Thaiger is a nice little thai food place in Glendale. My first time here and went here based on Yelp reviews. Parking is little challenging but you will mostly find a place. The restaurant looks pretty humble and simple from outside as well as inside. The seating is little different where it is a like a straight row of tables and thats it. The kitchen is right by the middle of the sitting on the other side with a opening in the wall to serve the food from the kitchen. The service here is pretty good. The lady who was serving us food made us feel like home and we were having good conversations about where we come from etc. The food came out pretty quickly and the portion size is good. We ordered the chicken potstickers, vegetable fried rice, chicken rice, pad see ew and kung pao chicken. Everyone in our group including the kids liked the food and taste. Just based on my experience in previous thai restaurants, I would say the food could be little more flavorful. I would give 5 stars if not for the not-so-typical-interiors and a tad bit less flavor. Ambiance was really nice but we got food to go. It just wasn't good. The mango sticky rice was old or something because it was HARD. The mango was good the sauce was nice but the rice was really subpar. I got the pad Thai and it was really missing a lot of flavor and salt. I threw in some salt lemon and fish sauce when I got home it was actually a lot better but I was really hoping for more. Chicken skewers were dry. Peanut sauce was good though. Crab Rangoon's actually great. Really tasty. Tom yum though smelled like old shrimp like the sort of fishy shrimp smell that makes you wonder if you should eat it. The shrimp were way over cooked. Got the pad thai, pad see ew, and Mongolian chicken to share between two people. Portions are ok but we were able to finish the three dishes easily. Pad Thai was ok flavorful wise but we did ask for this one to be spicy but it was mild. I am really weak to spicy food so for me to say that this was mild is really saying something. What a hidden gem!!! I loved everything about this restaurant. The interior was simple but nice,they play calming soft music, you can even see the sparkling clean kitchen through the little opening in the middle of the restaurant. The Ambience Was Very Welcoming, And Staff Was Very Upbeat And Friendly. The Menu's Selection Was Rather Filled With A Variety Of Choices, And The Prices For Them Were Very Fair. To Keep It Standard On My First Visit, I Went With The Combination-Optioned Pad Thai, As Well As Thai Sausage Fried Rice With Chicken. Not Only Was The Proportion Generously Served For What I Paid For, But The Food Was Cooked Fresh And Tasted Rather Wonderful. This was my first time eating at Thaiger, but it most certainly won't be my last. Their food is delicious, and the proprietor and waitress couldn't be more gracious. I ordered their Pad Thai, the Chicken Noodles, their delicious Crab Fried Rice. In my opinion, those dishes were some of the best I've ever eaten (I consider myself somewhat of a "Thai noodle connoisseur!") I've been craving them ever since and can't wait to return. The service was so friendly as well as efficient. This is a low key/small venue atmosphere, but with very good food served by a wonderful staff. Highly recommended !!! Friendly staff serves the food at a nice ready-to=eat temperature -always hot enougn. If you like shrimp, I recommend blanket shrimp (shrimp in wonton) as an appetizer. For an after-dinner treat, sliced mango with sticky rice is another good suggestion.
