UPDATE: I am now giving 1 star instead of 3 due to the dishonest owner. I called them 8 weeks in advance. Obviously, their policy on move times has nothing to do with how soon. This is the policy they always have per the rep that I spoke to. I have NO reason to lie about this. Every mover I talk to had availability but not the right price. I did NOT call too late to book movers. Also, I just saw this reply as the owner waited 3-4 months later to sneak a dishonest reply. I dodged a bullet not working with this company. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I just called for a quote. I felt that the quote was reasonable for 3 movers. Unfortunately, the company was simply inflexible about the move time. They refused to accommodate a 2 hour window. I live in an apartment and we have to reserve the freight elevator. We can only book it for 2 hours. 150 movers will do 8am-10am moves or 11-3p. They will not do 2 hour increments after 10am which obviously would not work for me. It is a shame because. Most people moving from apartments, need to book a freight elevator. The person that I spoke to was courteous and professional. I just wish the company was more collaborative. George, Antonio and Jaden came to move my fiancé and I out of our apartment into a house. They arrived within their time frame that they gave us. When they arrived, they got straight to work. We were surprised by how fast they were able to move everything! They each were professional, polite and efficient. We have a tight spiral staircase in our new house, which is a pain to get furniture up. They kindly moved a whole office up the stairs without hesitation or complaints! We appreciated this because we know how much of a hassle it is to move up those stairs. They also were very careful with our items, they wrapped all the items that needed wrapping and carefully loaded and unloaded our stuff. Nothing was broken or damaged during the move. They were able to move 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an office and a kitchen in 3 hours (including a 20min drive to our new house). We were impressed by how quickly they got this done! The pricing is extremely reasonable. I feel that the quality of service was worth even more than they charged! This was such a positive experience and I highly recommend this company to anyone needing moving services! We will definitely be using them again! read more

If you want a professional and efficient moving process then don't go with 150 Movers. Most movers charge a flat fee per hour based on the details of your move. 150 claims to do the same but upon arrival they find ways to charge extra, i.e. mattress covers, pillow bags, etc. Unfortunately these guys don't care about the safety of your items while transporting them. They found a way to damage a light weight wall clock and mentioned it casually as if it was damaged prior to the move. It wasn't. Once we arrived to our new home, everything was unloaded and scattered. We had to ask them to assemble the items they dissembled and they failed at even that. Items weren't assembled correctly (took 3 guys to assemble a clothing rack that was only partially dissembled). Also, nearly everything was left wrapped. Using 150 movers caused us more work post move than any other moving service we used before. Take your business elsewhere if you want a headache free move! read more

