of the prior year. My daughter is in Kindergarten now but still loves to go seem them every chance she gets. I feel as though both teachers have gone above and beyond the call of duty. The really took time to understand the kids home situation and develop a plan for each kid individually. They were in constant contact me regarding the kids. They let me know if we need to focus harder on certain things during our home 'homework' time or if the kids are really doing great in other aspects. Together we worked as a team, so that everything was reinforcing what the others were doing. Ms. Sharon and Ms. Christina also do the best projects!! I can't say enough about this group of AMAZING individuals. Rylee is 18 months old and attends Brighton Day. From the time my daughter and I walk through the front door to the time we leave for the day, we are being greeted and sent off with smiles and blowing kisses by Ms. Tracy, Ms. Heather, Ms. Kyrsten, and Mr. Joe. When I first started taking my daughter Rylee at age 6 mos, I was so scared to leave my baby but she has loved every minute. She loves breakfast time with Ms. Cydney, Ms. Gena, and Ms. Lesley. They make her feel so welcome and always comfort her if she isn't feeling well or if she is unsure of herself. Her first teachers set the tone for the next few months to get her where she is and so I want to send a big thank you to them......Ms. Savannah, Ms. Kristen, and Ms. Katie, we love you tons. The staff at Brighton Day Academy is amazing! They are very attentive to your childs special needs. Kassidy, my 1 year old, loves her teacher Miss Nicole and is excited every morning to go to school and see her friends. Kassidy was coming from a daycare center that focused on special needs children, so of course the transition to brighton day was rough on me, but Miss Nicole and Miss Tracy made sure to keep me up to date on Kassidy throughout the day to keep my mind at ease. All the staff are sweet and make you feel as if you were family. The facility is neat and clean and they always have great breakfast and lunch choices for the kids. Our daughter Ariana has been going to this daycare since she was 8 weeks old, now 9 months. Even leaving our first born here at 8 weeks, we have never been given a reason to worry. They are organized and classrooms are kept very clean. Ariana's teachers are Miranda and Bree and Ariana loves them. They helped get her on a schedule right away that has made our lives so much easier. She is very advanced for her age and we have them to thank for that. Now thankfully we also have Miss Mary who always has a smile on her face. She makes sure to keep us updated on Ariana's development. We could not ask for better teachers. Brighton Day Academy has been fantastic since day one for us! My husband and I enrolled our son, Hunter (4 y/o then) right before they opened the first phase of the new building. Being there to see the roll out of the second phase and how appreciate the staff is of the upgrades has been wonderful. Now that Hunter is 5 years old, he's in VPK with Ms. Christina and Ms. Sharon. They are simply fabulous - they devote so much of their personal time and money into making sure their students have the best of everything. Their communication with us as parents has been wonderful, even allowing us to request a conference to make sure we understood our son's needs. My children attend Brighton Day Academy. My kids have been hurt here more times in 6 months than I care to mention, but will produce documentation, the incidents that were documented of course(some weren't). I have also witnessed on multiple occasions Don Sutton the owner while transporting children from John A Crookshank Elementary, on his cell phone texting, talking and not maintaining his lane while my children as well as all the other parents children he failed to mention too. Don't dare be concerned when you walk into this establishment after an injury and ask for an explanation because Tracy and Don will advise that their employee's feelings are more important than your children's welfare. Brighton Day Academy has been such a blessing for our daughter. The teachers in the infant room have been so patient with her during many infant transitions, the most difficult being her time away from mom. Miss Jessica is extremely organized and up to date on the latest regulations as well as warm and loving to the babies. They keep a very consistent staff and schedule day to day which makes it easier for the babies to feel comfortable as well as the mommies. They take time to tell you about their day, any concerns, and any needs. I feel very at ease with my baby girl in their care. We absolutely love Brighton Day Academy! Every teacher/staff member makes you feel very welcomed. You can tell they deeply care for their students. My name is Jessica Tanner and I have sent both of my kids to Brighton Day Academy for years now. My now 2 year old son started at three months. Sydney was his instant soul mate for life. He has recently fallen for Gena as well as Jennifer and Emily. They treat him like he is the only child around every single day. We love them all like family. We were referred here from a few neighbors who's children also go here. It's not the closest preschool/daycare but it is well worth the extra few mins. My son is in one of the VPK classes and he has the best time. He loves going to school. He wishes he could stay all day. Mrs Teresa is just the best we love her. I was referred to Brighton Day by a friend one year ago and have been happy ever since. I have 1 toddler and 1 school ager, so the after school program is a great benefit for our family. Ms. Crystal and Mrs. Mandi are also great in the toddler rooms. They are always offering a thorogh rundown of the day and my son loves to give hugs goodbye.
