Very accommodating and not very busy, but service for installation and attention to detail is lacking severely. If they cared for your car like their own it would show in their work. Had to go back a second time to adjust speaker cover because it wasn't flush and had deep scratches where looks like they pryed open to get to speaker. After second visit, speakers are still not flush. Debating if I should waste my valuable time for a 3rd round. read more

So finally decided to get a Car starter installed like all the good little lemmings do. So we called around and got a couple quotes for about 3 places for our 2 SUV's (Honda & Mazda). The Honda dealership wanted $700 just for my Pilot....Ugh! So we passed on them but did verify that installing one would not void my warranty. Best Buy & P.C. Richard's wanted $700+ for both....but have heard numerous stories that made me not want to take the chance of the roulette wheel of whether my outcome would be good or bad. So, we told the guy at Action Auto our prior quotes and he said he'd do it for less with the Compustar starter for both vehicles and 2 fobs for each vehicle. I have heard people complain about the wait time but seriously people I'd rather be patient had wait while the guy takes his time and does a good job installing and does it right rather then rushing to get it done. Because, I think coming back for an issue is more of a waste of my time. It took about 2 1/2 hours per vehicle so budget that if you plan on coming here. And, both the women and the guys that helped we're extremely friendly. And the store is very clean and in a new building in Wethersfield instead of the busy Berlin Turnpike in Newington. And, I was very happy with my service and would definitely come back and refer my friends to them. read more

Located on the busy Berlin Turnpike parkway, this place is kind of hidden with its sign. They sell car audio parts and systems, as well as wheels. This place also has a shop that installs audio systems. They seem to have a pretty good selection of audio parts and systems. It's right next to a pawn shop. Action audio is nothing but a set of crooks, i bought my equipment online from amazon reciepts, paper works on weight size and specificatons of my merchandises i purchased which was a double 12" speakers and amplifier to matched . the work took six hours to complete and at the end the result was awful, i got a 10" box with an inferior amp. They switch my amp and soeakers fir something inferior, i was so hurt because i trusted nicky the front desk person, she has a deceiving smile dont let her fool you, she and the technician has a way of robbing tge customers. I was planning to spend a lot more money with the store but she is a wicked demon possesed deciever preying on the weak, she and the technician they have it made. Was told one price over the phone and then when I went in person was asked to pay an extra $275 because they believed I needed new box for my speaker for better quality but when I did my homework, found out that I didn't need a new box. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Keep your money and stay away. read more

Recently installed remote starter for my newer car which had a push button start and requires module for security by-pass. Everything went well, but I had to stop by few time to do the programming. Overall my experience was very good, everything works great, but it took more time than I expected. Make sure you bring ALL keys which came with the car. PROS: Good price; Willing to work on the equipment you buy; Good communication. CONS: Takes too long to finish the job; Slow and not very informative front desk stuff. read more

Awful wait time. I had my car starter here almost 3 years ago. I always had problem with it for some reason it needs to be reprogrammed almost every 3months it's so annoying maybe it's the manufacturer or the product itself so dont buy the "cool start" car starter. I gave them 3 stars coz the guy was nice enough to reprogram mine with no cost even if I already had it for a long time and he gave me some advice how to prevent it from happening. So I did it but still as soon as I get home 1 car starter will work the other will stop working even with new batteries. Last time I went was such a pain I called to get an appointment for "reprogram" which onky take about 10mins to do. I waited over an hour then the girl didnt even give the keys yet to the guy at the back I was so pissed. If I have to wait let me know I have to wait other than lie and say it should be done in 10minutes and ended up being 1hrs 20 mins. So if your going here make sure YOU DON'T MIND Waiting for a very looooong time. read more

I found this store to be less than helpful, more so rude. First of all, one of their employees gave me a hard time for having my car audio done elsewhere. He wouldn't let it go even while I was buying a 149 dollar wiring harness from the store. He then went on to talk crap about me to another customer only 5 feet away. The return policy is a scam, you cannot even return and item for cash if you paid in cash and have the unopened item with the receipt. all returns are store credit. lets just say I'm sure there is a better place to get audio done for your car. read more

Very strongly suggest staying away from this establishment. The previous owner was the reason I went back recently. Currently under new ownership and I had nothing but a overly poor experience. The staff made it seem like I was inconveniencing them by being there. I told them exactly what I car I had and what I needed, and I still got the wrong item. And returns even WITH a receipt will only get you a store credit, no matte what you paid with. Overall very disappointed that such a great company has gone so far downhill. read more

I went here to get a Bluetooth/aux adapter installed in my car that I had purchased. The wait time was very reasonable and the quality of the installation was great. I got a full explanation on how the system worked as well as everything that was done once it was all setup. The price was also more than fair. They even let me come in on a weekend when they were close to closing hours and still got everything done for me. Overall a great experience, I would definitely recommend Action Audio to anyone I know. read more
