So, The Anarchy Library has emotions and feelings of its own. Some days you walk in there and it seems so happy and vibrant; it feels like the place to be. When you walk in, your senses are inundated with sights and sounds and smells that are unlike that of the world you just left behind. You dive into a dim world, where heat is created only by the movement of large mammals that are teeming in this environment. They move to the rhythm of 80's, new wave, and Rock en Espanol in perfect synchronicity. As you navigate your way through the sea of hefty women, you occasionally discover someone pleasing to the senses. You'll find someone as cute as a button if you're patient. These are not easy to come by, but once your eyes adjust to the dimness, you'll run into a couple, but you must be patient, like a fisherman. You don't wanna move around too much and spook the fish, just pick a spot and let them come, observe their every movement and just hope they take the bait. Analogies aside, you see an abundance of overweight women, and occasionally someone cute, but it's still a fun place to be in. This is not to say that all overweight women aren't cute, one of the bartenders is both. She's hot! On other days, The Anarchy seems in a state of depression, with hardly any activity. Instead of large mammals crowding up the scene, you have a few bespectacled individuals just staring off into space, drinking their pain away. This is generally on a day during the week, but the Anarchy that is usually full of activity --and somewhat controlled chaos-- goes to sleep. It is a depressing sight and experience for the few that attend. The restrooms are not reeking of piss during these days. The floors and walls are still Grimy as shit --hell, you might even see a shit stain, but you won't see the floors through an inch or two of piss, and that's how you are able to gauge if things are gonna crack or not. Every night that I've been to this bar feels a little different. Although the crowd is generally an edgier crowd, you find all kinds of peeps there, which is why you get a different feeling every night. Sometimes you walk in there and see a bunch of "rockerbillys" clutching on to the trends of the past; sometimes you see a few bald-headed hoodlums who seem to be enjoying the music and the beer; you also see some so-called hipsters, but the best nights are when you get them all! Cell Phones get STOLEN here!!! Yes just like you read it.. Went there this weekend with some friends and sat at the bar. I had my phone on the counter and turned around for one minute (was sitting at bar the whole time) turned around and my phone was gone. This used to be my spot every Tuesday for their 2 Dollar Special. It's a small place, punk atmosphere and mixed casual people. One Tuesday, after the bar closed and they were kicking everyone out me and my friends were talking to some girls in the parking lot. The bouncer told us we have to leave then left. A few minutes later our eyes and throat started burning we later found out the sprayed pepper spray in our direction to get us out of the parking lot. Ever since that i never went back. So many people recommend to come to this place because it had a cool vibe and cheap drinks. Well one thing was right, the drinks on specific days are cheap. As for the cool vibe, not so cool. Basically what I got out of this place is if you are not a guy and you're a girl, you will get treated bad. It's a tiny dive bar (which I like), but it's way too punk (which I didn't know before but I know now that I don't like). It's packed so much that you couldn't move. The bartenders are all strippers with full body tattoos, and looked like you could catch an STD if they served you a drink. The crowd was the same as the bartenders. Unwashed, and in need of tattoo and face piercing removal. And OLD. This was not a fun crowd. The actual bar itself looked like it could be an interesting place. LCD tvs behind the bar showing gangster movies. Karaoke set-up. But alas, it was not meant to be. Went there on St. Patrick's day and had a pretty bad experience. I asked the inked out bartender for a drink. She completely ignored me for like 15 min and helped out people behind me. I asked her again and she blew up on me. She threw out a few bad words and made a huge crazy scene. I had been tipping generously all night to show my appreciation so you can imagine how unfair that felt. The customers around me noticed and said a few things. She never apologized. The other bartender apologized for her and I gave her a 5 dollar tip for a 2 dollar drink. I am usually here on a weekly basis. It can be super crowded depending on the time and day. Tuesdays are very popular because of their $2 drink specials, I like to get there when it just opens because you can take advantage of the cheap drinks without having to wait at the bar. The bartenders are cute and friendly and really take care of you. The place is pretty small and you are bound to bump into a few people but it is expected. Drinks are super cheap even cheaper if you get there before 10:30. Vodka and Cranberry for $2!!!! Oh hell yes!! The bartenders are also great! No snotty attitudes here like at other bars or clubs. A 15 minute wait to get into this place wasn't bad for a Saturday night. The scenery and music was much different than what a typical bar would have. I got to hear music by David Bowie, Dramarama, Billy Idol just to name a few. While music is playing, the music videos are being shown on a huge t.v. in the dance floor area. Drinks ordered were Dos Equis & Jager Bombs. The Dos Equis were served bottled and Jager Bombs were made perfectly. Restrooms do need to be bigger as they only had two stalls. I have to take a couple of stars back.....went back on Tuesday and I think the girls behind the bar forgot their meds. There should be like six people working but there is only three. The two girls behind the bar just would not serve me. They ignore some people and dote on others. I noticed an odd thing also, they seem to serve the bad tippers (their friends I assume) with efficiency. The good tippers, not many by the way seem to fall by the wayside. The last time I was there was over ten years ago and it looked nicer and less scary than I remembered. The staff was friendly, the crowd was mixed ages and scene. No hipsters so that was nice.
