Absolutely delicious. I was immediately excited about trying this restaurant when I found out that they have a sister branch in Cabramatta - it suggested to me that this would be a place to come and try authentic Vietnamese food. I was right. Everything on the menu tastes as if you had bought it straight from Vietnam. The freshness, intensity and balance of the flavours was incredible. I love rice paper rolls, so much so that any old rice paper roll tastes good to me. The ones at Thanh Binh were divine - so soft, filled with delicious pieces of prawn, pork, vermicelli, lettuce and mint. Definitely an entrée where everyone needs a plate each because these are too good to share. The also offer a clever, fun and novel way to experience Vietnamese cuisine with their 'roll your own' option - for $24, you're given rice paper, a choice of fillings and salad and allowed to roll your own. It adds an extra dimension of fun and also means you can choose exactly what you roll up.
For main we ordered a whole range of dishes that were recommended to us by the waitress. I can't remember what they were, but I can remember that they were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend doing the same if you visit this restaurant - the staff are lovely and evidently very knowledgeable about Vietnamese cuisine. Therefore, it makes sense (if you're adventurous) to let them choose their favourites for you. It means you try things you've probably never tried before.
I had a great time at this fantastic restaurant - it offers some of the best Vietnamese I've ever had. read more
