Every inch felt welcoming and comfortable for our family of four. The waterfall at the Stratton Falls campus was absolutely stunning and incredibly relaxing. Falling asleep to the sound of the water from our deck made the experience feel truly special. Even with the cold weather, there were still plenty of activities to keep our family entertained. Between the waterfalls, game room, Netflix, life-sized chess, foosball, air hockey, the Crooked Cabana bar, hot tub, and dry sauna -- this place truly has it all. A special thank you to Chuck for making our Mother's Day weekend even more memorable than we could have imagined. From the cookies and coffee to the kids' welcome packets, every detail reflected warmth and care. We could not imagine a more family-friendly and welcoming experience. This was our third stay here, and it somehow keeps getting better every time. We already cannot wait to come back again and bring even more of our family with us next time.

Our bagged breakfast was missing a few items we ordered. That really was not ideal, as we had a long drive ahead of us to the city. So we ended up having to stop to get a couple of things since what we planned on having was not there. Also, the wait for someone to be at check in was long. We went to the Stratton falls first accidentally. It's 2.5 miles from where our location was. Apparently, the guy at check in saw us and knew we were at the wrong property (they were full at that location) but didn't tell us when he saw us. (We didn't see him). When my son finally found someone (that guy) he said "I saw you when you came in and knew you went to the wrong place...". Ok.... So you just let us stand around for 12 min, before we went searching for you? He wouldn't even give us more than "it's down the road." Directions to the other place. That guy was an awful first impression. The lady at our location was lovely, but he made the initial feeling stick with me. So, customer service sucked because of him. I had friends that came to meet us from 30 min away and had to wait an additional 20 min thanks to that guy. Would I suggest it? If the service continues like it was... no. Fun themes though. I hear they moved to new ownership, so maybe that's what is going on.

We were looking for an all inclusive to take my mom for a girls weekend and I just stumbled upon…read morethis place not knowing that it was insanely popular and also not aware that there was a mystery weekend. Once I booked it and asked around I realized that Mohonk has a huge following especially for the mystery weekend. I was excited to also learn that there was an Edward Gorey art exhibit! 2&1/2 hours from my house, not a bad drive! Check in time was at 4:00 but we got there early so they stored our luggage and said that they would deliver it to our room and call us when it was ready. We got a quick bite in the bar area which was not included in the weekend but we were starving! Then we looked around and went to a healing bowl meditation in the spa area. It was so relaxing, a great start to the weekend. They called us to come get our key and we went up to the room. It was Victorian looking with a balcony that had rocking chairs and 2 beds. Very pretty. The bathroom was big and had a walk in shower. It think it was a handicapped room. I didn't request one but when I called to make the reservation I inquired about how difficult it would be for a person to get around with a walker so perhaps they took the hint. The resort was massive!! And also beautiful to look at inside and out. It was also extremely clean with fresh flowers all over the place and little nooks to sit in to look outside and take in the views. The mystery weekend was so much fun. It was a play in 4 parts and by Sunday at 10 am you had to submit your guess as to "whodunnit". Just like a real life game of clue. There was also a thick packet of puzzles and games to try to solve by looking all over the hotel at the artwork to solve them. We ended up skipping that packet because we wanted a more relaxing experience. We did participate in the tabletop escape room which was really fun. We also skipped an afternoon tea on Saturday that let you interact with the characters and ask them questions to help try to solve the murder mystery. Instead we went to the spa for 2 different meditation classes. We repeated the sound bowl from the day before and also took another one which was part lecture and part meditation. I think we were supposed to choose between the mystery weekend and the regular stay which included the classes because there was so much to do besides participating in the mystery activities that we couldn't get to any other resort activities without skipping the mystery activities. We loved the mystery activities but decided that next time we would go for a relaxing spa type of stay. As far as the food, it was delicious and a lot of it! There was breakfast, brunch/lunch and dinner. We opted out of the breakfast and went to brunch both days which was a buffet with breakfast and lunch options. There were also stations to get freshly made food such as pasta, waffles, carving stations and a whole dessert area. The food was definitely upscale. For dinner it was a sit down with a waiter and a 3 course meal. The dinners took forever! First came the bread which was freshly baked and amazing, then we ordered the appetizer and the entire. The appetizers took a long time to come out but the entree took at least 45 min to arrive both nights. On Friday night we had to be at the first installment of the murder mystery play at 9:00 and our dinner came at 8:50! We took a few bites and had to leave. They were nice enough to tell us to stop back later to pick up our dessert to eat in the room. I enjoyed the brunch more than the dinners to be honest, the fish dish I had one night was extremely bland. Second night, same snafu but we did not have to be anywhere at 9pm so we stuck it out. If there were 1/2 stars this place would rate a 4&1/2 in my book. The 1/2 being taken because of the dinners and the price of the weekend. Now that I am on the mailing list, they are sending me some better deals and specials. I'll definitely be back to take advantage of those!

It's one of those rare spots where you can actually hear yourself relax while soaking in the beauty of nature. The meals? Sublime. I'm still thinking about them. The activities and staff? Absolutely fantastic. We did archery today, and Dylan, the director, made me feel like a slightly clumsy but very enthusiastic woodland hero. So much fun! And of course, the labyrinth rock scramble--with the iconic Fat Man's Misery and Lemon Squeeze--was an adventure I'll be bragging about until someone makes me stop. Truly a blast. All in all, it's worth every penny of the splurge. Cheers to everyone who treats themselves--you deserve it!

I love it and will probably order it again next time I go. My husband ordered the Bratwurst, as an appetizer, and the seafood saute, as a main dish. He had also ordered these the last time we were there. He likes them so much, why try anything else? The pre-dinner cocktails we had - Barr Hill tonic for me and Aperol Spritz for my husband - were very refreshing. Every time we go to this restaurant for dinner, we have sat outside overlooking Lake Waramaug. What a view! Our server was very competent. We never felt rushed and we truly enjoyed every minute of our meal. We went on Saturday evening and the restaurant was packed; however, the staff was able to manage it well and they were very welcoming. We are looking forward to our next meal here.

I shared we were there for restaurant week where that menu was also brought over. We were the only people seated in this section of the restaurant. I ordered the seafood special and my husband requested the schnitzel. Note, he said schnitzel! We started with appetizers, I had the crab cake my husband had the melon and prosciutto. Now the entree arrived and then dessert of crepes with ice cream and chocolate sauce. All on the restaurant week menu by the way. Meal was delicious until the bill arrived. I paid without looking ( my bad ) until I realized the total of 131 dollars . When I realized ( after paying ) that there was an error in cost ( three course meal for 40 dollars ) should have been 80 dollars plus three cocktails. My first response was wow, cocktails must be very expensive which they actually were very reasonable, I asked the waiter to come back. He said my husband said weinerschitzel not jaegersniitzel ! Seriously. We were very vocal about the restaurant week and quite obvious with the appetizer and dessert chosen from the menu . Although the food was very good we left with a very bad taste and a much larger bill than expected. So, lesson learned, check that bill before paying during restaurant week ! PS: the waiter was argumentative when approached and was oh ok , I'll take the appetizer off , walked away and started playing on the computer for 5 mins with no communication, we simply stood up and left. Ridiculous
