I've visited the Amp before and it's super fun to explore the new shipping container shops/restaurants. There is an ample amount of seating along with a stage for live in-person performances. They offer a Farmers Market on Saturdays! On Thursday for lunch I visited and had a quick bite to eat. Each place has their own quality food with friendly service. There are a few free street parking spots which fill up fast & then a paid parking lot directly across the street. On average, you may spend about $10-20 for a meal. read more

I finally made it over to the amp today, and I'm glad I did, it was a beautiful and sunshiny day. They are located on the west side; and there is ample parking around the space once you walk up and go in. You'll see that there are several different options for food and a large bar in the middle. The food options are diverse, which I appreciate because I love a variety. I absolutely love going to The AMP at 16 Tech there are so many different shops from restaurants, plant shops, barber shop, healthy food places, all natural supplements area, there are more out there as well as more to come. Outside of The AMP 16 there construction, so many great things will start to happen outside of The AMP, and more different shops. My 1st time at The AMP was May of 2021 for a Sip & Share Wines event. when it wasn't officially open yet with all the shops we see today. I love containers concept where it used to be a part of trucks, people came with the creative ideas where it can used for different shops which it's different and a success. The AMP is more than a food hall--it's a dynamic cultural center that is home to community events and entertainment year-round. Inside the AMP, you'll find high ceilings, exposed beams and culinary artisans serving eclectic fare from brightly colored shipping containers. A diverse variety of food stalls featuring delicious and inventive food. A full bar, and plenty of seating both indoors and outside. If you want to experience the cutting edge of Indy's culinary and cultural community in a vibrant and exciting setting, look no further than the AMP. If I could improve anything about the AMP: cohesiveness. I rightfully compare this to The Garage on Mass Ave. The Garage is very cohesive, and while there are tons of different businesses in there, it seems cohesive and together. This one, idk. There's just something off about it. It doesn't feel as communal, personally. Regardless, I still love the concept. As long as they do work to ensure that those living in the neighborhood for centuries aren't displaced, I think it's a great addition to the extended IUPUI area. Lots of diversity and minority-owned businesses, which is a plus. The hours of this place are disappointing as well. Most places close for dinner at 6pm on weekdays? Huh? Who can get home from work, drive there, all before 6pm? Doesn't work well for most people. Some places are open that late, but not most. Again, lack of cohesion. read more

The vintage market had so many great vendors; I will be sure to keep up with their social media to see the next time they have a market or event. Overall, the AMP is a great food hall that has so many restaurants and drink places. No matter what you're in the mood for, you'll find something you love. I love The AMP. The variety of different shops, the atmosphere, the service is always warm and inviting. I stopped in for a quick bite with Indys Food Architect, Corey McDaniel. The Food Architect has alkaline vegan eats and treats that are soooo delicious. I got the red lentil and turnip green pasta that warmed my soul. It was so flavorful and filling. It was a large portion that was about $14 & totally worth it. He also had special made juices ($9) and my favorite is, LOVE. Definitely a go to for your vegan needs. I checked out another shop and met Ms Lauren, the CEO, of Goody 2 Treats she was so sweet and OMG these cupcakes were AMAZING! The cupcakes are beautifully crafted and feed my sweet tooth just looking at them but I definitely had to try. I opted for the Peach Cobbler and Strawberry Cheesecake. Biting into the peach cobbler was peachy cinnamon Heavennnnn (that's me singing from the heavens) lol. The strawberry cheesecake was filled with strawberries and cheesecake and had a slice of cheesecake on top....WHATTTT....I KNOW. I felt like Homer Simpson when he salivates over donuts lol. This is a super cute spot! Several different options and definitely a big variety in food choices available. The space was open and perfect for kids. our little ones were restless and they were able to run around on one of the sides with a big open space. I had Caplinger's and my husband had the healthy Soul Food place. My daughter had the PB&J factory (basically dessert on a peanut butter sandwich lol) and everything was amazing! We'll def be back and I hope this model spreads to other parts of the city! So convenient to have so many places under one roof. read more

I came to the AMP to pick up a Yelp Elite perk at Healthy Soul, and it was a different experience. I came on Saturday afternoon, and it was completely dead. There was construction going on near the building, so trying to park was very difficult. When I walked in, I saw a bakery, and a bunch of sweet shops, until I finally came to Healthy Soul. There was hardly anyone in the food hall at all, except a small group of people. The ladies at Healthy Soul were very professional and friendly and took good care of my order. The AMP did have quite a good selection of restaurants. There was Butler's Pizza, and I did see a chicken wings place as well. I did see quite a few sweet shops and ice cream places as well that looked very good. The value of my food at Healthy Soul was very good, and would definitely come back here as well. The AMP is quite a distance from me, and with construction taking place, it is difficult to get to the building and park, so that is why I am giving this place three stars. If I get back here for an event or to meet friends, and things are better, I may change my rating. All in all, the AMP is a great place, but this was just a different experience. read more

