I absolutely love this place. Normally, a place that has a massive menu is a bit concerning to me…read moreas it often leads to not really excelling at anything, but that is not the case here in my experience. The reason behind the large menu is related to the aim of the restaurant, which is to showcase the various regional cuisines of India. As a result, don't expect the straightforward menu of: apps, entrees, deserts, etc... rather the menu is divided by cuisine. Aside from honouring tradition, they do offer a couple 'new' takes on some items. If you comb through a few reviews, and certainly the pics, you'll notice a must-order items is the roasted eggplant with pomegranate. It really is like nothing else I've had before and unforgettable in both taste and texture. My group also went with a famous lamb dish as well. I don't remember the name offhand, but it is incredibly soft, well seasoned and nicely spiced dish. We also went with orders of naan, veggie dishes and meat skewers. It's beautifully decorated inside and also has the advantage of being located in a heritage building in what was formerly an estate home nearly 150 years old. It's truly a unique place and one people living in the area can be proud and of showcase to visitors.

The portion cann be share, however; I recommend toffee pudding with ice cream. Due to the weekend , the service was slow. I would like to thank Sheily who was so friendly and acted professionally when we did not like the cardamom chai as it has milk and did meet our expectations . She changed the chai with Earl Gray which was really tasty. The ambiance was nice and comfort. The chairs were comfortable and the employees were friendly.

The place was not busy (surprisingly) when I walked in around lunch time. The spread on the counter…read moreof curries and fried items seemed very limited and in tiny containers. Ordered a Masala Dosa and Veg Kottu Roti. My go to dishes in a Sri Lankan restaurant. The fact that no other customers came in was worrisome to me that did I make a good choice by coming here. The Masala Dosa comes in a container sliced in two rather than the entire wrapped in foil at one of nearby place (our favourite). The Dosa (crepe) much thicker than it should be make it too doughy and filling not flavoured enough. The accompanying sambhar was nothing great as well. The chutney too thin and watery but was surprisingly much better. It hit the right notes on flavour, spiciness and salt. The Kottu Roti was cooked with minimal veggies and much spicier than I anticipated. I was fine, but the Mrs not so much. And this was asking it to be mild. Need to try the HOT when I am all alone. The redeeming factor was that it contained Nutrella pieces (Indian continent soy pieces). The quantity was disappointing as well. $8.50 for a Masala Dosa (similar price to a sit down restaurant and much better quality or several $s expensive than the one sold at a nearby Sri Lankan place) and $7 for Kottu Roti - same as Masala Dosa. Now I know why there were not many people during lunch!

I actually loved the spice level of Kothu but biryani was way spicy for me to handle. Different spices than the Indian food but I liked it. Readily available appetizers included potato wada, chicken patties, idli, medu wada. Potato wada was also spicy but tasty. This is small place - take out only. You don't have to wait long. Decent pricing. Ample parking space

They also have a full bar, offering beer, wine and creative cocktails. We ordered some of their specialties: "MALAI METHI MURGH", "OLD DELHI BUTTER CHICKEN", "PUNJABI MUTTON", "LAMB ROGANJOSH", "TAMARIND CHICKEN PLATTER" and paired them with "PANEER KULCHA" and "KEEMA NAAN". Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We enjoyed every bite. If you're not used to spicy food, choose "mild" for heat level as it still has a bit of a kick to it. The staff are friendly and helpful. There's a parking lot beside the restaurant with first 2 hours of parking being free of charge.

The grill platter was really really good and good value. Pani puri shots were delicious however, apparently the soy dish in the appetizers is phenomenal which I will try next time and was recommended by a friend, the butter chicken is also really good. I haven't tried it, but a friend has mentioned that it is very good. Service was good. They brought what we needed once we got their attention but to get the waiter's attention was difficult because we were in the corner at the back and they were extremely busy.

This is one of my all-time favorite spots for South Indian food. Pro tip: it's fully vegetarian, and you won't miss meat at all because the flavors are that good. The service is quick and friendly. One thing I really appreciate -- unlike many other places, they don't charge extra for sambar and chutneys. You can enjoy unlimited servings, which makes the whole dosa experience even better! The ambience is decent and comfortable, with South Indian songs or instrumental music playing in the background. It's a huge dine-in space and very popular, so expect a wait time of around 30-50 minutes, especially if you're coming with a big group. It's in high demand for a reason. Now the food... I honestly can't put it into words. So delicious. So authentic. The dosas are perfectly crispy, served with hot sambar -- pure bliss. Total food coma after! We tried several dishes (see pics), and every single one was amazing. Washroom note: There are two stalls in the women's restroom, which feels a bit limited for how busy the restaurant gets. That said, I didn't have to wait when I went, and it was clean and well-maintained. There's one washroom shared between customers and employees. Overall, 100/10 recommendation. My favorite place to eat South Indian food -- always a must-visit!
