Praline Pecan & Cream Cheese Cake

We ordered a cake for my father's 76th birthday. It was delicious. It was no slices left. The staff was amazing in helping us decide on the cake and size. The store was really nice & clean. I will be back the next time Im in town.

Fresh Strawberry Cake

The Ambrosia Bakery on Siegen Lane has some of the best desserts in Baton Rouge. My all-time favorite is their fresh strawberry cake. It's always incredibly moist, full of real strawberry flavor, and perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. The service is consistently great, with a friendly team that makes every visit enjoyable. If you choose to dine in, the cozy café-style atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy something sweet.

Custom Birthday Cake

Ambrosia is truly a Baton Rouge staple. I've ordered just about every birthday cake over the last 8 years from them. The quality and taste is consistent. The ordering process for custom cakes is really seamless! And they can create just about anything you like. They also made my wedding cake 3 years ago! I will be a life long customer. If you haven't experienced Ambrosia, definitely try their signature strawberry cake! It's top tier for sure!

Macaroon cake 10" Round

Best and most beautiful special event cakes in town! White almond cake with buttercream frosting is divine The bridal luncheon cake they created for my DIL was phenomenal. Everyone raved about it!

A dessert lover's heaven.. myself included! From doughnuts to cake pops to cannolis to bread, Ambrosia literally has it all, and you don't even need to order ahead because all of this was in the case! Right on Siegen, this is the perfect location for a bakery in my opinion. It is a huge building with plenty of parking, and you can see it clearly from the street unlike most bakeries. I went at 8:30am on Saturday, and there were customers! I didn't wait in a line because they were tons of employees working, which I really liked. I just wanted to pick up some late Valentines treats for some friends, so I just wanted a treat box. Everything was displayed perfectly and prices were easily read. Again, so many options to pick from. I ended up going with this huge brownie thing, two cookies, two cake pops, and a cream puff. I thought I was going to break the bank, but man I was wrong. All of this was under $20 and was ready when I was done deciding what I want. I was so pleasantly surprised. They also had treats displayed around the store if you didn't want to pick out of the case. For wedding cakes, they have their own part of the store! They did a really good job organizing this bakery and making room for everything. I will totally be back with an empty stomach haha.

I had the best experience ordering my son's first birthday cake from Ambrosia! After several guests canceled, they were quick and kind in helping me adjust my order. On top of that, they called me back after noticing I ordered a small cake as a smash cake and let me know they offer one for free for first birthdays. Such thoughtful service. On top of that, the cake was exactly what I wanted--simple, beautiful and delicious! My guests loved it. Highly recommend the yellow cake with a chocolate buttercream filling and white icing. Exactly what a birthday cake should be! Beyond pleased--we will continue to use Ambrosia for our celebrations.

They have a very inviting environment. Their variety of Sweet treats makes it difficult to only buy what you were looking for. Hmmm.

Then I remembered Maxwell's! Their sandwiches always hit the spot! I ordered the Rustic Chicken sandwich. I like their French bread because it's not too hard or cooked. It was quickly prepared and the girls at the front checked me out in no time. I was home before i knew it and very satisfied with each bite! Another excellent experience!

Instead, the lettuce was literally COOKED like steaming hot and there was melty mozzarella cheese inside, which is odd because Caesar salads don't typically include mozzarella - just Parmesan. The tortilla didn't taste fresh, and i think they just took the whole wrap and pressed it flat in a panini press. The heat made the lettuce completely wilted, and this was the most disappointing chicken Caesar wrap I've ever experienced. There was also not enough chicken or fillings inside like overall it was a very small wrap for the price. The quality of their shredded chicken is great, but everything else was extremely subpar. After receiving mine with the mozzarella (lactose intolerant), I even decided to bite the bullet and order a second one (so I paid for two) and this time specified no cheese at all, and extra chicken. The second one STILL had cheese, and the same amount of chicken. The sweet potato fries were fine, and the build your own sandwich my boyfriend got was good. just don't do the wrap from here yall. Go to the Perkins location.

For catering, I was surprised at how many options there were! There was salads, sandwiches, vegetarian options and lots of sides and dessert options. Because I didn't know if the sandwiches would come with sauce on them, which I don't like, I opted for a Cesar salad with a brownie. During our meeting before lunch, Jason's Deli delivered our boxes and put our names on the boxes so you knew which one was yours. I really liked this inside of just categorizing by lunch type: sandwich, salad, soup. When I opened my box, my Cesar salad was there with a big cup of dressing on the side. There was also two slices of bread and my delicious brownie. The salad was delicious and so was the bread and brownie. If I'm ever needing to cater for something, I am definitely doing Jason's Deli!

The muffalata sandwich was average, you only get to choose from ham & salami or turkey. When ordering we got the quarter muffalata special, the guy made it sound like you had to choose between ham, salami or turkey. It tasted decent, but not the real deal. Currently they have French onion soup, delicious! It was full of onions. Would def get it again. The salad bar was constantly being refreshed with new food. $7.79 and you can get a "side salad". I was so filled from the salad I didn't even need the sandwich. For $20 you have 2 full meals. Can't beat that.

The champagne was really good, cold and crisp, exactly what I needed after a long day of work. One morning, I was pressed for time and wanted something for breakfast so I go the salmon bagel and a cup of coffee (which was also free because I was staying in the hotel). The bagel itself was good but VERY salty, it came on a everything bagel with boursin cream cheese, spinach and capers. I usually ask for a plain bagel whenever I get a bagel with smoked salmon but wanted to try something different. I have a feeling that this would have made a difference. I ended up deconstructing and only eating the salmon, cream cheese, spinach and capers on one half of the bagel, this made it a tad bit less saltier. The coffee was also good considering I got to make it myself so no complaints there. Do note, that if you stay at the Watermark you do get a lot of perks at the Milford (free glass of champagne and free coffee any time throughout the day).

Our bill for 2 breakfast sandwiches and 1 OJ, came to $22. Whatever they are trying to pass as eggs here, is not cutting it. Just take a look at the pictures I took of our food... Breakfast sandwiches aren't typically made with "fluffy" eggs, because it doesn't fit well on a sandwich, and is too large to bite into! The eggs here are like 4 inches tall, mushy and almost unrecognizable as an egg. My boyfriend took one bite of his food, got up from the table and spit it into the trashcan. The texture was revolting. (He ordered the Turkey Scrambler). I am speechless... and still hungry. Go to McDonalds down the street. You'll eat better and spend alot less money.