I was in a bit of a celebratory mood this evening after experiencing some success on a project at work. I decided to grab myself a meal and try to snag a Yelp review. I'd been curious about The AMP and decided it was close enough that I would drive by it. The AMP is located in the former service bay of the Indianapolis Water Company. The neighborhood is definitely urban industrial and The AMP maintains that urban industrial vibe inside and out. AMP stands for Artisan Marketplace. The Amp is an artisan marketplace and food hall. It's really in the process of opening with some tenants open, some tenants preparing to open, and some spots still either to be claimed or having not yet been started. The AMP is in the heart of 16 Tech, an urban innovation district established in the Riverside Neighborhood. It's adjacent to the historic Indiana Avenue. If you look around, you'll see businesses marking innovation in the life sciences, technology, advanced manufacturing, and engineering. It's directly part of Hq0 and you can spot the 1776 Workspace and Machyne Makerspace immediately around The AMP. I will admit it took me a few minutes to figure out parking. There's some time-limited street parking and also paid parking that offers more time for a fee. The paid parking is a similar set-up to The Garage - you pay at a central location and want to make sure to do that because they watch the lot carefully. I snagged a free spot along the street. The street is fairly lightly traveled right now and I felt safe getting out in my wheelchair. the curb cuts are great. The front door is a glass door - a little heavy but not bad. I'll admit being a touch surprised they didn't automate the doors since this is high-tech. You enter and you're essentially in this gigantic food hall, vendor hall, etc. It's definitely a more industrial and grungy vibe than The Garage. The Garage is infinitely more hipster. I will admit that I found it a bit frustrating to arrive before 5pm and probably half of the places "open" were, in fact, not open. For example, both Tinker Coffee and Circle City Sweets close around 3pm. That made it feel like City Market to me - One of my frustrations with City Market is the lack of predictability about open vendors. At least right now, the same seems to be true here. Other vendors include Frankie's Pizza, Azucar Morena (Venezuelan Arepa Bar), Andres BBQ and Seafood, Boba and Everything, The Food Architect, The Healthy Soul, Hiatus Bar (run by folks from Hi-Fi Indy), Mambo's Cheesesteak, Melon Kitchens, PB&J Factory, Poke Guru, Prox, Punkin's Pies, Taste of Innova Wings & Greens, Waterway Fish Market, Yamallama Delicatessen, and Black Orchid Barbershop. Others are to come. I'd hoped to go to Frankie's - their website says they have "by the slice" at 16 Tech, but they didn't have by the slice. So, um, go figure. Hiatus was open. Mambo's was open. Poke Guru was open. I think maybe PB&J was open and Andres had just closed. So, basically. I ended up leaving without getting anything. Oh wait. Punkin's was also open, but I really wanted a meal and not dessert. So, it was disappointing to have Frankie's basically do false advertising (If you're going to say you have by the slice...have it). I am honestly tempted to go a 3-star, but I'm also keeping in mind that The AMP is still new, not everything's open, and I like a lot of what they've done with accessibility. I even noticed that they have a small stage and they've built a ramp onto it. Bravo. For that alone, the 4-star is safe. Ultimately, however, I doubt I'll return until it's fully open. I'll also probably wait for a weekend so I can check out Tinker Coffee and Circle City Sweets. This was definitely a bit disappointing and I'd have been super irritated if I'd paid for parking, but there's lots of promise here and lots of projects in the works here that will make this a wonderfully creative, communal, and entrepreneurial space. I work from home and have been looking for places to work during the day to get a change of scenery. I went to try out The AMP on a Friday afternoon and it's a very interesting place. I've been to food halls before, but this one wasn't great. I just moved to the Indianapolis area and felt like I was in a somewhat sketchy part of town. (Not sure if it was just because the GPS took me a back way or what) Once I arrived, there was a large parking lot across the street. I couldn't tell if you had to pay for the labeled spaces or all spaces, but it was confusing. It wasn't even that busy and the parking lot was nearly full. I'm curious to see what parking is like on a busy Friday night. There are a lot of options for food once inside. I opted for the Italian restaurant and built my own pasta. You can choose a sauce, noodle, and other add ons. I would never order from there again. The pasta was soggy & the chicken I added was so chewy that I'm not sure how safe it was to eat. For $13, you're better off spending your money elsewhere. When it comes to seating, this is a great place for a lunch with coworkers or maybe a happy hour. This is not a workspace, as there aren't many tables with access to outlets. But, the space does have free wifi. A winter farmers market was also advertised. If it weren't for that, I would probably never try this place again. read more

