I was referred by my friend Thomas Ennis, who told me they were one of the most professional property management and real estate teams in Ventura County, and he was absolutely right. When I first contacted Kristina Brewer, she responded immediately and came to see the property right away. Her energy, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the Ventura County rental market were impressive. Kristina researched rental comparables in Ventura, helped determine the best rental price, and guided the entire process smoothly. The home was professionally prepared and cleaned by Fantastic All Care Inc., and the RE/MAX team arranged professional real estate photography and marketing that made the property look amazing. Within a short time they found the perfect tenant -- qualified, responsible, and exactly what every property owner hopes for. He was paid to do a kitchen and bathroom remodel and he did half of the job and left without completing a single project. He and his subcontractors did not complete sub flooring repairs, installed damaged cabinets, painted windows shut, left bubbles in the ceiling, put large holes in walls with no explanation for what they are for, holes were placed in our original 1927 wood floors, screens were damaged, and door locks were painted over. Darren was attentive, understanding, forthright, and was totally dedicated to helping me find the perfect home! As a first time homeowner, I really had no idea what to look for, but Darren is incredibly knowledgeable about all things real estate, and if he doesn't know the answer, he will take the time find the right one before giving you any information! He's also spent time working on his own home in his spare time so he knows what he looks for construction wise and was able to give me valuable feedback regarding home renovations I wanted to do upon the close of escrow. We ended up finding the perfect starter place and Darren made the process EASY! Also, If you don't have a lender yet, I would also ask Darren to speak with Martin Litwin. He also works out of this office and made my loan process a breeze! He will take time to answer your questions if you don't understand something. He listens to your concerns, has excellent follow up, and will do everything in his power to get you the property of your dreams! I could not be more satisfied with my home-buying experience. I'm a banker myself, so I see how grueling this process can be for my own clients, but I can honestly say, having these two individuals on my team really made the process such a Great one!! If you don't have a realtor or a lender yet, YOU NEED TO TALK TO DARREN AND MARTIN!!! Thank you for everything you do, gentlemen! I

Working with Susan Brooks was fun and professional at the same time. We relocated from Arizona to…read moreCalifornia and needed to rent a house for the first time. Renting a house in our price range was not an easy task. We planned a few days here in CA with Susan and since houses rent so fast we had to leave CA back to AZ with no rental. She did a great job, we are very happy!

Holding…read morepaperwork and waiting to give it to me by e-mail (insecure!) an hour before deadlines, telling me I had better get it back to them or the entire real estate deal is off is not appropriate. Of course, it was more than just signing papers and sending them back - I had to contact other agencies and financial institutions for records, which would take several days. When I told Chicago Title Company this, their response was a simple "Noted." in an e-mail, and an even worse attitude than before. Despite their lack of proactive support, the real estate deal did go through, but they failed to send the correct paperwork to my (now former) homeowner's association. The HOA began threatening all sorts of wonderful things unless I brought my account current. After three phone calls and an e-mail threatening civil action against Chicago Title, they finally sent the paperwork, but didn't bother telling me - I had to follow up with the HOA and only then found out things were properly squared away. In something as big as a real estate transaction, you need to be assured your title company has your back - these people are not trustworthy. Beware!