Being that it was my first move in 3 years, I did a little research on Reddit and heard good reviews for 150 movers, I didn't even bother contacting anyone else. Made a reservation to move from a 3rd floor (indoor elevator available) 1 Br apt in the Museum District to a home in Richmond. The men were very efficient, professional, and friendly during the move. Even with the 25 mile drive to Richmond (there was no traffic at noon), they finished in about 2.5 hours. There was no wasting time, moved with a sense of urgency. I can't say my experience will be indicative of yours in terms of time, but I will definitely be using them again this summer. The only items I insisted that the movers take particular care of were my TVs. They told me that they were wrapped and placed between my mattresses. Neither of those statements were true and both TV screens were completely shattered in the move. The TVs were strapped up against the side of the van with no wrapping and no cushion of any kind. I understand that things happen during moves, but what I can't stand is being lied to. If I had known the TVs were left unwrapped and not cushioned in any way, I would have simply done it myself. I used 150 movers a while back and have been hesitant to write a review. The reason why is because the movers that came to my house to move my stuff were extremely unprofessional, and I wouldn't put it past them to come back and physically attack me for writing the truth about the company. Nonetheless, I couldn't help but notice the many fake reviews on this page, and am submitting mine in hopes that no one will have to go through as miserable an experience as I. So here are just a few of the many unprofessional actions I observed while this company was moving my things: 1) I paid for the 150 flat rate move, plus additional money for the premium service which is supposed to include closing boxes, wrapping furniture, etc. I elected this service over the phone, unfortunately, so I don't have written proof. 2) The two men that arrived at my house immediately started complaining that they did not know they had to move my house today. It was late and they were tired, they continued (I don't remember when they arrived, something like 4pm-5pm). One mover, who was stinky and covered in sweat, proceeded to sit down on my family's living room couch, saying he needed to write up papers. 3) Although I had sent a written request for all the items that needed to be moved, each mover repeatedly asked me to go through the house and identify what needed to be moved. Throughout the entire move, they continued to ask me, by pointing, which items needed to be moved. 4) The mover who began by infusing the living room couch with BO while writing up papers (hereafter referred to as Bo), did not do anything for about 3/4 of the "move out". The other mover (hereafter referred to as "George") was very large. He was moving everything by himself, so of course all my belongings were drug from the house to the moving vehicle. 5) After writing up papers, Bo would walk around randomly and would stand in one room for extended periods of time. When I walked in to check on him, he would be rotating furniture, and would ask me if he needed to move it. 6) I have many friends that could have moved me for free. I chose to hire movers because from prior experience, they are strong and can move the entire place in 2 hours (I used either 2 man movers or 3 man movers before). I didn't want to hurt my friends' backs, so I hired movers. Unfortunately, the movers did not finish until around 1 or 2 am. I was exhausted. I had to move my own furniture to speed them up. My friend had to watch 1 mover while I watched the other to make sure they didn't destroy everything. 7) While moving into my new place, George kept complaining that he needed soda water. He couldn't believe he had to do all this moving and not get any soda water. Obviously all of my "soda water" was still in the moving vehicle, so I nervously ignored his comments. A little while later, he tried to get a soda out of the vending machine, but it was broken and stole his dollar. He proceeded to scream and stomp around saying something to the extent of "I NEED SODA WATER". At this point, I remembered we had water in my partner's car, and asked him to go get it for George. I brought George two of the water bottles, and apologized I didn't have any soda water. He took the bottle, and then said "IT'S HOT, I CAN'T DRINK NO HOT WATER". Surprised, I asked my partner to put the water in the freezer. This whole situation was very strange, since moving companies are supposed to provide nourishment for their own employees. George continued to complain until the water was cooled in the freezer. 8) While George was waiting for the water to freeze, he would stomp around in my new (-ly cleaned) place with his muddy shoes. He told me he should have a place like mine. I then left the room to check on the other mover. When I came back, my sister told me that George had randomly weighed himself on my glass scale instead of moving anything. 9) I forgot to mention it rained during the "moveout". The movers got everything muddy from then on. Since the house we were moving out of was going to be given to the new owners the next day, we had to lay down our bath towels to stop the movers from making the place totally filthy. By the way, even with muddy boots, Bo continued to walk around randomly in every room of the house until my friend screamed at him to stop. 10) I also forgot to mention that the movers claimed they didn't know how to close boxes or wrap furniture. They kind-of wrapped 1 or 2 pieces of furniture. Everything they moved that was even slightly heavy had knicks out of the wood, broken off knobs, scratches everywhere. 11) I could have moved my entire house by myself (excluding 1 heavy item), faster and with less damage than these 2 movers. Wow, I have run out of characters. Let me just say that the 11 items above are about 1/4 of the horrible things that happened during the 8-10 hours I had to deal with them. DISCLAIMER: I did not go with this moving company. I just got off the phone with a man who answered simply by saying "this is Luis*" I had to ask if he was with 150 movers. When he said yes, I explained that I needed a move from inside the loop to Cypress and informed me that that would cost an additional $25-30, $150 for the first two hours, and $55 an hour after that. WAIT WHAT? I thought there was a flat rate. The graphic on your facebook page says $150 flat rate, NO CHARGE FOR ADDITIONAL HOURS" He then informed me that for a move to Cypress if I wanted to go with the flat rate, we were looking at $200 and that we would have to go from there. Go from there? What does that even mean? For a company that claims to make moving simple, nothing was simple about this conversation. read more

He took the time to explain rates and available days/times. Movers Samuel & Jack arrived on time, and were efficient, professional and diligent. In addition, they each carried a positive demeanor, even when we changed out mind about an appliance's location mid-move. We appreciate their patience, kindness, and generosity. Lastly, it goes without saying, but there was absolutely no damage to our furniture, hence the 5 star rating. This is the company to call for proficient and affordable moving. read more