Great place to try new and upcoming start up restaurants. We got food from Mambo's Cheesesteaks. The sandwiches were super fresh and delicious! They have your normal cheesesteaks but then some twists that add some South American flavor! I got the Chivito (grilled steak, bacon, ham, mozzarella, fried egg, topped with Aji & Rocoto sauce, and choose of toppings). They have a Mambo's sauce which is fire, get them on your fries too! So good and would go back if at AMP. AMP is a great concept for up and coming entrepreneurs in the Food and Beverage industry. Maybe someone can help me understand , but I went yesterday, which was a Monday. I was really stoked to check it out but once I walked in, no one was there lol. There were only 2 food vendors open (Poke Guru & Fresko). Everythingggggg else was closed and dark. Before going I looked it up to make sure The AMP was open so I figured I could walk in and choose any place I like during open hours, like the other surrounding food halls but maybe I just chose the wrong day. I was pretty bummed about it lol. Also, parking is not free which was weird to me given the area. Everything around here now charges to park lol. If you're lucky, there are a few 2 hour street parking spots available but not many. read more

This space is great because it is way less crowded than Bottleworks but still has so many options! The food court style is a great way to make sure there is something for everyone in your group. The convenient location near downtown also makes it a great place to go for lunch or for drinks after work. My favorite aspect about this space is that so many of these business are owned by women and by underrepresented folks. This is a great place to grab awesome food while keeping your dollars local. This is a very generous 4 star review! I was super stoked to take my family here to celebrate a family members birthday. Last time I was here, all of the restaurants were open it was super fun. This time. There were 5 restaurants open. Five! On a Saturday night. So that was a real bummer. I'm not sure if they have a schedule they post somewhere to say the hours of each restaurant, if not, they definitely should. Of the restaurants that were open, we ate at Mambos, whose Philly cheesesteaks were a huge hit! We also tried the poké place which was pretty good. I personally tried the wings from the wings and greens place. They were pretty good, the sauce was really thick and goopy though. Next time I would ask for them to be more crispy. If 80% of the restaurants are going to be closed on a Saturday they really need to come up with a way to post each places hours. It also makes me worried for this place, a Saturday afternoon/night and this place is dead? I've heard it gets a lot of traffic during the week during business lunch hours but holy moly I was shocked. We were a few of maybe 20 customers in the whole place! I went with a group to the new AMP 16 food hall last night. It's a large area and each food vendor is housed in a shipping container. Lots of great options for a group. Vendors include: Frankie's Pizza Parlor, Circle City Sweets, Taste of Innova Wings & Greens, Punkin's Pies, PROX Salad, Tinker Coffee, Mambos, Cheesesteak Grill, Boba & Everything, Azucar Morena, Andre's BBQ & Seafood, Healthy Soul, The Food Architect, Limon Taqueria, Poke Guru and more. Not all are open yet but it still early days. I tried Poke Guru and Boba Everything which were both excellent. Others enjoyed the wings from Taste of Innova. There is a large bar area in the center of the hall with a wide assortment of beers and specialty drinks. There is a stage area and the hall seats around 350 so there are some great opportunities for a variety of events. I like that these restaurants are owned locally and hope that Indy will come out and support these businesses. Parking is free on side streets and there is a pay parking lot. This place has lots of potential. Get out and visit. read more

I visited The Amp for a Yelp Hot and New around Indy event. This was my first time visiting and I will for sure be back. It was easy to find parking, and the space was clean with plenty of seating. We tried The Beast, Boba & Everything, and Mambo's. Everything we ordered was delicious and all the staff we encountered were friendly and happy to answer questions. I'm excited to return and try some of the other vendors. This was a fun new place to visit. We ate at Andre's BBQ and Seafood. The fried shrimp and greens were cooked to perfection. My husband had the Hot Links and Fries. We explored the menus at the various restaurants, bakery, Tinker Coffee, Waterway Seafood Market and The Bar. The repurposed shipping containers are a fun way to create food booths and were nicely decorated. I can't wait to come back and try more as the new restaurants continue to open. Glad we made the trip downtown to check this place out. I thought it was going to be a Bottleworks type place. It's a mix of food stations and farmers market vendors. Went for my favorite croissants at Circle City Sweets, picked up some breakfast at Mambo's and got carry out spring rolls. There was live music and it was really quite busy for 9:30 am but we were able to find a table to eat at. I wouldn't drive down every week for this place since we live on the NE side but definitely worth going back. Street parking and small lot parking. The lots were free on Saturday so I don't know if they're free during the week. If they're not free, there was not very much street parking. read more

