The 51 is a big pub that will be spilling with people come rugby season. It's a good pub with music at the weekends and food during the day. They have several TVs which make it popular for any sporting events, but they also have hot-dog vendors and an outdoor tap for the big matches that happen in Landsdowne, Croke Park or the RDS. It's also nice for a few quiet drinks and you can sit outside on a sunny day. The 51 is very busy on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights and very popular with 25-35's. Music makes sure that everyone stays until 1ish. There's also a room upstairs, open when it's very busy, which can be rented out for private functions.

The 51 is nice place for a pint on Haddington Road. The pub decor is more modern than Smyths just across the road, but the barmen here are just as attentive and their pints are cheaper. The pub is fairly busy on a Friday evening with the after-work crowd but because it's pretty big you don't feel like a sardine. There is a board with special offers on beers and cocktails behind the bar and they do have a large selection of spirits. The only thing that slightly annoyed me was that the TV screens were showing the Windows Media-player screensaver thing that you get when you listen to music on your PC. Other than that, it's a nice place to come and watch the Rugby with a pint.

The 51 is generally a pretty busy place. Big post work crowds push in here on Thursdays and Fridays, and the outdoor tables are always full on a nice day. It's a big roomy pub though, with good cocktails, reasonable pints, and some interesting rotating beer specials (check the blackboard out the front for what's on special). The food is pretty standard greasy pub fare and the service varies. There's an upstairs function room and they also book tables downstairs (if you can guarantee numbers they have a free food deal). All this makes it a solid place for a quick one with mates or an ideal venue for a boozy work function.

this is the pub to head to after a game in landsdowne road, well it was when landsdowne road was open, and actually i havent been in here since the closed the ground, im sure this pub is really looking forward to it opening again so that its crowds grow back to what they used to be. all the same this is stilla great pub to go to when there is a rugby game on, there is always a great atmosphere and you dont feel too squashed despite the throngs of people that are screaming at the screens around you. they do food here too which isnt too bad, it hits the spot when you are on a real session!

My girlfriend and I went to the 51 for dinner and some pints tonight. It was fantastic. Good pub food with good drink prices. I had steak with fries and she had fish and chips. Both were very good, they had a special that was a dish and a pint for 12 euros. Bartender was very friendly and helpful. He offered some new drink suggestions and things to do. Definitely a place we'd go back to! Cheers

I would have loved to give this place 5 stars, because you can depend on them to have any game on,…read moreand they have a great beer selection, but due to the arrogance of the bouncers I likely won't be back. I had a reservation for a game and was given a booth. My boyfriend arrived a few minutes, and he should have been able to get in with no problem since we had a reservation, but the bouncer refused to let a single person in due to full capacity. I had an empty seat open in front of me and already ordered our food for the game, so I told this to the bouncer. However, he avoided eye contact as he told me to find a manager. The manager, in fairness, was very nice and he told the bouncer to finally let my boyfriend in. This whole ordeal unfortunately took a half hour, and our food got cold.

Have been going to the Woolshed for about 7 years to watch NFL on Sundays and always loved this…read morespot. It was always fantastic until the change of ownership in 2025. Now the bar is understaffed, they don't have the same selection of drinks, and the food has become inedible. Tried two dishes and both arrived cold. The sauces are tasteless and you can tell they are trying to pinch every penny out of the place. The new owners have taken what was Dublin's best sports bar and turned it into a place to avoid. If you like hot wings and good service, sadly, you'll have to go somewhere else.

What a fun sports bar for a night out in Dublin…read more My girlfriend and I googled for a bar that may have the Eagles game on, and word was Sinnotts was one of the bars in the area that frequently puts Eagles games on or whatever the most asked for game is by most patrons at the time. My girlfriend and I were off both geared up in our Eagles jerseys and myself sporting an Eagles hat as well. We were determined to make our presence known and really hope they would put it on the big screen for us if we showed the proper amount of enthusiasm and zeal. Luckly, it worked and another couple came in right after us decked out in eagles gear as well, score, we now had a rooting section as soon as you entered the establishment. They had a great 2 for 1 margarita deal and they were quite good. The food was nothing to sneeze at either, the Irish Stew was probably my favorite of the whole trip, and my only gripe is I wish the portion size was a little larger. I tasted my gf's dish which was the braised beef, and it was a heaping portion size and good, not the best in all of our trip but still very good. This was one of our first few nights in Dublin before meeting up with our tour group for a drive over parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland and I am very glad we chose here as one of the bars. I would recommend if you are in the area and want to make a night out of it watching a sports game, grabbing some food, and if you're in the mood to indulge in a few cocktails, well you will definitely have a wide array of spirits and beer to choose from. As always people SYOY!!!

My husband was thrilled to find golf playing on the massive screen - perfect spot for sports lovers! The Guinness was smooth and perfectly poured, just as it should be. We didn't try much food this time but definitely enjoyed the classic pub energy and welcoming vibe. Conveniently located right off Grafton Street too, so it was an easy stop while sightseeing. Highly recommend if you want a cozy, local pub with good drinks and sports on TV!

The meal was divine. The restaurant appeared to be a cross between a steakhouse and an Irish pub overing a diverse menu. The restaurant was dark and homey. The staff was attentive and friendly. I'd recommend visiting Bull and Castle during your next trip to Dublin.

Such a change from the last experience a year ago…read more We had 8:30 PM reservations. Arrived around 8:10 and were told to wait at the bar. No problem, it's NYE, we can wait for out booked time. Less than 5 minutes later we were lead to a table, not even time to order a drink! We shared everything. Ordered cocktails to begin with. They were ok, two different old fashioned drinks. We tried to order bone marrow, scallops, tuna tataki and a Caesar salad as starters. They were already out of the bone marrow and scallops. It's a holiday, you know there are reservations... what?! Poor management and planning!! They recommended the lamb kidneys... never had them before, super gross. I'll never do that again. It smelled like urine! We ordered the burger and 14 oz sirloin to share, medium rare on the steak. Polenta fries, and mashed potatoes. The polenta fries were outstanding! The burger was delicious! Smokey flavor, it was great. It came with huge steak fries, I prefer shoestring. The steak was not tender. Had a better steak sandwich at the Morrison for lunch. All in all, I will not be going back nor recommending this place. The wine I ordered never arrived, our water was never refilled. In fact, after the food arrived, we never saw anyone again!! When the check came with an obligatory 12.5% tip I missed it and paid. Once I noticed, I flipped out!! This was the worst service ever!! I double check tipping culture in Ireland before I complain. 10% is good for good service and bad service is ok to leave zero tip. So I asked for it back. They gave me credit for the tip but not the tax on tip. Unimpressed. Won't go again.
