The owner Marty met us outside as we were getting out of our car. What a nice and friendly person. Couldn't of been more helpful and charming. He referred us to a couple local places for dinner and helped us up to our cabin. Stunning and so not what I was expecting. Beautifully decorated, very well thought out and perfect for our small family. I'd say clean but it was beyond clean. Someone knows what they are doing here. We come up here for Limerock's Ferrari challenge every year and happened to come up upon this place accidentally. I will keep coming back here no doubt. Adorable, cute, clean, lots of room, and family friendly. We are planning another weekend getaway soon with our extended family and think this would be a wonderful retreat for all of us. All the rooms are extra spacious. There is actually enough bedding for 9 people. We had a whole house to ourselves! Plenty of parking! All rooms, including bedding, sofas and bathrooms were super clean. The home smelled great when we walked in and there were fresh muffins waiting for us. The contemporary deco was fun while still providing a home away from home feel. The owners have a restaurant named Memo's across the street. We had a fabulous breakfast at Memo's at very reasonable prices. I had mentioned to the owner Christine that it had been my son's birthday the night while we were checking in. The next morning while we had breakfast at Memo's without being asked the owner and restaurant staff surprised my son with a chocolate muffin and candle and a birthday song. It was nice of her to remember and It made the start of his birthday getaway weekend very special. Christine was super attentive to our needs and answered any questions we had as 1st timers there. Lily's Lodge was just 10 minutes from 6 Flags and is right across the street from the annual Big E entrance. While staying at Lily's Lodge it felt like were were truly away yet still had very easy access to the main road which makes it convenient for quick trips to grab last minute items you may have forgotten to pack or just to do some shopping. The property is gorgeous and even more so, Maggie and Bob are the absolute perfect hosts. Maggie is so warm and welcoming and very accommodating. She feels like family from the second you meet her. It was a truly wonderful experience. Bob even showed us the newly renovated barn where they host weddings in the spring and fall. Beds were very comfortable and the whole house is just adorable. Would 100% recommend for a quaint weekend at any time of year!

The biggest difference from what we normally do is that there was no TV or WiFi. It turned out we survived, nay, thrived without either. We drove around the historic and beautiful countryside, enjoyed a vegetarian breakfast each morning. We were given a bottle of Proseco the first night along with a bottle of home made rose brandy made by the matriarch of the family, that acted like a sleeping potion that night. It was delicious brandy made woth rose and lavender. The alpacas were a delight and I actually go to pet some and get some real closeups of these gentle creatures. Our room was rustic as all getout and incredibly clean and cozy warm. The farm is convenient to wineries, restaurants, historic New Bedford and some real beautiful lakes and woodlands. Believe me, by the time we got finished traveling around western CT all day, we just aout had the energy to go to dinner at some of the dozens of reataurants in the area (reviewed elsewhere). We plan on going back in some warmer weather so we can introduce our parrot to the alpacas. The only thing we missed this trip were the pot bellied pigs, which evedently don't take too well to the cold February temperatures and the snow.

The loft is very cozy and spacious. We've spent the weekend exploring Kent and Lake Waramaug. Coming home to alpacas every day and waking up to them each morning was a real treat I think our dog had more fun than we did! If you are expecting a 5 star hotel this place is not for you. It's a loft above a barn where the alpacas stay. This place is truly for someone who is low key and just wants to relax & enjoy nature. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the shower has hot water, the AC is pumping (in mid-July with a lot of humidity), and there are fresh towels when you arrive. Sal also has a recommendation for everything so be sure to ask him about his favorite local spots! One thing I wish we did was bring a cooler and beach towels. We went to Lake Waramaug for the day and we were not prepared. Otherwise our stay on the farm was unique and relaxing!! If you like exploring nature and love the company of different animals, highly recommend you visit Bella Alpaca.

Nicole is not only incredibly organized and thorough but she gives tremendous advise too. The cottages are lovely and spotless due to her focus on the details and big picture. With Nicole as manager, we are considering renting some of the cottages for an extended family winter vacation. Nicole and everyone on her team are courteous and helpful, setting a wonderful tone. The neighborhood is just ok but once you walk onto the property, you'll see why its a little oasis, right on the lake. The cottages are lovely --modern with full nice kitchens, fireplaces, comfortable beds, etc. We used local vendors which worked out so well! They all had worked on the property and with each other so it was flawless. We had such a good experience, we're considering renting some of the cottages for a family reunion. It was a great apartment in the rear of the building - with lovely sunny view of the alley. The kitchen was great to convene for a quick dinner and the bathroom is lovely with its clawfoot bathtub. Apart with some minor noise from mail trucks at the local post office the apartment was quiet and cozy. Hudson Milliner is centrally located to most of the shops and restaurants and was walking distance to the train. We had a great time and had the pleasure to meet the hosts.

I have stayed in the 2-bedroom suite Top Hat multiple times (last time in February 2024) and have loved every visit. The place has been impeccably and lovingly renovated with special touches like custom shelving made from reclaimed vintage pieces and adorable mid-century (but working!) kitchen appliances. In the last year or so, they built a gorgeous enclosed garden for everyone to enjoy. The owners are super sweet and friendly and you can tell that they really care about their inn and their guests.

It was seemingly clean for the most part although we were so exhausted the real nitty-gritty of things didn't matter this stay. Upon arriving and immediately stripping back the top covers of my bed to inspect the sheets, I did find multiple exfoliated hairs...MULTIPLE. Now, while the sheets "seemed" clean, if a set of sheets goes through a complete wash cycle and then is dried in a heated tumble dryer, how are there so many remaining black hairs (amongst other specs and spots of particulates) up and down the length of the bed sheets? Again, I was exhausted and turned the other cheek this time as the pillow cases were pristine but fair warming to the owners - the next time/stay we will be MUCH more particular and wanting for answers if I find what I found this recent stay. Bottom line: the place is small, compact, basic and no frills but overall, it's safe, clean and serves the purpose. I will stay here again BUT, a warning to the owners that this visit concerned me regarding the cleanliness of the sheets - by no means should I have found what I found on my sheets! Best wishes.
