The instructors rotate frequently, which makes it harder to track individual progress, but on the plus side, it means my son gets to learn from different coaching styles. The staff is on the younger side, but they bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm, which keeps the kids engaged. One thing I really like is how they change up the course and layout every week and focus on different themes to keep things fresh and exciting. Overall, it's been a great experience, and my son always looks forward to going. They were building a new restroom facility when we visited (Memorial Day 2017). There's also a picnic area with grills. There are classroom facilities too which can also be rented for meetings. The building has wifi. This building is separate from the other building with the cafe and store inside, which is closer to the beach. We will definitely rent another tandem kayak from here next time we camp at Anastasia State Park. The kayaking takes place over oyster beds so you CANNOT get out of the boat without injuring yourself. Beautiful views and we saw lots of wildlife, especially birds, crabs, and we think we saw a sea turtle quickly surface.

It was an incredible start to my birthday! They were so mannerly and awesome personality for getting there at 5:30am on a Sunday you'd never know it!! We went to the beach at the end of the 1 mile hike and walked the beach, looking for shells, watching crabs scramble by, and enjoying the views. It is well maintained by maintenance crews, and there are several picnic benches at the beach. It was hot on the way back, but there was a restroom at the beginning of the trail and a pavilion with benches. There was plenty of parking, no crowds, and places to fish, kayak, paddle board, and boat.

The visitor's center is beautiful and interesting. Our eight year old was engaged by the exhibits and live animals. We did the yellow hike, which was perfect for a July morning. As a longtime softball mom who moved here 3 years ago shocked to find the indoor/outdoor training facilities were obsolete here I'm so glad to find this place so close to home! Florida weather during sports seasons calls for covered options and now that 5 tool is open I don't have to worry about my daughter's practice/training time being interrupted by the occasional shower storm. And just to reiterate the staff here are the best I've found in town. They are tough and patient but not afraid to push the kids to their top performance.
