    Chicken Katsu Rice Bowl
    Carly K.

I've heard great things about The Angry Korean, so we decided to try it out for a late lunch on a Friday. I was kind of surprised to see it absolutely empty except for us. If you're paying with a card you put in your order through tablets. Everything seems to be an additional cost. The food was very fresh, big portions, great sauces and solid flavor. Price point was $40+ for 2 people (Both chicken katsu rice bowls with fried egg, one had the veggie mandoo & salad.) Looked like there was only one person working and they were quite standoffish and annoyed when we asked for a water cup.

    Bowl with chicken- decent

First time here. We ordered a few different bowls to go. One with chicken and one with beef. They were decent, not great, but it literally took almost 30 minutes to make the food with hardly anyone there, so for that reason I probably won't be back.

We got the Fried Katsu chicken sandwich, Korean Cheesesteak sandwich, Korean chicken fries and a side of cucumber kimchi. Fried Katsu sandwich was 2/5, it was bland, soggy and dripping w sauce. Cheesesteak was decent 2/5 but didn't taste like Korean or Korean fusion anything. Cucumber kimchi was disgusting, soggy, mushy, didn't taste like it was a kimchi but tasted like cucumbers that were just doused in vinegar and their own water drained out of them. I eat all kinds of kimchi and that was not a kimchi. The chicken fries were supposed to be Korean fried crispy chicken on top of fries w a sweet sauce and some type of mayo sauce. Instead we received a container of mushy soggy chicken DOUSED in way too much sugary sweet syrup, no other sauce, on top of limp soggy fries. It was inedible. You order at a kiosk, they call your name and you pick up your food from a window. It's all self serve, you even bus your own tables. So there was no customer service. Bc the inside is spartan and unwelcoming we ordered to go and food took about 20 minutes. I eat a lot of Korean food and this didn't remind me of Korean food. It was poorly executed and also just bad tasting.

The Angry Korean BBQ 6945 S 1300th E, Midvale, UT Beef Bulgogi Bowl: Tender, flavorful beef with a golden egg, mondo, and sweet potato noodles. A must-try symphony of flavors! Chicken Katsu Sandwich: Crispy, succulent chicken on soft buns with fresh veggies and tangy sauce. A crowd-pleaser! Verdict: The Angry Korean BBQ is a flavor haven you can't miss! Perfect for: Lunch/Dinner Price: $-$$ (depends on how many add-ons you do.) *Helpful hint: We could have shared one bowl and been fine! They are generous serving sizes! Sharing a bowl and a sandwich had us stuffed! #eathereutah

Food was amazing. Cost a lot, but you get a lot of food. I'd say it was worth it, I'd bring a friend here. The service was... there wasn't. You have to order through an ipad on a countertop. Lots of notes strewn around directing you around, kinda felt like I was taking a test in school. Still amazing, and I'd still come back.

Only reason I haven't been back is because eating out is a whole-family decision. What you get at Bumblebees is, in my opinion, a rare and odd fusion of foods that loosely fall into the realm of Bulgogi and Primanti Brothers (think fries plus bulgogi). The interior is appropriately dive-y. The service isn't surprising or especially fast (I recall it being respectable), but...that unique combination is only akin to having chili Mac (chili over spaghetti) from Hard times in DC. So...it's in that vein of highly flavored meat over a base starch that is cooked in such a way as to carry the flavor and not hamper it...every time I drive by, I wish my family liked spicy things more - it's totally worth it!!

Friday night feed! April 10th 7:30pm…read more Was looking for a restaurant to take CUZZY out for her late bday dinner. She wanted Korean and she hasn't had much Korean BBQ. It was only the 2 of us and thank God we drove by this place! Pulled in during a busY time but there was a wait that was only 5mins. I've been to quite a few Korean places and this one stands out with their side dishes were fresh. Yes I've had some that were not so fresh where it seem like I was eating side dishes that sat out at another table and recycled on our table. Their yellow kimchi radish and their cucumber kimchi was yummish! Wanted to ask for more to take home kuz I'ma fatty like that!!! The host with long hair to his shoulder was great because we had complications with the app due to my phone not their system. They were wonderful on making sure we had extra help to get our Korean BBQ dinner a success. Meat was good and I'm all about the flavor but I didn't want too much because the meat, veggies, salad was that good on its own. We were offered to get more sauce by another waiter and I was full by the time I thought to get more sauce. Meat is fresh I can't express that enough and so is the place clean with respectful waiters who didn't let our table go up in smokes. Love this all you can eat $35.00 for the night and I am looking forward to going back especially for their yellow radish kimchi. Thank you for your wonderful food. We loved it.

The quality, variety, and overall experience of the food is what keeps me coming back. That said, the service has consistently been hit or miss and unfortunately, this most recent visit really highlighted the "miss" side. We came in as a group of 6 (originally 10, but some couldn't make it) and paid for the hot pot and BBQ dinner, which is about $37 per person. At the beginning, everything was solid. Our server, Jose Rafael R, explained the process, helped with the soup base, and got us set up on the tablet for ordering. No complaints there. But after that, it felt like we were completely forgotten. We had to repeatedly try to flag down not just our server, but other staff as well, and most of the time we were ignored. Getting something as simple as a drink refill turned into a whole mission. I ordered a brisk raspberry tea and didn't get a single refill the entire night not because I didn't want one, but because it was nearly impossible to get our server's attention. I understand restaurants get busy, and I try to be patient and empathetic, especially knowing servers have multiple tables. But the issue wasn't just that he was busy it was the lack of basic check-ins. When we finally were able to get him, he seemed rushed and hard to keep around long enough to communicate everything we needed. We had to ask for the grill to be changed, and even that took effort. Toward the end of the meal, it just felt frustrating instead of enjoyable. What really stood out was how the check was handled. He didn't ask if we were splitting the bill (which we were planning to do), and before we even had a chance to say anything, he dropped the receipt and said something along the lines of "here you go, you can pay when you're ready," and walked away immediately. That was pretty much the tone of every interaction quick, dismissive, and gone. Again, the food is great, and that's the only reason I'd consider coming back. But for the price you're paying, the level of service just doesn't match. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect some level of attentiveness, especially when it comes to things like refills, check-ins, and basic communication. Overall: amazing food, but the service really needs improvement. Follow-up to owner response: I appreciate the response and the acknowledgment. I want to emphasize that this wasn't just a one-time issue the service has been inconsistent across multiple visits, which is why I felt the need to mention it. I completely understand busy shifts, but basic check-ins and communication make a big difference, especially at this price point. I do enjoy the food and would like to continue coming back, so I'm hoping to see some improvement in overall attentiveness next time.