A friend of mine recommended this moving company to me and I'm glad we hired them! My boyfriend moved apartments over Labor Day weekend. The movers showed up (two of them) and started working right away. Since we had contacted them a few weeks prior to the move, they already had a list of furniture that we wanted moved. What's AWESOME... they wrapped all our furniture to protect them from getting dirty and scratched! I mean... I don't even do that myself when I moved so that was a plus (and lovely surprise too!). Our furniture and boxes arrived in one piece. The rate was super reasonable for the care and hours they put in. Side Note: this company have two types of rate: a flat rate and an hourly rate. I recommend that you contact them and see which rate they suggest because there are certain "rules" for each rate. When I contacted them, they were honest and up-front about which rate they thought was best. Even when they arrived and evaluated the place, they told us what they thought was the best pricing for us (which we appreciated). The service was great and the movers were professional. 150 Movers did a good job overall. 3 men came to move our things from our apartment to townhouse in Houston and they wrapped our furniture well, disassembled and reassembled our bed frame with no issues, and were careful overall with our boxes; nothing broke. They were friendly; the tall man, I believe Jeremy, was especially efficient/worked hard. However, one big issue was that they arrived very late to start the move. The company had quoted between 1 and 4pm, however the came at 6:30pm. They did give us a discount for being late though. Apparently the moves before took longer than expected. But they were moving us in the dark, which was a bit worrisome, especially when noticing that the light in their moving truck was not working. They didn't finish until MIDNIGHT! At this time, I have been explained further of the misunderstandings. 150 movers has contacted me since I have made the original review. I am not going to take down my original review because that is MY experience with the company. I did appreciate that Eddy did explain to me what the trip charge was. Regarding the trip charge, I was told over the phone that depending on the distances of the locations the move was going to take place, a trip charge would be determined. Over the phone, I provided the addresses and told me that I would not be charged an additional trip charge. After the move was completed, I was told by one of the movers that I had to pay a trip charge. I was thrown off because of what I was already told over the phone. Eddy explained to me that the mover did not use the right choice of words and that the "trip charge" is already in the price of the move and that I was not charged more for it. 150 movers saw my negative review. They apologized for what happened and offered to repair some of the items that were damaged during the move. After a few weeks, I received a check in the mail for the other items that were destroyed and could not be put back together. The process of the items getting repaired/replaced was a daunting one. We made a reservation with this company based on their Yelp reviews. We called other companies as well, but at the end, 150 had a better rate for our needs. We moved our 2 bedroom apartment in 3rd floor to a 2 bedroom on a 1st floor, maybe 15-20 miles away from each other. They did everything within the 2 hours. Granted, we had 3 movers as required with any move that has a 3rd floor, making it quicker. We had also moved most of the stuff we could carry and simply needed the movers for furniture. I was not present at time of move, my boyfriend was. He told me the movers were on time (we were provided a time window), very friendly, honest, fast, and professional. Nothing was damaged, as they wrapped furniture or things that could be damaged. They were also honest about us taking our TV ourselves if we felt safer moving it ourselves- I completely understand TVs can get damaged easily with any ding, so we did that. Overall, I'm happy with the move and the rate we got. I know there are plenty of companies out there, but I'd definitely recommend them if you're on a budget and only need your heavy things moved. Update 2/17 They did finally show up at midnight. We finished at 3:30 am. Insane. They did give me a hefty discount and the guys worked very fast and only complained minimally. I had two broken ceramic rose bookends and a broken dvd stand when all was said and done. Update Follow up. It's now 10:40 and they are just now heading this way. Mind. It's night!!!! There excuse is that they can't tell a customer who wasn't ready no. That if the customer wants them to sit around and move fucking furniture like musical chairs around the house, they can't tell them they have put another appointment off for 7hrs!!!!! I've been waiting 7 hours!!!!!!!!!! F you. That's all I have to say. Original I booked an appointment 1 1/2 to two weeks ago. It's now into the 4th hour of waiting for them because their earlier appointments ran over. They were supposed to be here between 4 and 7. It's now 8:30 and they won't be here until 10-11. It's night time. What really makes it bad, is that instead of calling me earlier today when they first realized things were running behind and letting me know, I had to sit here without hearing from them until I decided to call. I'm so very tired and frustrated. Do they only have 3 movers??? That's what I hired. If one team is behind and another team is done, wouldn't you think you should send them on over to complete my job??? Wtf?! They say they will give me some sort of discount. Wonderful moving company! Our company was bought out and we had a two story office building that needed to be cleared in a very short period of time (desks and all). To top it off, there was a large amount of confusion on dates and changing of plans constantly with the owners. I am new to yelp.com and I am starting with the 150 Movers. They are a moving company that I had originally found off of Craigslist. I used them once and they have been my movers ever since. They do apartment moves for 150 dollars as long as your stuff is boxed up and your beds are taken apart. It hasn't happened during any of my times using them but one of the guys told me that they charge a little bit extra if there is a long walk from the customers front door to the truck. Either way, I know all my friends and myself have been using them for the last 2 years and amongst my circle I have never heard of one of their jobs going over 300 dollars. NEVER once have I been treated like a number with the 150 Movers, will continue to use them until I'm at one place for good. read more

the people on the phone were super helpful and informative the people with the truck liked to take smoke breaks and didn't treat my things as carefully as I'd hoped they would, nothing serious, but a few nicks on my coffee table and the top of the table came off as well so I had to fix it aside from them taking 3 hours to complete what should have been a 2 hour move at the most I was happy with the service I got, and with how little it cost it was well worth it, I would most definitely use them again in the future read more

I called them early on the day of my move, and the guy I talked to was caught off guard and didn't know how to answer my questions. But, he called me back and was very helpful. They arrived on time, and were very courteous. They were very careful with our stuff, and we had no mishaps. My only complaints, they were a little slow, but with a flat rate fee, it didn't really matter.
