Stopped in for quick pint. It was early afternoon and only two folks there before us. Just the bar tender working. He seemed friendly to the locals. Atmosphere was of typical local pub.

Peadar Kearney's is one of those weird places around the Christ Church area of Dublin (McGruders is another one) that serves the dual function of being a common or garden regular old man-esque pub most of the time, and then turning into mad techno music hot-spots on Fridays and Saturdays, then back to old man pubs without anyone passing comment. Upstairs (as in the ground floor), Peadar Kearney's is your average, run-of-the-mill pub, like so many others on Dame St. Very pleasant to pass a rainy afternoon with a few pints of stout there but otherwise, nothing spectacular of unusual to write home about. Then downstairs is this mad club room, where they play electronic house music and everybody gets out of their brackets. A couple of years ago, this used to happen on a weekly basis, when the downstairs was known as 'Rogue', and they used to get some savage guest djs. These days, there are dance music gigs on again, but they don't take place on a regular basis, so you have to keep an eye out for them. The downstairs is mad, the upstairs is nice enough as such places go, but I doubt that there is much of a crossover between the two floors' patrons.

Love love love this pub! I'm way late on providing review, but a fun welcoming place! Important - See Kesh perform if he's going to be there ! Stacey and I will be back :-)

Stopped in for Irish music on a trip to Ireland. It is more local than tourist. Good atmosphere and good music.

I would say this palace is your average pub, but Brian Brody (their local performer)gave it another star for me.

What a fun sports bar for a night out in Dublin…read more My girlfriend and I googled for a bar that may have the Eagles game on, and word was Sinnotts was one of the bars in the area that frequently puts Eagles games on or whatever the most asked for game is by most patrons at the time. My girlfriend and I were off both geared up in our Eagles jerseys and myself sporting an Eagles hat as well. We were determined to make our presence known and really hope they would put it on the big screen for us if we showed the proper amount of enthusiasm and zeal. Luckly, it worked and another couple came in right after us decked out in eagles gear as well, score, we now had a rooting section as soon as you entered the establishment. They had a great 2 for 1 margarita deal and they were quite good. The food was nothing to sneeze at either, the Irish Stew was probably my favorite of the whole trip, and my only gripe is I wish the portion size was a little larger. I tasted my gf's dish which was the braised beef, and it was a heaping portion size and good, not the best in all of our trip but still very good. This was one of our first few nights in Dublin before meeting up with our tour group for a drive over parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland and I am very glad we chose here as one of the bars. I would recommend if you are in the area and want to make a night out of it watching a sports game, grabbing some food, and if you're in the mood to indulge in a few cocktails, well you will definitely have a wide array of spirits and beer to choose from. As always people SYOY!!!

My husband was thrilled to find golf playing on the massive screen - perfect spot for sports lovers! The Guinness was smooth and perfectly poured, just as it should be. We didn't try much food this time but definitely enjoyed the classic pub energy and welcoming vibe. Conveniently located right off Grafton Street too, so it was an easy stop while sightseeing. Highly recommend if you want a cozy, local pub with good drinks and sports on TV!

The…read morerestaurant is located within a quieter neighborhood in the city while still walkable to the sights. Far from the crowds of Temple Bar, the restaurant was understated and peaceful. The meal was divine. The restaurant appeared to be a cross between a steakhouse and an Irish pub overing a diverse menu. The restaurant was dark and homey. The staff was attentive and friendly. I'd recommend visiting Bull and Castle during your next trip to Dublin.

Such a change from the last experience a year ago…read more We had 8:30 PM reservations. Arrived around 8:10 and were told to wait at the bar. No problem, it's NYE, we can wait for out booked time. Less than 5 minutes later we were lead to a table, not even time to order a drink! We shared everything. Ordered cocktails to begin with. They were ok, two different old fashioned drinks. We tried to order bone marrow, scallops, tuna tataki and a Caesar salad as starters. They were already out of the bone marrow and scallops. It's a holiday, you know there are reservations... what?! Poor management and planning!! They recommended the lamb kidneys... never had them before, super gross. I'll never do that again. It smelled like urine! We ordered the burger and 14 oz sirloin to share, medium rare on the steak. Polenta fries, and mashed potatoes. The polenta fries were outstanding! The burger was delicious! Smokey flavor, it was great. It came with huge steak fries, I prefer shoestring. The steak was not tender. Had a better steak sandwich at the Morrison for lunch. All in all, I will not be going back nor recommending this place. The wine I ordered never arrived, our water was never refilled. In fact, after the food arrived, we never saw anyone again!! When the check came with an obligatory 12.5% tip I missed it and paid. Once I noticed, I flipped out!! This was the worst service ever!! I double check tipping culture in Ireland before I complain. 10% is good for good service and bad service is ok to leave zero tip. So I asked for it back. They gave me credit for the tip but not the tax on tip. Unimpressed. Won't go again.

The authentic Victorian setting, the Victorian mahogany fittings, the mosaic marble tiled floors and granite tabletops, the mahogany bar, capped with red Connemara marble, follows the classic Victorian architectural pattern. The staff are helpful, friendly and patient since their accent is hard to understand sometime. My 1st beer and 1st Irish food, all I can say is what a meal, just simple delish. Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.
