If you're gluten free and in Kelowna, I always make it a point to stop by Crumbs and Roses and…read moretheir mini cinnamon sugar donuts are a big reason why. These little donuts are seriously delicious. They're soft and fluffy on the inside with a light crisp on the outside, and the cinnamon sugar coating gives them that perfect sweet, cozy flavor. You honestly wouldn't even guess they're gluten free; they taste just like a classic mini donut from a fair or bakery. The mini size makes them dangerously snackable; it's basically impossible to stop at just one. Bonus: they freeze really well! I popped a few in the freezer and they still taste amazing after thawing, which makes them perfect to keep on hand for when a donut craving hits!

Not crazy about this place. It's a shame coz we were really looking forward to it…read more Servers weren't friendly. No smile. No greetings. No attention towards us. We had to call for service. I regretted tipping. Lesson learned - never tip before completing a meal and having the full experience. We waited about 20 mins for coffee. When we followed up, she said "it's coming"; and went about standing there doing nothing. This is insane. Food wasn't great but at least the bread and veggies were fresh. Coffee sucked. Sadly, we threw it away. It felt like the leftover at the end of a brewing pot when we paid for and expected a luscious latte. Not going back. Not a nice vibe. Sad.

Our first proper vegan meal visiting the lovely city of Kelowna, BC for the VegFest Kelowna event…read morethe next day. It was our pleasure to meet so many amazing people at their weekly meetup (every Saturday after 5pm .. attendees receive 20% off food items). Most everyone at that meetup were dedicated VegFest volunteers, giving of their time and energy to contribute to making the event a great success. We are admittedly, but lowly groupies .. just following and attending the event at all three of their showings in the BC area this year (Nanaimo, Victoria (which I still have to post pictures of ...) and now Kelowna (which I'll also have to post pictures of lol) The dishes we had at Naked Cafe were spectacular, and I don't use that word lightly, with an incredible amount of flavor and depth in in every bite! They also have an incredible variety of items, brunch, dinner, lattes, adult beverages, pizza, and so much more! Whenever you make it out to Kelowna, the Naked Cafe needs to be on your list of top places to visit.

We were looking for a bakery that had vegan options for a little bite one morning in Kelowna. This…read moreplace fit the bill pretty well in that the whole bakery is vegan. Tons of baked items on display when you arrive, plus a small menu of breakfast / lunch items. Since we wanted something heartier and less sweet, we ordered a couple of breakfast burritos ($6 each plus tax), as well as a couple of coffees to go. The burritos were ready in under 10 minutes. The burritos were very small, but I guess for $6 it's not a bad deal. Unfortunately for us, everything is also gluten free, so the wraps that come with the burritos are not a nice texture -- very papery and dry, and doesn't seem to stay together all that well. The filling was better, coming with tofu scramble, potatoes, and vegan cheese. The scrambled tofu was nice, the potatoes were dry and didn't have great texture, but the vegan cheese gives it a nice sauciness to it. They've gotta get better wraps for these, as this was a bit of a deal-breaker for me; I wouldn't order these again. 2.5/5 The coffees on the other hand were very nice. I'd gladly come back for coffee and maybe to try the baked/sweet goods.