Why is it so empty all the time? Even for trivia on Tuesday nights, there are only a handful of tables taken. I hope they get more business soon, because it's such a great venue! This place is awesome! My fiancee and I are building a house in Riverside and knowing that The AMP was going to be opening not long after construction started was a big motivator for us. It's got so many amazing vendors! There's a coffee shop, a bakery, a fish market, a bar, a bagel and tea shop, a sweet shop, wings, bbq, pizza, and the list goes on and on! So excited to see all of these small business opening and love that about 65% of them are owned by people of color and/or women! There's a lot of seating and there is some free street parking out front. If you like the Garage Food Hall, definitely check out the AMP too! It's a gem! read more

I have mixed feelings and I will say this 4 star review is on the generous side. First for positives: Cool concept that aesthetically is appealing, there is a lot of paid parking (consider getting the ParkMobile app), and this location seems to have a lot of potential. Musical/entertainment events could easily be had here. The actual space is pretty open, making it easy to navigate. The concept seems pretty cool. My concern is it seems there isn't a lot of effort to get companies/vendors to come in AND be operational. There seems to be less effort on getting foot traffic to this location. I've been surprised by the lack of advertising, and there's virtually no signage until you are right in front of the building. I hope this takes off; but, if something doesn't change, I suspect some of the vendors will be forced to go elsewhere. read more

The idea of taking old shipping containers and renovating them into something like this is brilliant. The AMP (Artisan Marketplace) is the next modern food court to hit the city. It's a large, open food court similar to Bottleworks and the City Market. Some restaurants are open, but some tenants are still in the works of "moving in." There's ample seating and open spaces, which is so refreshing! They are definitely getting there! I love the idea of having a place for small businesses to get a start or to make a jump from just having a food truck to having a slightly more permanent location. I had stopped by a few times after work in their earlier days sad to see nothing was open and then gave up trying for a bit. I came back recently during the late afternoon on a Tuesday, and more was open at that time. It looks like they now have hours for each business posted on the AMP website, which is helpful, and some are open at least until 6PM now with a couple open until 8PM some evenings. They have a few new additions that look promising including another location of Caplinger's which is one of the ones open later per the website. This will be good for the next time I'm in the mood for seafood on my way home from work! I seriously work very close to the AMP, but usually have "working lunches" (meaning...stuff food in my face while I'm at my computer) and so can't actually leave for lunch...but can stop somewhere on the way home to grab dinner, so I'm hoping there is enough demand for dinner hours that more businesses decide to stay open a little later. There is some limited free parking on Gent, and for anyone with an IUPUI hang tag, there are nearby surface lots that never seem totally full. read more

Lots of potential here! Given it was the soft opening; this place was great. Vendors were super friendly!! Hit and miss with the food but I bet it just gets better. Best things I ate were the poke bowl from Poke Guru and the salads from PROX. We loved our little banana bite from Circle City Sweets too! We will return for sure. read more

I am certain that I will need to revise or at least update this review in a month or so once there is a grand opening and more shops have moved into the AMP (Artisan MarketPlace). Like another review, I think this place has a lot of potential. It is intended to serve the many new businesses locating in the Tech 16 development as well as serve the neighboring communities providing some job opportunities for locals who may not have high tech degrees that many of the employees of Tech 16 will have. Nice to see a new development think of benefitting the existing neighborhoods while providing state of the art buildings/research facilities, etc. When I compare it to other communal areas like "The Garage at Bottleworks", this place is much brighter and at least currently, much quieter. I noticed that on the east end of the AMP is a raised stage so there may be a time when live music/entertainment may raise the sound levels. But now with just a few shops open while more construction goes on in the east end of the building, it was easy to carry on a conversation and easy to hear the staff working at the shops. Note that a new side road will be added from Gent Street on the north side of the AMP building which will provide access to a 1000 car parking facility to accommodate the crowds that will be drawn to this area. Right now, there is limited free parking along Gent Street. Hopefully, the construction will catch up with the demand as more people find their way here. For those who know where Guggman Haus Brewery, The AMP is just a few blocks south on Gent. As of my last visit, Circle City Sweets and Tinker Coffee Co at the AMP were open. Prox (from the City Market) is nearly ready with chef crafted salads. Frankie's Pizza Parlor looks close to being ready on the east end where the construction is currently limiting access.
