Lovely staff but average thai - lacked fragrance and vibrancy and colour. Would not really recommend as the food was fairly forgettable.

Best Thai food I have had for a long time. Friendly, nice Indochine style decor. Amazing Chicken Laap. Highly recommend.

Sadly, they did not but I understood the explanation. We ordered corn fritters, vegetable tempura, hand fried spring rolls, green curry with tofu, pad Thai, and a Tiger beer. It was good. I'm glad it was so good because it is not fast. Which means someone is actually cooking the food. Which we need to appreciate more. So go there when you're with someone whose company you enjoy and you aren't in a hurry. Sit. Have a beer or two and wait. It's coming and it'll be good. It's also good because it isn't TOO anything. My friend wanted more seasoning and asked if it would be rude to ask for salt or something. I decided that it would. This is a family spot. "You go tell him his wife's food isn't to your liking", I joked while savoring my dish. This man wanted to ask for salt or (gasp) soy sauce(!) and he had eaten the decorative vegetables on the plate. It was good solid Thai food. The server was kind and celebrated my sloppy attempts at speaking Thai. The spot is not what you'd expect, it's homey, the ceiling and walls covered in standard cultural decor but it gave speakeasy. Like a place the mob would frequent. Quiet, comfortable, private, and low traffic. This should he a neighborhood favorite.

I just wanted to clarify a few points that were raised above but not fully discussed: 1) This restaurant does NOT serve any alcohol at all. Consequently, they do allow you to bring your own wine (which is great for saving money). So be sure to stop into one of the local shops on your way there and buy a bottle of wine. 2) Space is VERY limited. The restaurant is basically the dining room of an old house that's been converted into a restaurant. So it can get very crowded. Be sure to call first and make a reservation. I've seen people waiting outside this place for 30-40 minutes to get a table otherwise, and the first thing the waiter asks to in-coming customers is "Do you have a reservation?" And it can get crowded on week-days as well as weekends.

Take out is also a great option as the restaurant works pretty quickly, you just have to make sure you have cash as the restaurant is not registered on just eat or hungry house. The dishes are great value for money. My all time favourites are the massaman and yellow curry with coconut rice. Pad thai and pad see eew are amongst the best I've had in London. A diverse menu that would please a big group. They also have a selection of delectable starters and tasty salads that will make sure you don't leave hungry. They also allow bring your own so it's a great cheap and cheerful night out catching up wih friends.

I feel like an absolute fucking bellend tbh, spending all my time in fucking yumyums (which has the world's stupidest name and is only fun coz they have those tables that sink into the floor but half the time they don't let you sit in them anyway) when this absolute solid gold TREASURE is one minute round the corner. Anyway, the window seat is right next to some cute fairy lights and flowers and shit. As per usual I embarrassed my dining partner - 2015 Elite Yelper, Luke Y - by announcing that if this was a tinder date he would definitely be getting laid. BE WARNED THOUGH - romantic as it is, that table is draughty as fuck whenever anyone goes out for a cigarette. The food is the most authentic Thai I've had outside of actual Thailand. We ordered like the fat fucks that we are, and had fish cakes, chicken satay, squid and some kind of stir fried pork. I also rate their masaman curry and kanom jeeb dumplings more highly than I can express in words, and their homemade ice creams are fleek af too plus they do cool flavours like coconut and pandan. Your whole experience here is going to be heightened immeasurably by the cuteness of the tiny Thai grandma that serves the food. I just want to kiss her all over her jolly little face. She brings you these little spearmint chewy sweets with your bill that instantly take on the exact texture of pre-chewed chewing gum when you eat them. Maybe they are chewing gum? Either way, I swallow, but that's enough about my personal life LOL. All in all, it's an A+ experience every time. Big up Thai Cafe, I love you.

Both were extremely salty and when I asked the manager to replace it, it was just returned with some hot water added and the server just dumped it on the table without any apology. Whilst waiting for the replacement, rice got cold, so I asked the server to change the rice, but she didn't seem to understand English well. So we needed to call the manager. It took them a while to replace it, and again it was just left on the table without a word. My friend refused to pay the service charge, and the manager got abrupt but brought us a new bill which was higher than the original. He went away and returned with another wrong bill twice more. We seriously miss the previous Taste of Siam with great food and services. We will not go back.

There is a lot of choice, lots of curries, even the rice, you can have sticky, coconut or steamed jasmine rice, so cater to all your favourites. It is always packed and busy. They have expanded into three restaurants all next door to each other. One concentrates mainly on hot pots, one with wooden tables and more casual dining, and the other original one with table cloths, and next to it they have their own supermarket where you can buy presumably all that you have eaten in the restaurants too. My favourite dish has got to be the Lamb Massaman Curry, tender lamb and potatoes with coconut milk in a massman sauce. Just the name makes my mouth water, so yummy. The lamb is so tender and the potatoes lovely and soft, added to the curry sauce you have heaven in your mouth. If you get a chance, the hot pot dining is also very good and very reasonable. A great gem at the Mornington Crescent end of Camden High Street.
